I'm Acjachemen. My family came to California about 16000 years ago. When Spanish came, we had no choice. I consider myself catholic but I'm Acjachemen first. No priest can speak our language and nobody knows how much it took for us to see our land taken. Our people taken. My father was there with Russell Means. We're still here.
I am from the paiute shoshone rezervation in. the 760 and we are told as kids that Los Angeles Native people are our relations . Our uto aztecan language was once strong . Multiple words have same meaning.. but the universal dialect is lost.. all the mounted indians spoke Uto aztecan. They took the horse and replaced it with the bible. Now we all not the same.. but when you test your dna. You will see great basin Blood!
Glad to see there are still some descendants of the Native brothers and sisters to the north of us, albeit low blood quantum or not.... their struggle and sacrifices for survival were not in vain.❤️😎✌🏽
Thank you for your feedback. We will pass along the information to the Native advisory council we worked with on the oral history project and exhibit this video is a part of. For more information on it, you can visit our web site listed above.
