  • Courtney compiles the best ultralight flying videos over the past year in this fantastic collection.

    Note: A LEGAL ultralight is limited to 1 seat and requires no pilot certificate to fly. A 2-seat "ultralight" is, in fact, a Light Sport Airplane and requires a pilot certificate to fly. There is no such thing as a "legal 2-seat ultralight."
    Courtney is an FAA-certified Advanced Ground Instructor (AGI).

    Question: what gps are using on your plane? This is yet another great video.

      I refer to the GPS on Avare when I'm close to controlled airspace which is on my phone. May be upgrading someday. Avare is free if it will work on your phone.

    👍Впечатлен. Под Вашим, Кортни, управлением эта "птичка" с низкой нагрузкой на площадь нормально выносит аэрологию Неба✊️ Учитывая что Вы инструктор, при возможности с удовольствием подучился🦅

    She practices safety first. Always. Notice that she NEVER flies without a helmet. Sure its no fun taking a bug in the teeth or worse, in the eye. Always keeps her speed up and flies well above stall and especially near the ground. She may be a CFI as I notice she flies a coupla different planes including dual. Yep taking lessons is paramount. And don't fly these birds in an area that you can't keep an emergency landing spot within glide range. Remember that we're a flying bowl of gelatin encased inside a balloon as fragility is our middle name.

      Thank you. I'm not a CFI just yet, but working on it. I am however, an AGI - advanced ground instructor.

    I need some help understanding the rule for cas for ultralights

    • @CourtneyTakesFlight
      @CourtneyTakesFlight  7 месяцев назад

      CAS? Airspeed?

    • @_.incredible_magnum._291

      @@CourtneyTakesFlight yes. So rule 103 says that ultralights can go no faster than calculated airspeed of 55 knot. But apparently calculated airspeed and true airspeed are different.
      Also I think the Hummel ultracruise can go faster than 55 knots
