As an African, exact same thing happened with my father. Growing up, he was the leader of the house before he was a dad. His love language was providing and strictly shaping us into better people. But luckily, my father is super intelligent and humble. He is constantly learning and changing, never comfortably living in the assumption that he is the best version of himself. That's the biggest lesson I have gotten from him. In my late teens is when I discovered actual conversations with him. We can laugh, banter, have hour long debates on equal footing, I can even make fun of him now which is something I would never have dreamed of. He even apologises to us which as you guys African/Asians know, our parents usually think they can never be wrong, so it's crazy to experience the better side of things.

That documentary really gave me serious perspective on my life. It made me realise that everyone's going through something. No one is impervius to emotional pain, and when the going gets tough, we should really be grateful for the positive things we have in our lives, as it is the only thing that can keep us in one piece. I'm so lucky to have a family that loves and cares for me, and is willing to support me through thick and thin. Thank you, JJ, for showing me how to be at peace with the things I take for granted way too often.

It is a completely different side of you that a lot of people don't get to see but you wanted to to let people in and show more of yourself. That shows massive growth and love for your fans. That documentary really gave me serious perspective on my life. It made me realise that everyone's going through something. No one is impervius to emotional pain, and when the going gets tough, we should really be grateful for the positive things we have in our lives, as it is the only thing that can keep us in one piece. I'm so lucky to have a family that loves and cares for me, and is willing to support me through thick and thin. Thank you, JJ, for showing me how to be at peace with the things I take for granted way too often.

Been subscribed for more than 10 years. Surreal seeing him at this point of his career. Used to binge watch his old dating simulators and scary moments with his brother and dad.
