    Saw this in Charleston, SC 4/12/2012 for their Encore. By far the best encore I've seen.

    I remember seeing them at Fillmore Charlotte. We encored them back and they performed Pink Floyd's Time. I can't wait to see them again soon

    That last 5 minutes or so, that guitar was 🔥. I was working on mayport naval base in Jaxx and one of the ships had their demo CDs on a table, so I grabbed one. Sometimes great music finds you.

    Who actually dislikes this enough to downvote it? I understand maybe if you are only a metal fan or something so you can't get into happy hearted music, but there's plenty of guitar shredding in Umphreys. There's plenty of everything with UM, they're a versatile band. I'm just so disappointed in music fans these days, that's really what I'm trying to say here.

      +LilStow I never said they were metal, I said I could understand someone not liking this song if maybe they really only listen to death metal or something.

    • @JAGNFL
      @JAGNFL 8 лет назад

      +sirdudal0t Ha no apologies needed bro. I just didn't understand why you got angry with me, when I never said anything negative about anyone, and you obviously misconstrued or flat out misread what I wrote, all I stated was I don't really understand how someone could really dislike this song or their music (unless they only are limited to only to listening to certain genres, like death metal or something haha). You also get all upset because you thought I said anyone who dislikes this is stupid or they like terrible music. And I ended my comment by saying I just think it's sad that this music isn't more popular... do you not agree? You said Mantis was even your favorite song, so isn't it sad that it's not more widely listened to?

    • @sirdudal0t
      @sirdudal0t 8 лет назад

      JJ I still think I do need to apologize. I was being mad sensitive. I just don't care for when people don't get how people could like or dislike things that many people do in fact like or dislike. It's like you're claiming that the set of experiences in someone's life that lead to liking or disliking something are invalid. If we use our imaginations enough I'm sure we can all see how anyone could like or dislike anything given the right previous experiences, which btw are often things people don't even get to choose. It's like drawing a line in the sand and saying you're on one side, and some people are on the other, and implying that everyone that's not on your side of the line is wrong because they didn't have the right childhood.
      But it is just an implication, and at what point do we actually need to oppose people because they're on the wrong side of a particular line? There is a point we do, I just don't know if music preference is it.

    I hate to say it..
    you're no replacement.
    Excuse you cannot buy.
    It seems so aimless,
    too short and painless,
    the truth you cannot hide.
    The troubled measures
    to something better
    there's one more word to try..
    I hate to say it;
    you're no replacement.
    im never good at lies
    im never good with liars
    im never good with lies
    im never good with lies
    (last half of complete amazing cont.)

    This song lyrics represent what it's like to get trapped into a cult under a leader who "preys" on his followers like a Mantis.
    "We believe there's something here worth dying for" joining the cult for its attractive ideology
    "Your will be done I'm not the only one", pledging support for the leader
    "So whats your point
    who's the next you will anoint" seeing the immoral higher-ups the cult leader surrounds himself with
    "There's nowhere to transcend to if we've got no ears to lend you" realizing the ideology offers no chance for salvation
    "I hate to say it
    your no replacement" the narrator standing up to the leader, telling him he's no replacement for a personal sense of spirituality
    "I'm never good with liars" Basically fuck off, I'm leaving
    The final epic guitar solo is the liberation the singer feels from escaping
