@@marionmarino1616Audrey sadly didn’t get to live as long as many of the other classic actresses shown in this video.
She was much taller than the average woman. 5’7” in her era is equivalent to a women who is 5’9” to 5’10” today.
We have to remember that many of these actresses were handpicked, and were far above the skills and talents of the average woman.
Unlike these oldies women who were talented, today’s Hollywood is degrading and frankly, not worth the time anymore.

At the 1949 Academy Awards she and actor Rock Hudson were commissioned to perform the nominated song, "Baby It's Cold Outside". Mae was worried about looking so small next to 6' 5" Hudson. Tamara Dobson, a glamorous black actress remembered for her 1973 role as Cleopatra Jones, was 6'2". Hope Emerson, who appeared in several movies in the 40s and 50s, notably Westward the Women, was also 6'2". For those with long memories, she was the voice of Elsie the Cow in the 1950s.

I don't remember who the actress was, but one who was slightly over 6' was told by her agent that he would not even try to represent her unless the claimed to be 5' 11 1/2. Allan Ladd was frequently paired with women whose stats said they were shorter than him, but actually turned out to be taller in person. That was thoroughly enjoyable, truly! As one whose only 5'1 3/4, I was shocked by the few who were even shorter than I...like Eleanor Powell, one of my fav dancers of all time! And Mae West!?! She looked a giant on screen! What is the preferred or rather perfect height for women? Queen Liz 1st was told that she had been the perfect height! However, what would you tell one of the most powerful of women--ever? So...
If anyone knows what her height was, I'd like to know it! Thanx again for this very fun and enlightening video! Got anymore in your pocket? ❤ ❤ ❤

I knew they were petite but I didn’t realize how tiny some of them really were. I’m the shortest woman in my entire extended family (you know, aunts, cousins, sisters, etc) and I’m 5’5”. All the other women in my family start at 5’9” and go up to 6’2”. They are forever wondering aloud, in my presence of course, that they have no idea what happened to me. It can be very annoying to be as short as I am because everyone leaves things where I can’t reach them without thinking about it.

Same here. I'm 5'5," my brother is 5'11"(I think) & my late male cousin was 5'8". The rest of my aunts, female cousins & uncles (my daddy too...Momma's side was average height) were 6' or taller. We 3 were the shortest. I used to wonder what happened. Nobody bugged us bout the height differences🤣

Wide open spaces, less population, clean water and nutritious food increases people’s heights over the decades. The questionable substances they put in our food affects things a lot, too, though, like early menstruation and bodies being preserved in their graves many, many years more than before - both icky facts, but facts is facts!
