Unbelievable marriage of the most whitest performance (icelandic/slavic; the lighting as non-racial reference of purity; gospel-choir delivery) interwoven into the most blackest performance (ghettoized narrative, Kendrick + 9th Wonder, obstructive-meaningful alliance). Making the world around me cavalcade a spirit that needs to cry like I got goals to get done for a studio to be accessible for my kid(s) and others.
That being said, the other sample is like two dimensions of ol'school afro R&B (the chics voice harmonized with the guy, but rolling on the hills of a very japanese/east-asian/oriental strings melody layer) and all that in the sample gives such an expressive representation of the Kung Fu Kenny character he brings up in this album.
I want to make all my music to this level of orchestration quality & complexity.

The original song that is sampled for this beat is Ostavi Trag by September, a group from Ex Yugoslavia, this is one of my favorite songs, the Balkans had beautiful music in the 70s 80s and 90s frfr... When I first heard this beat, my praise for Kendrick went through the roof. That aside, this flip is such a great rendition to the original. 9th Wonder deserves his roses for this record, such an underrated piece of hip hop beats.

discovering this was something crazy this album is so special to me, reminds me of a simpler time in my life
But the first beat is easily the best IMO. The switch up into the single heavenly voice is out of this world. Something about those 4 notes gives me goosebumps

Although this is my favorite beat, I appreciate Wonder changing it up with the mood of the lyrics. It switches whenever it goes from gangsters committing crimes and the characters going evil to the characters trying to just survive and push through. This album is what brought me to become a fan of Kdot and 9th Wonder.
