According to all public university rules convering hostels... it is IN-OUT-OUT-OUT.. That is you can only stay on campus or get a public hostel only in your first year... 2nd, 3rd n 4th year you stay outside.... Also you cannot contest in first year...so all executive were not in the hall when contesting... Thirdly, it is important to note That no public university in Ghana has accomodation for all freshers .... On these basis, it us senseless n baseless to disqualify some one because he's a non resident... Guru has a case... the laws should be tested
You cannot disqualify a candidate because of residency. The only thing that can disqualify a candidate is his academic credentials. Maybe the person didn’t get accommodation on campus that’s why they’re non residents but it doesn’t mean they’re not students. The primary matter is their students. What about Grasag position where they have weekend stream students contesting for position?
Current SRC PREZ was a resident in sarbah and was eligible for presidency which he stood for and at that time the election was cancelled and all male residents were sent to diaspora, which he was a part of till he declared to contest for presidency. I believe there should be a constitutional reform because of this in -out -out -out system. The grounds was not a fair one but cannot be legally contested till reformed .
This doesn’t make sense to me man I know so many politicians who does not stay in they constituency and why didn’t them tell him this from the beginning foolish country

This is a calculated attempt not to let him run, the law clearly states, if the student is a level 300 and not a resident then he qualifies. Can the halls take everybody?
@@kwametrump5654 Yes - there can be reforms but not because its Guru - it will have to go through a process. We should not be making decisions based on the fact that he is popular or celebrity or rich - that is how we chose our current leaders and the country is in "SHIT!!"
Everyone in the university is assigned a hall of residence their reason for disqualification is ridiculous. The fact that one doesn't live on campus cannot be used to disqualify sn aspirant
Scanty you’re lying again, the current SRC president was a member of the Jubilee hall before they filed for nomination. He was even part of the Sabah hall before they were sacked and he joined Jubilee
This is a clear misinterpretation of the UGSRC constitution. Non resident student can contest but his or her deputy should be a resident. I can mention at least 3 past Src presidents who were non residents. Well this should tell us that Ghana as a country is nurturing a much more corrupt leadership.

Why...he is not fluent??@@narkieadjei2662
First he should seek an injunction on the election. Then sue to throw out his disqualification. This is ridiculous
