There's the Sonic Paradox one, but I honestly don't recommend it.

I know they wanted to have Chris be a little selfish in the show because yeah he's a kid and Sonic changed his life...But that situation where you prevented Sonic from going home was so bad that I couldn't let it slide. The world was under threat of stopping time as long as the Mobians were there and he risked making Sonic alone stay. And then the implications of taking away Sonic from the rest of his friends that were on the other side of the portal.
And then the fact that it's not like Chris' life was bad. I mean, sure money ain't everything I know, but his parents actually loved him. Openly and Sincerely. They just were busy a lot.
Even then, he had Chuck, Tanaka and Ella who cared for him directly, and his friends at school. But NO, Sonic HAS to stay.
I do however, like Sonic's subtle plan to get Chris to realize the implications of what he did by not fighting back at all and only doing what he said. Making Chris realize that he stole freedom from the being who treasures it the most.
I know Sonic was probably the most cool and "idolization" worthy member of the group, but Chris spent just as much time with the rest of Sonic's pals if not more (Knuckles being the exception since he wasn't a full member). It's weird that his obsession stretched only to Sonic.
Not really. His parents had no reason to be away as much as they did since they were rich enough.
His school friends were just that. Before Sonic came into his life they barely knew each other. Helen didn’t even join the group until mid season 1.
His grandfather states in the Japanese version that he left Chris alone a lot as his reason that he didn’t step in to get his dad to come home.
Chris literally has a valid excuse for how he acts. Everything “good” in his life happened to coincide with Sonic’s arrival and their friendship. Obviously he’s going to associate the two and see that all going away if Sonic leaves.
There is no Mobius in Sonic X. It's just an unnamed planet.
Sonic was the symbol of everything good in Chris' life. His parents started paying attention to him, his grandpa hung out with him, his friends started hanging out with him more all because of Sonic's adventures. It makes sense why he would risk everything because he feared everything would just revert back to what it once was.
Still a dick move, all things considered.

If I had a nickel every time an abridged version of Sonic had a character eat rocks, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
You missed the end credits where Chris turns the machine off and force Sonic to stay forever then says "Cope with me"

You know in the original Sonic 1, one of the zones in the game actually had the words "COPE" in the background so maybe this is actually canon

People say that Chris's actions during the ending are irresponsible and awful... because they are.
But I think they're missing the point, the number one priority in a Sonic story usually is the character interactions, even more than what's actually going on.
So they probably made Chris do that only so they could have a sequence of him letting Sonic go, and Sonic helping him do so.

Which is a good thing since the third season ended up being the best one by a wide margin.

I like how this one stays true to Sonic being funny yet it also feels motivational and emotional at the same time, indicating that even when your feeling lonely and depressed, just one word can change your whole life around in more ways than one.

Not to mention it's not just his loving parents aren't home, they even have Chris fill in for them in important events that they should have been attending but when they get to busy Chris has to step up and be the face of his family.

I love to believe that one of the reasons why he has Sonic stay was because he not only didn’t see time coming to a stop to be a bad thing but he also believed that someday he and Sonic can find a way to bring it so time doesn’t come to a stop and the others can come back and the worlds stay collided.

I love how I've actually watched the series so I know how hilariously inaccurate this is compared to what actually went down. And that's the best part.
