🌄🕊️🙂💕
Wow - I don't think I blinked the whole time. Spellbound.
Thank you - that's a wonderful compliment and exactly the effect I hoped it would have :)
I'm still breathless.
Wow.
Just wow.
Thanks :)
Wow! Beautiful music in a beautiful setting! I love the contrast between different themes. Thank you for sharing this with us. 💖🎼🎶🎶
Thanks Patty!
Congratulations on your beautiful performance of this mainstay of orchestra literature. (Barbara Brundage: You did a wonderful job of arranging this!) The striking element of this piece that makes it so engaging is the large, lush chords that sound all the tones of the harmony in a single stroke. You present them beautifully. I am so pleased to hear this. Bravo!
Thanks! Yes, an outstanding arrangement by Barbara Brundage :)
I know Catherine would be / is so proud of all you have accomplished. You are an inspiration to would be harpists everywhere.
Josh, what a Beautiful Harp Arrangement. here in 2020 the world really needs such joy,,, Thank You!
Brilliant performance, technically and emotionally. You make the lever changes look undaunting!
Perfect rendering of a beautiful tune
This piece sounds wonderful on a harp ❤
Your on tour, missing your Harp Tues. binging on your past. Spending a relaxing eveining before courses start with Heather tomorrow. Thank You for being the harpist you are and sharing so much of you journey. Sept, 6/22 So glad covid has relaxed so you got to tour this year.,
One of my favorite lever harp arrangements and a pleasure to play. Thanks for this.
One of my favourite pieces
Lovely! Harp, harpist, and the garden. Thanks, Josh!
Amazing technique on lever harp!!🎶👏👏👏
Wow...bravo!❤
I turned this on for my sleeping newborn and girls who are playing quietly. My husband's ears perked right up and he quietly said, "So good." I whispered, "Josh Layne." He smiled, nodded and said, "Yeah."
I'm serious. We've looked around RUclips for other harpists for our girls to listen to. There's no comparison Josh. Dang!
What a joy. Thank you so much for sharing 🌟✨🙂
Thanks Amber :)
Bravo maestro
loved. Playing this in the orchestra is magical but it is amazing hearing someone play it by them self might be better
It was very beautiful to listen to you play the lever harp so complex. You just proved how diverse type of music you can play on a lever harp.
Absolutely Amazing.
Beautiful arrangement and performance! As an aspiring harpist myself, I hope to one day be able to play pieces like this. Keep up the great work, Josh! I look forward to your next video.
Thanks Brittany!
I am going to learn this piece. PERIOD.
Nice, it will sound great!
One of my favourite pieces....and on the harp. If my fingers could do justice to my C. Excalibur like yours do to your harp I'll be out sailing on those big waters! Thanks!
such feeling, Beautiful
Outstanding!
I've just received this recommendation from a very good harp friend, and from the very first note it has taken a priority spot on my to-do list. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful performance!!
Beautiful Harp Arrangement Josh!
I'm still waiting very patiently on your Harp Tuesday Video I requested to you. Remember that I was talking about playing the Harp Accompaniment of my own arrangement of Chopin's Nocturne No. 20 in C-Sharp Minor for Violin, Harp & Strings? It can either be done on a Lever or Pedal Harp.
But I remembered seeing one of your Harp Tuesday Videos of learning Scheherazade on the Harp, and it's a beautiful arrangement you did!
bravissimo! ideal!
Just stunning, Josh. Tears. Such a beautiful performance!
Beautiful! Now I want to learn this on the harp too! I happen play on a harp exactly like yours!
Impresionante!!!!
Wonderful
Beautiful as ever! 😍 Love it! 🎶🙏
Thanks Anne!
Such a beautiful piece.💕
This is awesome! Excellent performance.
Wow, that was wonderful. And j love that you play such incredible music on a lever harp.
This is so well done and helpful, I watched the tutorial video and it is also very insightful, especially the part regarding listening to the original orchestra piece. Thank you so much for making these videos Josh. There is another piece, Offenbach’s Barcarolle, also an orchestra piece, also arranged by Barbara Brundage, I would love to see your interpretation of it. Thank you again!
Thank you. Excellent playing. Like the scruffy look.
Haha, thanks :)
I play the Maxwell arrangement on pedal harp. I appreciate the way Brundage incorporates more of the themes from the original work. I watched your tutorial videos on this piece several times when I was trying to decide which arrangement I wanted to take on. (There is also the big Fantasie arrangement by ... Boldachev. It truly is a traditional “Fatasie” with all those extraneous cadenzas and ornament sections.) I do play her Clair de Lune on Lever - her arrangements are so well balanced between necessity and faithfulness to original. I’m afraid I will never have THIS much patience with levers! This is a great lever lesson- so smooth. Your videos are such a tremendous resource for so many of us, and I’m so glad you added this lovely performance version in a beautiful location. Exquisite. Thank you.
Thanks Kara! Her Clair de Lune is definitely a lever work out, whee! But an outstanding transcription, as is this :) Glad you enjoyed it!
2:27 just gets me ☺️
Is this arrangement available for purchase? This is one of my all time favorite pieces

wow.
👏
Wow
Have you played her arrangement of Gymnopedie? If so, what did you think of it?
I haven't, but I imagine it's well done! I know a number of people have arranged the first Gymnopedie, and in general it's just a matter of figuring out lever changes. If you feel inspired, the piano original is on IMSLP - you could try your hand at it... :) imslp.simssa.ca/files/imglnks/usimg/3/38/IMSLP01599-Satie_Gymnopedies.pdf
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😢😊
Are you playing Barbara's actual arrangement or your own? I hear wonderful glisses but don't see your hands playing them!
Yep, playing exactly her arrangement! The first time I play the glisses, at 2:50, I'm cutting to a different camera angle, so maybe a little hard to see, but the 2nd time at 3:40 should be quite visible, hopefully :)
the harp broke two strings……In the morning(T_T)
