A tip for next time, I don’t think that was puff pastry you find puff pastry in the freezer isle, I think you bought dough 😭 when you bake puff pastry it’s really airy. ( a good brand is Pepperidge Farm)
Yes, they did need to be softer but they put them in hot water with lemon. I dont think they let them sit in the water long enough or the hot water wasn't hot enough
