      lol i know it's a joke, but . . . . . . . . . this comment may be helpful to people.
to _speak_ a language well, you need ample practice using about 2000 words. so learning the words from a list like in this video wouldn't even be enough for that.
to _read_ a language well (so that you can read arbitrary novels without a dictionary), you need about 10000--20000 words. to get to this level, it's important to begin reading as soon as you can when learning the language, starting with really simple material. learning in context is almost always better than learning from lists.

d, gi, x, r and s sound the same in "standard" Vietnamese (Ha Noi Accent)
But there are differences in dialects:
Especially in the Southern and Central regions often this happens:
d&gi turns to y (as in yankee) while r becomes a rolled-r and s turns to sh (as in shell).
Also the v (as in vulture) changes to y (as in yankee) as well.
      They even have different vocabulary.
But it varies from person to person, town to town, valley to valley,...
Most vietnamese have no trouble with that, but you have to learn it too.
Also I wouldnt recommend this particular recording, they have some mistakes in pronounciation!
