Christians should realize that per The Gospel of John, Jesus has two criteria that meets his law of a divorce: your spouse cheats on you, or your spouse abandones you as an unbeliever. You divorce for anything else, you are not divorced per God's law. You move on and date, hold hands, kiss, etc., including remarry, this is adultery to Jesus. Don't forget the women at the well: she was on her 5th husband and Jesus talked to her and told her to sin no more.

What constitutes marriage? The Bible does not mention any marriage certificate or i never saw a Rabbi ordain a couple. There is a celebration/party/family gathering, he takes her home and as the Bible says, "and then her new her." This exception, mentioned in both Matthew 5:32 and Matthew 19:9, stipulates that divorce is illegitimate “except for marital unfaithfulness” (NIV1984) or “sexual immorality” (ESV; ISV; NKJV; HCSB; TNIV; NIV).
In the Bible, a marriage was defined as a man and woman living together with the consent of the woman's father or guardian, and attempting to procreate.
The Bible does not include any mention of a license, vows, priest, ritual, prayer, or pronouncement.
The Bible teaches that marriage is a God-ordained institution, not a government-created one.
According to the Bible, a marriage is established when a couple makes a public commitment to each other, and not when they receive a certificate from the government.
The Bible teaches that a valid marriage is made when a couple makes unconditional vows to each other.
Serious Pastor Ed, what consitiutes marriage? Have I been married before? I have always wondered about this.
