I used to work at a Nursing home in Oklahoma, one of my residents was an "old Hollywood actress." She had several pictures of herself with Clark Gable. I don't remember if they were just coworkers or if they had a romantic relationship but one conversation I remember was her telling me to not focus on work so much. Get married and have children so I don't end up like her. Alone living in a nursing home, childless, with no living relatives. Money isn't everything. Even in her 80s she was so kind and beautiful. This was almost 20 years ago, I can't remember her name, wish I could.

I wished you could recall her name it would've been so cool know who she was and it's quite possible this old Hollywood actress could lived in a retirement home back then they didn't make millions for a single movie 😊😎

@@barbaraharrison3014 I actually thought about trying to Google actresses from that era from Oklahoma. She was in a home in Tulsa and I remember her saying that's why she came back here it's home. My thoughts were if you were a actress then you should have money LoL why come back to this hell hole. But from what I learned they didn't get money like they do today so that made sense.
I got a stomach virus but maybe tomorrow if I feel better I'll do some research. ❤️

Crawford allegedly appeared in a silent stag film when she was broke and desperate. Bette Davis did Little Foxes on screen, not Bankhead, who starred in the stage play. Self harm? Why not say suicide? Barbara Payton was a beautiful woman. Too bad she did not go into rehab.

Poor Dorothy Dandridge! I had no idea that she faced the devastating trauma of custody concerning her only child! On top of all the other challenges that women of color faced in those days. I cannot imagine the anguish she suffered at losing custody of her precious daughter! No wonder she faced declining mental health after all she had been through. The human heart and mind can only take so much! God bless her memory and that of her daughter.😢
