To mark the 35th anniversary of the release of Sonia’s epic debut single on June 12th 2024, here’s my solo piano rendition of an all-time Stock, Aitken and Waterman classic.

Despite its commercial and cultural impact, I don’t believe SAW’s astonishing output from the late ‘80s and early ‘90s gets anywhere near the recognition and credit it deserves for the genius of Mike Stock and Matt Aitken’s songwriting.
Stripping back the songs like this, I hope, highlights why they stand the test of time.
