This place is great I saw a bear and a bald eagle! Good job capturing the essence in a video. The host Scott was very knowledgeable and helpful with beach fishing. The owner was really kind when I spoke with him briefly. I would stay again.
I’m glad you liked the video! :) This place is great, and for me it’s a perfect location being right in the middle of the park. Thanks for watching, next ADV is to the Lost Coast! Cheers! :)
People stop as they are walking by and will comment on the bike all the time, but this was a bit different 😆 he really liked the bike and had a great conversation, I’m just surprised I caught it on film lol It was a good day for sure 😎👍🍻
The history on the fireplace is that it is all that survived the original lodge/store when it burned down. My wife and I were short term workers when you came by and we are in one of the stills on the deck, I in my UPI sweatshirt and her in the flo green sweat shirt... we were newly retired and traveling the length of 101, stopped in here. Gary found that I was a retired plumber and I did some work around the camp including the new laundry/storage addition behind the store, which took place after your stay. Glad to have met you!
Good to hear from you! I had a wonderful time that weekend. I have been planning a 5 day trip through the Redwoods for this year with one of the nights at Kamp Klamath. (I have a much better camera now 😎) Thanks for the subscribing to the channel! 🍻
@@NorthboundMotorcycleADV Well I hope you have a repeat of that good weekend then! We moved on after I plumbed the new laundry addition for them. My wife and I are in your video of the bbq on the deck. I'm in the faded blue UPI sweat & my wife is in the blaze orange. We continued on down 101 that year, back up to Vegas, on to the big 5 into Utah, down into Baja for the winter. Back up to Utah, over to Nebraska, down into Texas, across to Arizona, down to Mazatlan for the following winter. Back in Arizona now... bought 40a here and building a cabin up against the Chiricahua Mtns. You arewelcome to stop by for a few days if you'd like, just get back in touch with me!
Thanks Bill, Full disclosure, the owner was super nice and did let me stay the night for free and had a big BBQ for the staff and invited me along. It’s really a great spot!
Really enjoyed your tour of the camp I will be heading there for a meet up with the Vistabule teardrop group soon and it will be my first time there and looking forward to it, thanks again 👍
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Sorry for the late response but I’m currently on a 25 Day Rd. trip in British Columbia and Alberta Canada filming my new series for the channel. So stay tune and more exciting adventures to come! Let me know how it goes at Kamp Klamath, there’s some really good folks there! 🍻😎
Watched your video again as I’ll be getting on the road in a couple of days and the owner that couldn’t stop staring at your bike was cracking me up but then I said hay I want to see it too! So maybe in your next video 👍🏼
I’m so glad you like the video, Kamp Klamath is a great place to stay with very friendly people that work there. You’ll have to let me know how your stay there goes, and don’t forget to look at the Klamath river overlook just on the other side of the river if it’s clear. 🍻😎
Just got back home from the trip up north and spent five days at Kamp Klamath, yes it was a treat and the staff OMG! I wanted to move in and never leave. We had four bears that were always visiting and every time they got Chased away I would run to go get a look and they were always gone by the time I got there so I only got to see pictures of them visiting the camp and never got to see them in person lol! Oh well the pictures were cool. Stay safe on your travels.
Nope, a bear would pop open a hard pannier in a minute. Whenever I am camping in bear country I always hang my food in a tree that is not anywhere near my other stuff. I know some people use bear canisters and most National Parks will have them free to checkout and return at visitor centers. I find canisters to big and bulky for my motorcycle so that’s why I hang my food from a tree. Thanks again for watching 😎 Also, the campground in this video has bear boxes to use

Man you should definitely get some free nights camping at Kamp Klamath after the sales pitch you made. It does look nice. Thanks for taking me along.

That’s on my bucket list also and makes me even more excited to pick up my trailer this November.

Would food in hard panniers be considered proper storage against bears?
