I'm the lead designer of the game. It's really heartwarming to see how much you are enjoying Classified.
It's also clear how much you 'get' the game and its mechanics! Your tips are spot-on! In particular I'd highlight your last tip. I think the 'morale management' aspect of the game - by which I mean managing the enemy's morale through use of weapons such as LMGs, SMGs and even shotguns - is as important as the killing part of the game. Establishing a base of fire with a machinegun may well be vital for victory. The late game, when enemies like the Waffen SS have high morale, is where these tactics make a huge difference.
Just one minor detail to highlight: the region buffs are randomised at the start of the campaign. You're not always guaranteed to get the Hospital in Nord-Pas-de-Calais. It will change location from playthrough to playthrough.

Hi! Indeed, I'm really enjoying the game :D And, oh wow, I had no idea the region bonuses were randomised, but I think the general idea of prioritising the hospital buff stands XD

@@boringdadgaming Personally, I'd agree with you about prioritising Hospital, but I was surprised by the number of of testers and our pre-release community who just powered on through without it. Particularly if the Hospital popped up in an out-of-the-way region, as can happen with the RNG. It's a perennial surprise how many different way there are to play, and I guess they are all legit.

For spending you skill points, I prioritize the quick perks wherever they are in the tree. My Comba has 16 AP with gear. Bananas good.

Thanks for the tips. I've just completed my first region but have now been distracted by the mission creator which I'm enjoying as well. I was stumbling through with the brief manual that I found in the game's directory. The currently unlisted RUclips mission creator tutorial video is linked in the Steam Discussions FAQ. It was very helpful. The manual is linked as well.

Interesting, haven't checked out the mission builder yet - will have to take a look once I've finished the campaign!

Good list! thanks for that. I have now barreled past your playthrough so I'm in new territory. Speaking of which I don't remember seeing this sort of thing from you before; you did sound quite nervous 🙃 but it was good so I'm sure you will be your usual chill self when you do more!
I popped in to make the same comment as the dev did re hospitals. I haven't needed them much, once so far, & haven't done much rewinding, mostly when I am not sure what was going on. Then I played a mission today which I redid about a million times , 8 enemy ambush 😚

Thanks, glad you liked it! The hospital thing is something I didn't really notice in the early part of my campaign, but later on it got really annoying that I hadn't thought to unlock that region yet, as my soldiers were getting downed and/or broken every mission lol. It's something I definitely wish I'd thought more about in the early part of the game!

    Thank you for this guide.
I really like the way you play the game.
I played the demo and it convinced me to spend the money and buy the Overlord Edition, so I have a little bit of time as well in the game, the game is absolutely brilliant.
Before this I played JA 3 for a very long time.
I really like the moral system, it's like the good old fix and flank very nicely done in this game.

Couple of tips, if you don't mind. I like the style of your channel here, so..
Get the stick grenade, get the No.36 Hand grenade. Both of them are unlimited in the number of soldiers who can carry them. Stick grenade is great for when they are more spread out and you want to damage their morale, regular/No.36 hand grenades are for when you need to kill someone in a ditch, basically.
Get an excellent knife for the scout/s: it won't make a difference on stealth kills, but it will be great for finishing people off, ammo free, when the enemy are shattered and broken in a ditch. Yay war.
All others should have the boot knife upgrade at least (note the infinity sign, meaning once you buy one, everybody has access to one for themselves).
Using a satchel charge is not like any other grenade: it is basically an area-denial weapon. So, when things get too hot, you can lob it to buy your guys a round or two's respite.
If you take the captain/leader 'Anna', then you can run 2 leaders + 2 of your choice, which is very handy when you add the 'order' ability from the captains.
What I like to do - using that 'Marquis Mess' level as an example - is use Cassidy and Anna to swing the two fire teams around each side of the house, staying close together with interlapping arcs, advancing through the ditch/bridge with the heavies taking 'order' when they move, then put them into 'overwatch' locking all the enemies down. Then Anna and Cassidy push up with their few remaining AP, taking a shot at any tasty target. With the high level 'order' ability, you can alternate rounds; one heavy pushes while the other holds, etc.
The great thing about overwatch here is that they will fire on anybody /moving/ in the zone at all, not just 'moving tiles'. I.e. trying to throw a hand grenade, trying to aim, healing, opening a door, etc will all trigger the overwatch gunfire; if it moves in the zone, it gets shot. Add to this the 'kill zone' perk, which allows overwatch to continue so long as you have ammo, and you can use this to very fun effect. (Note that it works for the enemy in the same way).
Also: taking one of the women ensures that you have access to good equipment without having to swap/share, because they have their own clothing.
Sidearms are very important, especially for Scouts and Medics. Some of the best shotguns have only two rounds, and are a bitch to reload; take a good backup.
    Enemy medics must die.
The combat is very well considered, IMO. I also love the little nods to obscure WW2 history.

Brlliant guide...thank you so much. Liked and subscribed :-) I had no idea about the weapon mods that is massively useful. Still getting my head around the game but the mention of breaking enemy morale yeah for sure that looks super important. I would also mention the importance of overwatch, it was a powerful mechanic in XCOM and looks like it's important here too. If I can have at least one of my soldiers on overwatch when I know for sure an enemy is coming from that direction I will try.....but as you have said sometimes it's more important to take a low odds shot if you can suppress or break the enemy.....there is so much to this game I'm still getting my head around it, but also loving it. Gonna start watching your playthrough, looking forward to seeing how you handle the different missions. PS......Boring Old Dad? That is a really cool handle 🙂

    • @DavidKing-ph8or
      @DavidKing-ph8or 7 месяцев назад

also watch your action points........like reloading is 5AP, Overwatch is 3AP, Grenade is 3.......before you move a soldier make sure there is enough AP remaining to go into overwatch or fire or whatever you wanna do......if your guy is stationary and you are just gonna return fire you probably have enough AP to Reload FIRST and still take the shot.....same with overwatch. Quite a few RUclipsrs I have watched have a guy nearly out of ammo, he has 12AP and a good shot.......so they just take the shot and ends that characters turn, you could have reloaded first and still took the shot..........Manage your Action Points!

Thanks for the vid, help my smooth start to the game. Enjoy most part of the game so far, but my biggest disappointment is the skill tree doesn't actually create a new battle experience in the game. Unlike xcom, you actually only get additional effect of particular things instead of new skills that provide better game experience .

    • @boringdadgaming

There is a few things like that in the various trees, like being able to do silent takedowns, gifting allies an additional 6AP etc, definitely keep an eye out for those as they make for a better experience!
