    I am from India.. (Kerala to be precise). We don't think it is rude using left hand like that.. We ourselves just use right hand while doing it & that's it.. Similarly, we use right leg while entering a holy place or even a house.. It is just a way of living.. We ourselves know it is not a big deal.. But, accepting & giving using right hand (or even both hands sometimes) just give out an impression that we're respecting the other person.. mostly that's it.. Sometimes also for devotional reasons, we do that..

      This unwritten rule does not work if the number is too large to say odd/even just after a quick look. No one on a receiving end would intentionally count the flowers, but if you do have just 2-4-6 count - people will easily see it and be insulted.

      Oddly but not oddly, there is no issue raised if you ring a bell in your puja room with the left hand. For practical reasons, your right hand is already occupied - either aarti, bhog, or abhishek - and you just have one other hand to ring the bell.

    It's absolutely correct about India. But mostly people are don't care about that (including me). If you give something using left hand, they will give back to you and they'll say "Give that in right hand😒" . Nowadays mostly don't care about that!

    I am Indian, and don’t worry about the left hand thing. If you are a foreigner we will understand. It’s just because left hand is considered dirty. Just try to use right hand for important things like money and food. It’s not really a big deal though, just enjoy india, it’s truly a magnificent country😊
