    Hi Monika, I have a question:
    "Szukam pracy."
    Is "pracy" in the genitive case??

    • @PolishwithMonika
      @PolishwithMonika  Год назад +1

      Yes, the verb "szukać" is linked with nouns in the genitive case.
      Szukam dobrej pracy. - I am looking for a good job.
      Szukam taniego mieszkania. - I am looking for a cheap apartament.
      Szukam swojego psa. - I am looking for my dog.

    Dzień Dobry,
    Could you please tell me the rules reading the word "ciężki" ?
    why is "ę" read as usual "e"?
    why does "ż" have sound /ʃ/ but not /ʒ/ ?
    Thank you in advance

    • @PolishwithMonika
      @PolishwithMonika  Год назад +1

      In "ciężki" , "ę" has a nasal sound. It is not the same as usual "e".
      "ż" before a voiceless consonant like "k", becomes devoiced [ż] → [sz].

      @@PolishwithMonika got it, thank you so much.
      What are the rules that explain when sounds change their pronunciation?

      You can check my pronunciation videos to get familiar with the pronunciation rules:

      @@PolishwithMonika sure, I'll watch. But sometimes I google some of rules and find nothing as I don't know what key words I should use.
      Thank you so much.
