Good stuff as usual. My wife is a librarian at our rural community library. And they have just what you are referring to more than books; checking out board games, movies, zoo passes, and they have fun things like Lego club and writer's groups. Other things we have done to reduce expenses is becoming a 1 car family (challenging at first but has been a great way to decrease extra vehicle expenses), pre-paying our propane delivery cuts the price per gallon drastically for us, and we cut the cord to cable well over a decade ago. Keep the videos coming as they are appreciated.
Excellent additions here. I think the 1-car family idea is something I could do if I lived in a more walkable/bikeable community. The motor city is just too ... motor dependent.
Thank you for acknowledging corporate greed. We know there's nuance in the inflation in each sector and certainly have to include government spending in the mix but the gouging of customers is very present, as well.
Thank you for your consistent inspiration this last few months. I feel like you were the air put in my tires after Ramsey put me on a road 4 years ago and Caleb Hammer put gas in my tank last year. Next month I close on selling a condo that's the other end of the state from my new job. In doing so I feel like I am finally on the path to reach Coast FIRE. Bad news is my net worth will be 22k, good news is 15k of that is liquid cash, my burn rate is less than $2500 a month, and my liabilities will officially be 0!
Congratulations on the progress you've made! That condo sale will give financial benefits, yes, but the emotional benefits of not worrying about your condo anymore will be a huge reward for you.

Thank you for the content! I’ll definitely check out my local libraries.
It can be a treasure trove! And if they don't have the things you'd like to see, make your voice heard as you're probably paying taxes there :)
