The smallest of the two brake levers is supposed to be the independent brake, whilst the big one is the actual train brake... which, y'know, we don't have in game
It's possible it could be intentional by the developers but I wouldn't be surprised if this was a bug of some kind. I've also been having issues with the stake flats just jumping off the tracks or getting stuck.
To be fair there is a bug currently in the game that will cause cars to stick as if their handbrakes are on. Not only that but I was mainly just trying to get power from my locomotive. Thanks though.
@VirtualRailfanProductions no I mean I noticed your top speed never got above 20 or so. I even think it looks like there is a small meter on your reverser that shows and moves. Like I said previously, railroader is realistic in the sense that if the reverser is 100% you only go 15mph max for yard work ect. But if you have it at around 55-60% you will get way more speed

Congratulations on going over 700 subs 🥳
sir i am a retired locomotive engineer i like too see someone that tries to run there own rail road and not smash them up
the Uintah Railway had 7.5 percent grades i dont think they would be doing 20-25 cars lol, cool little railroad though
@@Pivsu true when the steepest grade on my map is about 4%. Still I enjoyed just dragging long hairy trains up grades LOL
Maybe it's just the bells gap no,#1 but it feels like coal burns slower then what it did before the update tho i am running low fuel burn rate

@VirtualRailfanProductions I've had that same issue with the stake flats but only on Pine Valley
I think your problem is your reverser is all the way 100%. If it's like railroader you get more speed the less you have jt forward

@VirtualRailfanProductions so you possibly didn't need the second loco to get over the hill if this is the case
@thefrijole15 No I needed power. Not Speed to get up the hill LOL Getting more speed wouldn't do me any good.
is the Climax still the strongest loco in the game? but limited to 22mph or something like that?
its like mid tier now... been a LONG time since that was top dog
@@jasonkebic741 the current strongest locomotive is the very locomotive in the video, the 2-6-6-2.
