I hope the wild robot will win. So many times better non disney/pixar movies lost just because they were not disney (I still can't believe that the mitchell vs the machine did not win).
"im sick of animation being viewed as a children's medium" "i thought transformers One's animation looked childish" what the fuck are you talking about??
Well he’s not wrong. People do view animation as just a kids thing when it is not exclusive to them. But the way Transformers One was marketed made it seem it would be one of those childish films. But it’s a PG movie meant for everyone, not a full on childish film that only kids can enjoy if that makes sense
I personally believe there is a difference between animation and "childish animation". Transformers One looks very simple and appealing to the younger audience, especially with the trailers marketing the film as a family friendly childrens movie. I understand if you disagree however
The Wild Robot is a movie that I very genuinely believe deserves to win more than any movie released this year. It was such a beautiful movie with an amazing story. I also think that it was definitely better than Inside Out 2.
I think so too! It would be amazing to see it win over inside out 2 (no matter how much I loved it) genuinely because it was an amazing book adaptation and made me cry 5 times lol
Inside out 2 is a Pixar sequel that has never fared well outside of toy story. It's just never going to happen. Moana 2. Is a Disney sequel that is essentially their first theatrically animated sequel since Frozen 2 which didn't even receive an Oscar nomination aside from song. It was snubbed from the animated feature category simply because it wasn't up to par in critical reception or any positive feedback from audiences. War of the rohim might be good, but I don't see that film being as groundbreaking as some of these other ones. Inside out 2 is also a studio capitalizing on popular IPS and Pixar is now notorious for that. We all know that the new animation Renaissance had come with the win of spider-verse and other films from studios that had positively gained the recognition that they deserved. The wild robot is guaranteed to walk away with this as it has received better reviews than any animated film of the year and it's not even close.
Transformers one should and if it doesn't that's actually such a missed opportunity, straight up the best movie I've seen come out this year and in my opinion is better than the rest on this list. We need more eyes on this movie too so I need it to win
@Greenland-Drip , I meant I haven't watched the other movies, and I can tell you one thing, it was absolutely great, I mean, every voice actor was phenomenal, the animation was absolutely stunning, and the story was amazing. Edit: I wrote this 4 different ways because I couldn't decide what to say🤣
Transformers One probably won’t be nominated, like how TMNT Mutant Mayhem wasn’t last year. I think Memoir of a Snail and Flow will likely be nominated alongside The Wild Robot and Inside Out 2, and I think the last slot is pretty open but maybe Wallace & Gromit or Moana 2? Or maybe Chicken for Linda could be the surprise of this year like Robot Dreams?
@@AnnStyle Put yourself in an Academy member position, not a mainstream audience. They would just assume TF1 is a toy commercial, just like they did for Lego Movie and TMNT.

The Oscars have gotten much better at selecting best animated picutre. 2022 and 2023 could’ve been given to PiB2 and ATSV, but instead chosen Del Toro’s Pinocchio and the Boy and the Heron. It’s no longer just the Pixar/Disney award. As much as I loved Transformers One and Inside Out 2, The Wild Robot is peak fiction and Chris Sanders deserves to have one of his films win best animated feature (or best picture)
The Last Wish should've won. Dreamworks only won twice, and the second time was with Aardman. Given how amazing The Last Wish was and the impact it had, it should've won.
@@bowserbreaker2515I’m not really upset about Pinocchio winning since that was a good movie with a lot of heart and effort put into it, though I do agree PiB is the better movie and deserved it more

Hopefully they don’t give it to _Inside Out 2_ for the Oscar considering their hasn’t been any animated sequel (outside of Toy Story 3-4) that won the Academy Award.
It’ll be The Wild Robot. It’s by far garnering the greatest critical reception of the listed films, and Disney were already handed their flowers through the box office.
I think the contenders will be: Inside Out 2, Moana 2, Transformers One, The Wild Robot, and another one that I currently can't think of, so pretty much what's on thumbnail, wish I saw that first.
@DeadEye42069, it's not "kindergarten Transformers," Transformers One is made to appeal to children, not for them. Transformers One is a great movie, with great characters, and a great story. Whether you're a Transformers fan or not, you should watch it and give it a chance. Oh, and the marketing has been really bad at actually giving you the tone for the movie, so when you see it, be ready for a bit of a surprise.
I remember a few years ago some animation trade magazine did a survey of Academy members asking for which movie they voted for for the best animated award and why and asking how many of the nominees they had seen. A large fraction of the voters had only seen parts of the movies when they happened to be in the room when a young child was watching on streaming. When filling out their ballot they'd ask the kid what was that cartoon the kid liked that year and vote for that one. Older members without young kids would ask their grandchildren what they liked. Another significant fraction of voters just voted for whichever movie they remembered seeing a lot of advertising for.
Transformers One was peak Transformers and everyone knows it. Even audience scores had given it the highest rating of any Transformers film ever. But, despite its success, there's no denying. All eyes are on the wild robot. It was the better received sci-fi robot movie of the year that already gave that film so much competition. It was a surprise runaway hit at the box office for also being DreamWorks final in-house film and it clearly showed that they put their everything into it. It's guaranteed to run away with the Oscar win and rightfully so. It's also in talks for about seven more categories, which is something I haven't heard from an animated film in a long time.
@Greenland-Drip Definitely. If it wasn't for my brother being a transformers fanatic, I wouldn't have watched it because of the marketing alone. The movie was great
I think that Inside Out 2 and Wild Robot are the frontrunners and it’s basically a coin flip for who wins but I think the other nominees will be Piece by Piece, Moana 2 and Wallace & Gromit
Wild Robot’s Oscar win will all come down to whether the film wins the Golden Globe, the Annie award and especially the BAFTA Award for Best Animated Feature. The latter award (BAFTA) has been mostly 85-90% accurate in the last 5-6 years with most of the animated films that won the BAFTA later winning the Academy Award. It’s hard to say if _Inside Out 2_ will clinch the prize for the Oscar considering outside of _Toy Story 3-4_ (which remain the only animated sequels to win the Oscar, the other sequels like _Shrek 2, Incredibles 2,_ and especially _Across the Spider-Verse_ which had their first films winning the Oscar they didn’t win the award for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars.
I truly hope The Wild Robot wins next year, giving Dreamworks a Well deserved win ever since, with help with Ardmann, Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the WereRabbit, or Shrek since 2001.
I hope this one indie movie I've heard about wins. That one silent movie about a cat protagonist with a crew of other animals. It gives a Disney short pre-film type of feeling but spanning a whole movie. It's amazing and I hope people at least vote for it.
The Oscars committee for animation has recently become significantly better- but I still don't think there is anything that can stop Inside Out 2 from winning.
Inside Out 2 was the biggest animated movie this year and the most successful one of all time. As much as I love The Wild Robot I don't think it will be able to keep up since it isn't performing nearly as well as Inside Out 2. (Though it does have higher critic and audience scores so we'll see)
I agree that the nominations are getting better, but the vote system... raaaaaah it drive me mad to know that EVERYONE in the academy can vote (not even just animation people). A privilege that only Best Picture also have AND they have a way better system to count votes for BP (go watch eddache video on the subject, it's insane).
I'd like to see the Wild Robot win the Oscar and Wallace and Gromit win the BAFTA or the other way round. But the Oscars and BAFTAs are like the award lottery of the film industry, you'll never know if you win or not.
i know some animated movies are still left to be premiered these two last months of the year and we would’ve have to see how they are, but my money already is for The Wild Robot, it was so so beautiful and tearful
I swear to god if The Wild Robot doesn’t win the industry is rigged, because literally everyone I’ve spoken to has said The Wild Robot was a fucking beautiful movie, some even titling it the best movie they had ever seen, NOBODY HATES THIS MOVIE!!!
The last time a Pixar sequel beat a DreamWorks original was in 2011 where How to Train Your Dragon lost to Toy Story 3. Though unlike 2010, where Pixar had higher acclaim (92 on Metacritic compared to 75) and the box office on their side, here they only have box office (The Wild Robot, 85 on Metacritic to Inside Out 2, 73).
The wild robot or transformers 1,but I’m leaning slightly toward Wild Robot since transformers was already popular, and the wild robot just had some of the most emotional scenes in film history.
Several nice animated movies this year. Inside Out 2 was great, I haven’t seen Transformers One and The Wild Robot yet, but I really want to see both soon, and Moana 2 looks really promising.
i just watched Flow, and i don't know who would win anymore. Flow is very unique with a lot of mysterious plot and lovable characters. the movie didn't have dialogue, so it composite how these animals act and feel. it's up to you how you want to perceived these animals and it's so amazing to me.
I hope they start expanding the amount of nominees because this year we have a lot of non american movies that should get a nomination Look Back, Flow, Memoirs of a Snail, The Glass Maker, etc should get some recognition
The Wild Robot SHOULD win. Inside Out 2 is good but it’s a sequel and not as good as its original. If we want to encourage original films instead of the endless cycle of sequels, we really need this film to get the recognition it deserves
it's crazy how much animation wer're getting this year! There's so much that not only will the mediocre ones not get nominated, but some of the good ones might get left out as well ... the ones you haven't mentioned, but are also rather small indie releases, that seem to get quite some good reviews (I havent seen them yet) are the movies "Flow" and "Memoir of a Snail".
A movie that's looking likely to get nominated that you didn't mention is Flow, which has been making waves at film festivals and is way more likely to be getting nominated than Transformers One, Moana 2, Piece by Piece, and the new Lord of the Rings movie.
🥰🦆🤖🦊Saw Wild Robot and cried seven times. Such a beautiful story of adoption. Saw Inside out 2 in theatres 3x. Such a good film. I hope the wild robot wins! I would like Memoirs of a Snail or Spy x family Code White nominated for fun.
I don’t think Mufasa will get get nominated for Best Animated Feature Film since Disney is trying so hard to market it as a “live action” movie. But would most definitely get nominated for Best Visual Effects
I went to see the wild robot when it came out and when i left i was like "this movie better win something" its the most goregous film ive ever seen and its got an absolutely beautiful story. I really hope it wins
It does seem clear that The Wild Robot is the frontrunner to win best animated feature at the Oscars but hear me out, I think Inside Out 2 should win the Golden Globes. Say what you want about Inside Out 2 being a Disney/Pixar and a sequel but it's just as award worthy as The Wild Robot. And remember ten years ago when a DreamWorks sequel won the Golden Globes and an original Disney film won the Oscars? Yeah that's gonna be in reverse in the incoming award season. Also, here's my predictions for the nomineees (both awards) Golden Globes: Inside Out 2 The Wild Robot Moana 2 Transformers One Piece by Piece Oscars: The Wild Robot Inside Out 2 Moana 2 Flow The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim
I want it to be either The Wild Robot or Flow, but knowing how the awards work it will probably go to Inside out 2. I definetly don't think Inside Out 2 is lazy but if we are talking about innovative animation, that pushes the medium forward, I don't think it deserves the Oscar. Just compare Inside Out 2's animation to the animation of Flow or The Wild Robot, Pixar is chasing realism so much that they lost sight of all animation can acomplish, i've grown so tired of their hyper realistic textures, I want stuff that looks like a drawing or a painting come to life.
It’s hard to say if _Inside Out 2_ will clinch the prize for the Oscar of Best Animated feature considering outside of _Toy Story 3-4_ (which remain the only animated sequels to win the Oscar, the other sequels like _Shrek 2, Incredibles 2,_ and especially _Across the Spider-Verse_ which had their first films winning the Oscar, they didn’t win the award for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars. The reason _Toy Story 4_ won the Oscar despite not winning the Golden Globe, Annie and BAFTA respectively was due to the voters bias on Disney/Pixar and frankly Toy Story 4’s was literally the most baffling and disappointing cause I expected _Klaus_ to win the Oscar as it won the Annie and especially the BAFTA for best animated feature which the latter are usually the most accurate on an animated film winning the Oscar for Best Animated Feature at 85-90%
4:35 well technically 2020 had the demon slayer mugen train movie and not only that was a huge hit during the pandemic, it was the highest grossing movie of that year too.
If wild robot does not win, it is probably REALLY rigged. It got 98% in rotten tomatoes, from both audience and critics. The movie was such a success it will have a sequel already.
I just watched the wild robot in theaters yesterday and I do have to say, that was the best kids movie I’ve seen in a LONG time. Even though the movie had that cliche “robot breaks programming” storyline, it still was amazing to watch. I actually enjoyed watching this movie. From the stunning art style, to the funny dark jokes they threw in there, this was incredible. There were multiple times throughout the movie where I tried my absolute best to not cry during this movie. I definitely recommend you go watch this movie if you haven’t already. Even after watching this movie, I’d still be totally down for going to theaters a second time and watching it again lol
I really think it has to go towards piece by piece or TF one, both of them had STUNNING visuals during key moments in the film, the wild robot looks amazing too but it’s been dreamworld style since the last wish, both piece by piece and tf one had so many amazing visual moments where every frame looked like a literal piece of art, if anything other than those three win we riot.
The wild robot better win 100%. No others animation so far contends. I dare say wild robot deserves to be ranked even among the best films list. I saw the others. There is no competition
I've been hearing so much about "Memoir of a Snail" and how great and thought-provoking it is, yet no one mentions it in these kinds of videos. Maybe its just a little too obscure.
The fact that polish "Peasents" didn't even get nomination for animation category year ago is showing that academy don't give a singel S for mature animation
Inside out 2 is gonna win, I’m just calling it now and if the wild robot wins it will finally bring me hope that the awards shows truly care about animation
Realistically it's gonna be The Wild Robot and I'm excited to see to see the film. I did see Transformers One and personally wish it can receive the same amount of love TWR is getting now cause it's a genuinely amazing film. Hope it'll at the very least get nominated
For the lion king movie, I'd fully expect the people choosing nominations and winners to think it was actually live action so theres no danger of it being nominated for animated feature
I hope Transformers wins, but realistically i think Wild Robot takes this. Still, i hope Brian Tyree Henry gets a nomination for his role as Megatron (that shit was so peak)
Idk who’s gonna win the academy award for best animated feature yet but I know for a fact that inside out 2 and the wild robot are definitely contenders

I know Transformers One won’t win, but I REALLY hope it at least gets nominated. It’s a fantastic movie.
It will be more exciting, adventurous and heroic. Let's hope that Moana 2 and Inside Out 2 are in this category.
If The Wild Robot doesn't win I will be mad. It is 100X better than frickin Inside Out 2.
Unless flow wins…
If The Wild Robot doesn’t win, I’m gonna sue the whole world
The Wild Robot by far deserves it the most
My Prediction for Oscar 2025 Best Animated Feature Nominations:
Inside Out 2
The Wild Robot
Piece By Piece
Flow
Moana 2 / Transformer One
Ya I’m confused why he didn’t mention flow since it was his last video
Flow:won yes oscar
The Wild robot: 🥹
Transformers One: 😞
Inside out 2 : ☺️
Piece by piece:🥹
Moana2:🥹
Correction, Piece by Piece is Universal, not Warner Bros. Warner lost the license to Lego filmmaking a while back
He did say it
8:29 right here
@@smilemations not at the start tho
@@noahthe0tterjust watch the whole video
I think The Wild Robot or Inside Out sounds like they’ll tied up.
Watched Wild Robot, ABSOLUTELY better than Inside Out 2. All that can be hoped for is that the academy sees what I saw
Wild Robot deserves to win best animated feature and best picture
You forgot 2018 when Coco beats The Boss Baby.
@@jadebeor That's true.
Transformers One need sequel.
The Wild Robot need win Oscar.
😭🙏🤖
The wild robot or transformers 1,but I’m leaning slightly toward Wild Robot since transformers was already popular, and the wild robot just had some of the most emotional scenes in film history.
4:30 Not true. Since The Lion King, we've had Shrek 2, Toy Story 3, and Frozen as the highest grossing films of their respective years
Several nice animated movies this year.
Yes flow! I’m shocked he didn’t mention it since it was his last video and he seemed to be intrigued.
I hope they start expanding the amount of nominees because this year we have a lot of non american movies that should get a nomination
Look Back, Flow, Memoirs of a Snail, The Glass Maker, etc should get some recognition
No contender…THE WILD ROBOT will win the Oscars!
Best animated film I’ve ever seen and maybe one of the best movies ever!
IDK if Look Back counts as a feature or a short film but it 100% deserves to win some oscar this year
It's a feature.
The Pherrel Lego film is not at WB, Universal has the Lego film rights now after WB let go of them when the movies bombed
The Wild Robot SHOULD win. Inside Out 2 is good but it’s a sequel and not as good as its original.
If we want to encourage original films instead of the endless cycle of sequels, we really need this film to get the recognition it deserves
I'd say it's gonna be "The Wild Robot"
it's crazy how much animation wer're getting this year!
Wild robot for sure
The wild Robot got my vote
cannot say animation is a kids genre with the pharrell williams lego movie
I know it won’t happen, but I REALLY WANT Transformers One to win or at least get a nomination.
I just wanna see Transformers One in there.
Also, here's my predictions for the nomineees (both awards)
Golden Globes:
Inside Out 2
The Wild Robot
Moana 2
Transformers One
Piece by Piece
Oscars:
The Wild Robot
Inside Out 2
Moana 2
Flow
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim
The reason _Toy Story 4_ won the Oscar despite not winning the Golden Globe, Annie and BAFTA respectively was due to the voters bias on Disney/Pixar and frankly Toy Story 4’s was literally the most baffling and disappointing cause I expected _Klaus_ to win the Oscar as it won the Annie and especially the BAFTA for best animated feature which the latter are usually the most accurate on an animated film winning the Oscar for Best Animated Feature at 85-90%
Inside Out 2 only feels like real life outside of the mind
I want it to be flow so bad, I’m so surprised he didn’t mention it since it was his last video
4:35 well technically 2020 had the demon slayer mugen train movie and not only that was a huge hit during the pandemic, it was the highest grossing movie of that year too.
WILD ROBOT ALL THE WAY! If Inside Out 2 wins, that's fine, but Disney/Pixar won too much.
I am still pissed off that Terrible penguin movie that is called Happy feet won instead of Cars
@@jowelltrejo8430funny that the worst year for animation had the worst winner.
@@StarmisYTP also Wreck-It Ralph should have won The Oscars instead of Brave
Also The Mitchell's vs the machine should have won instead of encanto
@@jowelltrejo8430 Also Klaus should've won instead of Toy Story 4
If wild robot does not win, it is probably REALLY rigged. It got 98% in rotten tomatoes, from both audience and critics. The movie was such a success it will have a sequel already.
The wild robot and transformers one should be the top 2. No disrespect to inside out but those 2 movies are peak
For me, it should go to The Wild Robot hands down
I just watched the wild robot in theaters yesterday and I do have to say, that was the best kids movie I’ve seen in a LONG time.
Transformers one and wild robot best movies to release this year
The wild robot better win 100%. No others animation so far contends. I dare say wild robot deserves to be ranked even among the best films list. I saw the others. There is no competition
Transformers One deserves it IMO it was wrongfully screwed over by bad marketing
Knowing the Oscars, Inside Out 2 will win. But The Wild Robot deserves the win.
I’ll be fine if Inside Out 2 or the Wild Robot to win.
I want flow to win
I mean Inside Out 2 was good, especially compared to everything Pixar made in the last 4 years, but Wild Robot HAS to win this.
the day the earth blew up a looney tunes movie: Am I a joke to you?
The wild Robot seems like an obvious choice, but Flow seems also to be shaping up to be something great.
Bro they abouta pull up with their kids in lego costumes or somethin like “oh how our toddlers love these little lego cartoons ☺️☺️☺️😈☺️”
Inside out 2 is gonna win, I’m just calling it now and if the wild robot wins it will finally bring me hope that the awards shows truly care about animation
The Wild Robot is gonna win, no doubt
The wild robot had me SOBBING and multiple times I hope it gets the award literally one of my favorite MOVIES period.
Personally, I think The Wild Robot should win.
Realistically it's gonna be The Wild Robot and I'm excited to see to see the film. I did see Transformers One and personally wish it can receive the same amount of love TWR is getting now cause it's a genuinely amazing film. Hope it'll at the very least get nominated
Wild Robot made me weep multiple times
Inside 2 was incredible. People need to put respect on animated films
If the wild robot doesnt win anything im actually gonna cry.
