The reversing seats technically isn’t available in North America because of some dumb regulations. However, you most definitely can still reverse the seats, even though it isn't advertised. There's a video on RUclips of someone doing it. It's actually pretty easy. Inside the seat rails, is a small piece of plastic that prevents the seats from locking in reverse, you just remove or break off the plastic, and the seats will lock right into place in reverse.
In the Prestige, They say you can't remove the fancy power recliner 2nd row seats. Probably has to do with the seat belt regulation or power connector? Might look into that..
AWESOME video…. I’ve been waiting for this…KIA DEFINITELY changed the game!!!! It’s AMAZING that no other company has come up with these features!!!! GENIUS!!!!!!
One of the First 2024 SX Prestige here. Should be identical to the 2022.. at least no changes 2023 to 2024 that I am aware of. 1. Ride is about the smoothest and quietest I've ever been in. Quiet glass works. 2. Looks. The Sienna is pretty good, but Nothing like the super Classy Carnival! 3. The Prestige has these Ridiculous Super power recliner 2nd row seats. Great for taking a nap on a road trip. Apparently you can't remove them, but may attempt it. 4. Forget the sheet of plywood on the floor. Even if you remove the middle row seats, the driver middle console would limit your max length with the rear door closed to about 95" . The days of the Grand Caravan might be over. Can Honda, Dodge or Toyota do full sheet of plywood w/door closed? 5. Huge difference if I use 93.. night and day. Smoothness, MPG, more Torque just off idle. Actually can cruise in OD2 at 75 w/a sm. cargo trailer at 1800 RPM. On Regular did OD1 at 2000 RPM. Night and day.. Baby wants to good stuff and will reward you if you use it. 6. The driver assist is awesome.. I can likely drive till I'm 112 with this. 7, The Bose sound system is excellent.. I'm not an audiophile, it's only as good as it's source, but WOW.. someone should do a review or comparison with say Escapade or other fine systems. 8. Has the dual injection so no worrys about the intake valve carbon build up. 9. Prestige has two Power sun roofs. If you put all 4 side windows down, and open both sun roofs, you practically have a convertible! Huge fan.. ordered it and got it for MSRE. Took 10 weeks. Ordered as 2023, received as 2024. Got to say, I'm thrilled with it.. 26+ MPG at 75 cruise control, 23 around town does it for me, fit and finish is excellent. Price is beyond compare. Hard to beat this w/o the complexity of AWD or Hybrid. I've never had a AWD or 4WD, and never been stuck where I live near DC. FWD rocks in the snow. The first in the ditch is 4WD, followed by AWD (IMO!!) Enjoy.
The reason you couldn't turn the seats around is because the north American models have a clip, you can easily remove the clip and it poses no safety risk
The issue with the front and front right sensors randomly triggering while stopped at a light happens on my Carnival as well. It makes no sense and I hope a future recall addresses it. I might also add that you can give the car voice commands to lower windows or operate radio, etc.
Another cool feature is the $12k dealership Markup. Great for increasing profits. Lol I jest. Thank you for the deep dive into these features and indicating whether it's available for your trim. I hate when other reviewers just make it seem like all trims come with the feature ( like the lounge seats)
Any chance you can reprogram the key fob remote to allow you to lock your car while it’s running when you’re outside of it? Or how would you disable the sensor in the car that detects movement? I can’t lock my car when it is running if I am outside of it. This is extremely inconvenient and upsetting. I used to lock our car while it was running so we could allow it to warm up in the winter on very cold days (lots of snow, etc.), but that’s not something you can do with our new Kia carnival. Kia somehow programmed the remote to not allow you to lock or unlock your car using the remote while it is running. You can however manually unlock it, or do a window trick to lock the car when running, but again, you can’t unlock it while it is running from the outside if you’re using the remote. This is not a good feature. There are many ways to unlock your car if your keys are locked inside, and so it doesn’t make sense to disable the remote fully when the car is on in regards to locking the car. If you ever try to lock your car so you can run back inside your home to get something, and want to leave your car running, you can’t. It’s awful.
I'd say the SX is probably sufficient for most people but if you need the LED lights, heated steering wheel, and the nicer leather seats then go for the SX Prestige.
i saw in other forum or reviews saying that the flipping seats are available only to asia and australia. north american safety doesn’t allow this feature,. Kia disabled the feature by adding a metal piece to obstruct snapping backward. Personally i want it for on the road dining (when the car is not running).
To get the wireless function you have to have the smaller screen. The larger screens are wired so just plug your phone in with the USB and it should activate
🧐One Drawback is the GDI engine that has early carbon buildup on the valves because it shoots gas into the cylinder versus over the valves which cleans them... Also has a timing belt instead of a chain. We'll see if I consider this or not I'm interested though👍
The US model added a clip to prevent the seat from flipping over. Check out the video on how to remove the clip. ruclips.net/video/VdG3BAudW2g/видео.html
Pity Australian top trim dose not get near as many features as US 2nd or even 3rd teir trim levels.... Come on KIA obously you can do it yet you choose not to?

So detailed. Thank you
I just got the 2023 SX and it comes with both 12.3 screens it’s an awesome vehicle!
What did you pay for that? Quotes here in NY are really high and im wondering if thats normal or they trying to get over on me.

great video. goes over a lot of detail that you otherwise would miss or not have time to explore during a test drive. thanks!
Glad you found it helpful!
What happens with the movement alert system if you have (leave) a dog in the car? Is the alarm going to keep going off?
Just goes off. It actually SUCKS.

My 2023 SX has both LED screen all the way to my cluster and found to do the turn around seat you have to remove a certain plastic clip to do it

Hai for the turn around the 2nd row seat feature do u try swapping the seat ? (ie swap left to right)
I did try swapping them left to right and couldn't get it locked into place. Its probably doable I just couldn't get it on my first attempt

Don't be dissing on AM radio!
Nice review!
I don't think you van flip the seats due to the screens. Other 8 seat models can do it.
From some of the comments it sounds like it's because the US version doesn't have that feature.
The ol lady and I just got t it for twins due in a month. Immaculate car for safety etc

Not much use for AM radio since Rush Limbaugh died.
