He love’s Zzz with out a Shirt as Long as he feels the softness of his Blanket So I’ll have a Surprise for him tonight . He’s turning (9yo) he’s my only boy in between two girls!!! I'm working on my blanket, but it is starting to curve. I am on my 4th row and counting my stitches. Do I need to just make my loops even looser?

    • @redesignedrose
      @redesignedrose  29 дней назад +1

      It’s very possible! You want to try and keep your loops as consistent in size as possible. If it’s curving in then your loops are too tight. If it’s curving out then they are too loose.

    Yes, I thank you also! I mean i'm a year or more late to the party about these blankets and was going to take a class. Then my girlfriend told me about a Valentines class last week and it just inspired me to get back into crafting. So, I want to sign up for the class because my gf said she & a few others tried to do it by watching RUclips and hers came out like a "Triangle of sorts", lol so I've been watching a few people's video's and glad I came across it. I actually had watched it before but I like that you take it at a slower pace & I can stop, rewind etc too (haha) but I enjoyed your video very much and Thank You! I already had done the braid part but was getting stuck at the main step #2. Now I think I got it! LOL I think! I'm subcribing & cant wait to see more of you doing fun things! :) I know this is an old video but HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024 to You & Yours! :)

Watched a couple more videos & started over with a new Skein of yarn. I am SO THRILLED with it even if it's not perfect! I'm 5 skeins in and I LOVE IT! I did do 35 loops across because I wanted it bigger! So we'll see when I finish all 8 skeins and then I guess I'll need a video on how to finish it off when i'm done! Thank you again for your video, it helped a lot and now I don't have to pay to take a class and I'm sure they will get better the more I make them! Thank you again and HAPPY NEW YEAR! :)

    How do you determine how much yarn you need? I'd like to make one for my bed, was thinking at least queen size, may just go king (90" x 94" )

    • @redesignedrose
      @redesignedrose  3 месяца назад

      To find the best recipe for that, what I do is create a chain and lay it across the bed to be sure it is as wide as I need it to be. I then work up 2 skeins of yarn and measure how long the blanket is at that point. Then I decide how long I need the blanket and figure out how many more skeins I need to buy :)

      Hi Jen
      Your y-tube video is the perfect teaching tool. Your instruction is easy to understand. Sometimes I find repositioning myself helps me follow your hands and your verbal direction. My sister and I made our first blanket over the summer and we made a few mistakes but we pulled some rows out and we were able to fix what we did. So my sister took that blanket home with her to Florida. I have finished my second blanket and I have to agree with you that it is relaxing, reduces stress and creating this beautiful blanket has made me so proud. I am already looking at yarn colors and planning to make my next blanket for my husband. But I now have a waiting list for future blankets my children and grandchildren all want one too ! You have helped me feel proud of this new and developing creativity I have found.
      The color of this completed blanket is limestone (black, white, gray) and it is just amazing. I will send you a picture if I can figure out how to do it. I really appreciate you wanting to share with all of us this wonderful gift you have.
      Thank You for sharing it with me. Diane Smith from Boston Ma.

    Hi Rose, love love your video. First time making one of these blankets, but so excited to try. I want to teach my granddaughter how to make one of these blankets for her new sister. I have watched other videos but yours is by far the easiest to follow. Thank you for not rushing through, your calmness helps me to keep going. I have had to unravel my blanket several times because I tried with other videos but their instructions were not as precise and easy as yours. I will let you know how it goes. Thank you so much :) I can't believe you have 7 children, where do you find the time?

    Thank you for this! I've just made my first basic chunky knit blanket with one side all knit stitch, other side purl stitch. So I'm excited to try this version next. Question, is that extra stitch that hangs out on the edge to make the neat chain edge, is that part of your initial stitch count or do you include an extra? For example, if you are doing 20 stitches, do you create 21 for your initial chain?

    • @redesignedrose
      @redesignedrose  3 месяца назад +1

      You are so very welcome! I have a few blankets just like the one you already made and I have to say, I love this style more because it allows the blanket a little more drape which I feel makes the blanket even softer :) . The end stitch is included and does help keep the edge straight.

    • @redesignedrose
      @redesignedrose  5 месяцев назад +1

      I’ve done that before! You can take it apart or if you don’t mind you can actually snip the loop and make a knot there then trim the excess. It the fanciest fix but it does work. You’ll be the only one who notices I’m sure 🙃
