I think your comments are spot on Dave. It doesn't seem like there is a point in doing an end can if you are chasing good sound. FYI for people wondering, the box at the back of the exhaust is a resonator. The Cat is the wider part of the exhaust up towards the headers. I assume you had to cut your exhaust to fit this if you are using the stock headers?
