Anywhere cheap in Spain is cheap for a reason. I've cycled from Bilbao to Malaga and seen beautiful houses for peanuts in the interior and then you walk and look around and realise why. Anywhere expensive is seeing prices and rents climbing further...... with the struggles of young Spaniards getting on the property ladder l wonder if they can (because they've little choice) make unwanted cheap areas wanted?
Yes big problems with the Spanish property market in tourist areas ,they are priced out of the market due to the influx foreign investments renting out their properties for holiday let’s ….soon to change ,the Spanish tourism ministers are now reducing tourist lets in many areas ,Barcelona are set to wipe out 10,000 holiday rentals with other areas set to follow ..will be up to certain areas to decide,they we’re putting out the the residents in these areas …watch this space 🧐
@@paradiseworldvideos3859 l've been in Jerez for a month, 10 miles inland but still saw anti-tourist graffiti. Cadiz is full of it, you can't go 2 mins without that or flyers and l don't blame them. I've seen it happen in BCN, Valencia, Alicante, Malaga and Cadiz, so the entire coast! A whole generation priced out of their own neighborhoods, l hope the BCN mayor succeeds and other cities follow.
I love that you say you've cycled around, but have you actually lived there? It's not an informed opinion your giving really. I live here, have lived many places previously and can say with an informed opinion it's has a lot to offer. Briefly it's only a forty minutes drive to the coast, has frequent low cost trains to Alicante city, beach and harbour (search Renfe line) and more further afield if course. Good bus links to village of Elda / Petrer 10 minutes away (typical Carrefour, Lidl, sports stadiums, parks). Sax itself has a huge well maintained summer pool and the regular indoor one. Sports centre for paddle, football, tennis, etc. It's has good cycle routes and is very popular for walkers as is on the famous castle route. The vast plano area is full of pines, BBQ zones, camping sites, play park areas, water kids area, pond and shower facilties is free and very well maintained. There are music schools, traditional festivals in February, fantastic nursery, primary and it's main high school. Local parks are clean and tidy, the one having an outdoie band stand for events. There's a small theatre with many free shows, international outdoor cinema in the summer month of August. The local people are super friendly good size English community too, good police presence (too many 😂). Low crime rate, typical consum supermarkets and cafes bars in abundance. There's a main hotel with super friendly staff and a local hostel for budget friendly types too. Some air b & b (again check they have licences beforehand). An opera house close by in Villena ten minutes drive or five by train. The local town hall does well on keeping things clean here and running regular events. They have Spanish clases on offer and tourist services. There are Spanish school and English school for those who want to learn and integrate better. A variety of usual banks such as Santander, Internet services with fibre optic. Medical centre is low on waiting times with a practically zero wait out of hours (open always) Hospital is ten minutes drive to Elda. There's also red cross station in the town, all in all there's a lot more that could say but it better to go see for yourself always. Speaking from my experience of many years it's not offering cheap property because it's limited. The way the system works here is wages are low in Spain generally, properties are generally cheap, people live or commute to inland villages as it where the work is, factories for example are many with the majority being blinds and shoes etc a lot of the shoe designers are made here (I know this as fact but can't write the name here) and marked up, shipped off and sold for hundreds to thousands abroad. Most Spanish have properties handed down to them so will have two houses easily sometimes more, one in campo with pool, one in village. Some sell off the reforms cheaply as its common knowledge brits cone and by them to renovate. So properties are not cheap because there's nothing here they are cheap due to the above mainly and current economy too.
@@tabby9459 l never said it didn't have anything going for it. Places are cheaper for a myriad of reasons, but an umbrella reason is "Not as desirable as....".
I've lived in Gijon & Badalona, looking now at the bay of Cadiz & just spent a month in Jerez finding out why it's cheaper than Cadiz, 15m train away. I also now know why although being close neighbours on the coast, Puerto Real is far cheaper than Puerto de Santa Maria.
Ideally l'd like to move to Alicante, Carolinas areas but it's got very expensive, l can easily move to an inland satellite town, but l don't want to, they are not as desirable as the city & coast.
The best value beautiful homes l've seen have been in Extramadura (Trujillo) & Valladolid (Toro) provinces, but you can't sell them to the Spanish.....
I've been looking at a few properties online in Sax. I was worried that it might be a bit of a ghost town but it is far from it!!!😂😂😂

It’s close by to many places in Spain 🇪🇸 very easy to get about no traffic so can work anywhere.some people start up their own business or bar work ,people advertise on facebook groups for builders ,odd job men , you will get work ,some English companies advertise for English people ,estate agents all types of jobs basically.

Yes that’s what all are doing the main cause of property shortage ( Spanish government trying to address the problem)
You missed the top estate agents in Sax, Alicante Dream Homes just up from the Consum supermarket. Gary who runs it is a top man and what he doesn't know about the area isn't worth knowing. Great video by the way. The second kebab shop is really good value.
