Got goosebumps watching Halldor compete in this. Absolute legend. So cool. This is the best event snowboarding has hands down. (With respect to the halfpipe)
His monster part when he first came onto the scene when I was in high-school was like "yup, him and his brother are my favorite"

It's still got the OG xgames vibes. Snowboarding got really boring when they seemed to have adopted olympic freestyle skiing conformities. It's about being GNAR not being perfect...

Personally liked Dusty the most. The style was there 👌 first run was massive.
I think the straight air was the only thing holding him back tbh

Marcus Kleveland is so incredibly consistent. IMO he wasn't the most creative but everyone else always had dodgy landings which hurt them a lot especially since it's overall impression
Halldor had the better lands than Marcus. Marcus looks so robotic and all his tricks look the same now with extra rotations. Halldor almost landed to flat and still had a cleaner landing. This event was made to showcase creativity to get away from spin to win.

@@Red1676 while it is an event dedicated to being creative, marcus has a tendency to mix it up with butters and everything in between. half of the time i feel people are complaining about his "spin to win" even when hes literally doing the longest and sickest butters before the spin even starts, simply because hes the only one able to pull it off.
Halldor was overall less consistent and had tricks that have been done plenty times before, so lets not take away from marcus by yet again thinking that a double frontflip is somehow "far more creative" than a double cork for some reason.
@@Exata1337 i fully agree and i also think marcus' approach is creative. He had the toeedge take off which nobody else did and ofc his crazy butters. I see this as creative features.
@@Red1676 I'd change the word robotic to 'automatic'. He's just that dialled in he can make the most difficult tricks look easy. It's ridiculous

This is so awesome! Just started snowboarding 7 days ago myself and built a little jump in the front yard. Retired from the Army in Alaska and taking a college course for adaptive alpine skiing and snowboarding, now I'm addicted 😆 🤣 😂.

So close to 3 golds this year! Absolute favourite rider for me. Just so smoooooooth. I love watching people do exactly what they’re meant to be doing. Kleveland just makes it look natural to defy gravity. Beautiful.

To be fair there were a lot of landings missed all across the board so something was definitely hard about the landing. But i Agree

Halldor should've won gold. I know Marcus is very talented and has a lot of skill, but the judges shouldn't be awarding spin-to-win in an event that's all about creativity.

i disagree if zeb or dusty had actually hit their landings every time that would make sense but he went 5 for 5 i think the future of the event won’t see him but he won it this year
@@LostTemplateyou’re missing my point. The judging criteria should be different. They shouldn’t be awarding a double 14 in a creativity event. It’s a very difficult trick, but there’s nothing original about it

Kleaveland is a technical madman, super clean, but in terms of style I got more vibes from Haldors stomps, dustys last move was fcken nuts, and Zeb is gettin fat//sloppy, needs to rework lol.

Halldor should’ve won gold. I love Marcus but Halldor landed all of his runs cleanly and he was super creative
If creativity was the only metric sure, but Marcus stomped everything so incredibly clean and such technical tricks.

So many guys can spin a lot. Should keep this event criteria to airs grabs creativity steez. Gold run was like a slopestyle run, everyone else was more creative.

i agree not enough edge of disaster this year...it looks too clean, some people like that but id like at least one event were the tricks all come with a near miss

I think Fridge has a pillow in the backpack so that if he lands on his back it a softer crash landing.

So happy to see another one of these. Marcus Kleveland was just too dominant to be denied another gold. I really like Moriz Boll's low key 360 butter to 540 7:38 here - the effortless flow of this one had me in awe. That angled landing even seemed to add to the appeal of it 😩

Haldor should have won gold. Can't deny Markus' talent but the whole appeal of this event is the creativity and style. Giving it to Markus is basically just turning it back into big air because he did the biggest spin.
I mean look at marcus’ first two runs. That nose butter was just way too clean. Haldors tricks were cool but we have seen them many times before. He definitely deserves it i think
