This was the very last gift I gave to my father before he passed away.. I bring the seasoning packet, Del’s and chow me in sandwiches to his grave on Father’s Day. 😭

My dad took me to this place in the 1970's. He introduced me to vinegar on fries. Ever since then, I've been hooked. Providence will always be in my heart.

I've eaten at Olneyville New York System several times as an adult. Love the wieners, love the meat sauce! I grew-up eating them with my Dad. However, my Dad used to bring me to N.Y. Lunch since we lived in Woonsocket. Dad would order two wieners for him and two for me all the way and coffee milk. Two wieners were never enough to satisfy me. Dad used to act like he didn't know. :) He would ask me if I wanted another one when we were finished eating the first two. Of course I said "yes" to another wiener. This was routine every time we went for wieners. When my Dad passed years later I couldn't restrain myself one day. I drove to New York Lunch, ordered and ate 10 wieners all the way plus coffee milk. My craving was finally over. I love and miss you Dad! Thank you for the memories! And thank you, God, for my Dad, the wieners and coffee milk!

Went there this summer. Greg was so friendly and accommodating. Took the time out to talk to my girlfriend and myself, explained why it's called "NY System" and made some great conversation in the meantime. Weiners and coffee milk lived up to the hype. Would definitely go back.

I used to eat there when I was working at the Star Market as a meatcutter on Manton Ave, around the block in the late 80s...

I remember when they were 10 cents. I would eat 12 when I was a kid. There was no glove or covering of the arm back then.

If you go to a local stop and shop in RI you're most likely able to find their original spice in packets for you to make at home yourself!

Let me tell you, I lived in Providence near 'Onleyville'. You have NOT lived until you've had a New Yorker System weiner. For a long time they would stack the buns on their bare arms. NOOOOOOBODY cared! It's almost sacrilege that they have to use paper now (lol). Whenever we go home there's always a trip to Onlyville. I wish they shipped. That, and Del's lemonade.

Shhh...the secret spice is cumin. The base is a Nathan's hot dog, the meat sauce is finely ground beef with mainly cumin added, with yellow mustard and finely diced onions that are sweating for hours, topped with an ample amount of celery salt. That's the recipe, and no one can reproduce it at home. Not even close. @AL.BUNDY above is full of it.
