I have a twin and I told her to go natural and she did for a few months then relaxed it, now she makes fun of me for caring so much about my hair, imma be the one laughing when my hair reaches mid back and hers still to her neck XD
Mia's Mane oh my god girl, you literally just became a role model for me!!! I literally just did a big chop 2 days ago, basically at the same length you did it and I also did it before going off to college like you lol!! and I'm gonna admit I have been feeling a little insecure because i haven't had my hair this short since I was probably like 8 months😂😂 but honestly you've inspired me and given me a tremendous amount of hope that it'll grow back, and that it'll grow back HEALTHY and CURLY now!!! But I'm also having the problems as to styling it and caring for it since I'm used to my long hair😬😭 so you should definitely do more videos with tips!!! I'm about to watch your other videos right now haha😂 but I just wanted to let you that you really raised my spirit about going natural and thank you😊💖
Thank you for this video. You have given me so much hope. My hair was damaged since perm one. I had to keep it short or it just wouldn't grow right. I'm 37 and went natural a yr ago. This hair is so much better but I am always scared I'm going to wake up one day and it's going to look like it did before. You explained your journey step by step, not just pictures. I'm glad I saw this one first. Patience is a virtue and I appreciate the way you explained your journey so far. You. Are. Awesome.
you are the first RUclipsr in a long time that I can sit down and listen to. A lot of youtubers long videos lack so much personality😩 but yours don’t! 😭I enjoyed listening to your natural hair journey! ❤️
lol I'm so proud of you girl ! It's so funny seeing these old pictures cause it's like hey I know them lol your hair is gorgeous though & so are you doll 😘😘
You Know Who it really did grow fast! I was so shocked the last time I straightened my hair! The way I found out was by looking at the dates of pictures that I posted on instagram. Lol
Congratulations!!! 💗 The struggles you went through, I'm happy you're still determined to keep it natural. And I love the music choice in the background!! 😩💓 Yes, sis, come thru ✨💜 New subbie, and I love your hair! 😍💗
Idk if you know but quick tip: healthy hair burns at 450 degrees ! your hair type can handle 2 passes of a flatiron between 380-400 degrees without getting heat damage !! Especially if you use the comb chase method and still get bone straight !! But your hair is bomb definitely thinking about dying my hair after seeing yours !
I would love if you make a video about giving some tips on what you did when your hair wasnt curling after straightening. That happened to me last week and my hair won't curl I am freaking out. Some tips would be awesome help for most of us who suffer heat damage. Lots of love ❤
Taniyyah Carson lol Watchin this video on my tv and I couldn't comment so to my fone I went just to see if it was just me that thought this. #2018March
You could also use a protein treatment called aPHogee curl texture treatment or something like that. It's amazing. I had really bad heat damage at the front and it bounced back soooo quickly.
Grl your video made me laugh, smile, and get s bit emotional 😭 lol.. I have had the same similar journey.. went threw relaxers my whole life, along with non stop heat damage, braids, twist outs, weaves, sew ins, over-lays you name it I had it lbvvs 😣 I decided to go big chop just 1week ago today!! Was a bit nervous but the last weave I had in took it out and along with half my hair 🤦🏽♀️ was so bad. Head was so sore, hair was matted and shedding horribly.. so instead of getting another weave I decided to just BIG-CHOP & dye it blonde 💁🏽 definitely take some getting use to but I over all love it. Love the color and the easy maintenance, but since I perm it about 2months ago smdh 😣 I lost my curl pattern so now there’s many straight parts and nappy curl then loose curl then straight spiky curls .. shits driving me crazy 😒😒 but when I look at ur video one thing that stuck out was “PATIENCE” one thing I know is I have to have patience with this natural hair journey.... and I will have no choice but it’s very frustrating to want the definition of curls/coils and get 10% of that 🤷🏽♀️ . Just wanna say ur beautiful and fave beautiful hair as well so I’ll stick my ground I’m now a TWA so just starting off.. I went from bra length hair to now this 🤞🏾 wish me luck🙌🏽
Wow ur hair is so cute I am thinking of doing bug chop too I just want my curls to be healthy I have alot of heat damage as well.. so pretty and the color on u gorgeous I'm so scared to dye my hair blonde lol
Are you sure it wasn’t shred hair you lost taking out the braids? Bc it’s suppose to shed being in a protective style that long it naturally does that ?
I just big chopped in March.. i think we might just have the same type hair! 🤤 im being patient w my growth & It have growed so much since then already ..
Your hair color looks really good! I want to color my hair but I'm somewhat scared, lol. I decided to use henna instead. But because my hair is dark brown, the wine red henna color mostly shows up in the light. I want to color it so bad but I'm afraid of damage and I just cut off a lot of heat damage and split ends earlier this year. Idk lol. Anyways! I'm a new subscriber :)
Mia's Mane Well, I took that leap of faith earlier than expected, lol. I dyed my hair today with Clairol's Textures and Tones, the honey blonde one. But because I had the red wine henna in my hair, it just turned it red instead of blonde 😩And I messed up on a few parts so some parts are still dark while the rest is red lol. It's growing on me though, but I hate that I missed a few parts lol
When you were relaxed and then went natural did your relaxed edges fall off while your natural ones grew in or did you cut them.Because my edges are bad right now and I'm relaxed so I'm wondering when I big chop. Will they get better?Sorry I'm asking to many questions.
As my hair grew, the relaxer grew out and I just cut it off. Your edges will prosper, girl. Just throw some coconut oil on it and let it be! Don't put a lot of tension on it and leave them alone
I've done both. I did it gradually this time. Cut the back first, then you will have a bob, then cut the rest as you feel comfortable. Just leave it in protective styles until you have the length you want after that.
Aaliyah Johnson what I did every two week my hair stylist or my mom used to clip my ends instead of chopping my hair since I was in school but whatever works for you
On the roller set, I just use setting lotion mixed with water. No oils until after so that my hair can remain full and lightweight. For everyday, I just use coconut oil, She Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, and Curl Butter by Garnier. :)
Thanks! Do you usually wash you hair before doing the roller set? and which type of setting lotion? I've tried lottabody, but i want to try another brand.
When I was younger (middle school) legit I thought the only kind of nice hair was straight hair ,like I was jealous of my friends hair ,even though they were putting in relaxers to make It like that . I never did my own hair and neither did my mom always a salon. When I started learning how to flat iron my own hair that's what killed my hair. I didn't even realize I had curls , if my hair wasn't straight and done it was in a braid or like pulled in a bun. Now my hair was curly wavy , these days it's just wavy . What's keeping me from cutting it is the social stigmas from my community . I have long beautiful hair but that doesn't mean it's healthy , homegirls hair is dry and can't keep moisture. I want my curls back to life but being black my hair is suppose to be a blessing as is so no one understands ;/
Girl, you gotta forget what they talkin bout!! Do what makes YOU happy! Do what's best for YOU! If they don't accept you for you, then they gotta go too! I say cut your hair! After all, it's just hair!! It WILL grow back! You can do it, girl! Stay strong! 💜
So my face is a lil round lol rounder than most. Probably because of weight but I really want to do the chop. It's been more that 8 months since my last keratin or relaxer
Every time someone tells me they want to big chop, I️ can’t help but say DO IT!! I’m all for a big chop because I’ve seen what they can do for you. And girl, do you not see how big my head is? 😂💀
Lol I was definitely a little confused there. But I have a curly hair routine that mentions all of the products that I use. Also, I do not wash my hair daily. Maybe twice a week depending on how I’m feeling lol. And at night I just wrap it in a pineapple w a scarf. 😊
I hope someone can give me advice I did my big chop yesterday after going 17 months without a relaxer, Only to discover there is heat or color damage on the side of my head 😞 like I tried to put some conditioner on it and it will barely curl like the other side of my head does, and I feel so defeated because I just chopped off my relax ends because I felt I was ready to officially be natural but I can’t even do wash n gos because that one area won’t curl right and it just looks frizzy and I’m at that awkward short hair big chop stage and feeling defeated 😕 I was doing some reading can protein treatments really get the curl back? I’m not going to cut anymore hair because I will literally be dang near bald if I do 😞 Do protein treatments work? Will my hair still grow and be healthy? Or will I have to cut it?
Ive had the same issue. You could try apHogee protein treatment or you can try many protective styles that will help train your hair. Everyone's hair is different, so it is hard to tell.
Mia's Mane good I been going at since 2014. My hair is down to my bra hooks. I started my no heat Challenge last month. Can’t wait in October to straighten my hair to see how long it is.
Partynextdoorrr lol same for me until I realized I did nothing w/my hair. I barely wrap it at night. I hardly moisturize n I ponytail it a lot. In the last 2 months, I've been making sure to remember to keep it moisturized and if I'm not gonna wrap it, I need to twist it and pin it up at night in a very lose bun to keep from laying on the ends n breakin them. Castor oil in my shampoo n conditioner bottles. I use any poo/cond...just add the oils 4 what I need help w/to them. ie:Castor..carrot...tea tree, etc oils. They treat something diff. Acv rince every so often when it feels weighted down w/products. It feels so good and I can actually see growth.
No, I do not. I actually do not have a regimen, really. I just wash my hair if I feel like it or wait it out if I'm feeling lazy. There's no set schedule with my hair. I'm too inconsistent. lol
I'm sorry I agree with Maranda Flinn but your hair looks really dry and damaged from the bleach. Imagine how much your hair would flourish if you quit heat and chemicals:)
I have a twin and I told her to go natural and she did for a few months then relaxed it, now she makes fun of me for caring so much about my hair, imma be the one laughing when my hair reaches mid back and hers still to her neck XD
Justice Jackson Tell her, girl. Get her a--. 😂😭❤❤💯💯✨✨
Justice Jackson bruh💀
👌🏾

I would love if you make a video about giving some tips on what you did when your hair wasnt curling after straightening. That happened to me last week and my hair won't curl I am freaking out. Some tips would be awesome help for most of us who suffer heat damage. Lots of love ❤

So pretty, I loved it before the dye. But it's still pretty 😍
Thank you! I'm not a fan of me w dark hair anymore! Lol
OMG!!! you are so beautiufl and photogenic
Awe, thank you so much!
Are you sure it wasn’t shred hair you lost taking out the braids? Bc it’s suppose to shed being in a protective style that long it naturally does that ?
Oh it was definitely all of the dead hair that wasn't able to shed. That was completely normal, I just wasn't use to it
I just big chopped in March.. i think we might just have the same type hair! 🤤 im being patient w my growth & It have growed so much since then already ..
Just stay patient and enjoy the process!!!
Your hair color looks really good! I want to color my hair but I'm somewhat scared, lol. I decided to use henna instead. I want to color it so bad but I'm afraid of damage and I just cut off a lot of heat damage and split ends earlier this year. Idk lol. Anyways! I'm a new subscriber :)
Thank you!!! You just have to take really good care of it! Try it once your hair gets a little stronger and more healthy.
Think of those missing parts as highlights! lol
When you were relaxed and then went natural did your relaxed edges fall off while your natural ones grew in or did you cut them.Because my edges are bad right now and I'm relaxed so I'm wondering when I big chop. Will they get better?Sorry I'm asking to many questions.

Mia's Mane thank you😊
Im thinking about doing a big chop but I'm scared
DO IT!! I promise you, it WILL grow back and faster than ever! Seriously, this was one of the best decisions I've made in my life!!
I've done both. I did it gradually this time. Cut the back first, then you will have a bob, then cut the rest as you feel comfortable. Just leave it in protective styles until you have the length you want after that.
Aaliyah Johnson you don't have too..
Aaliyah Johnson what I did every two week my hair stylist or my mom used to clip my ends instead of chopping my hair since I was in school but whatever works for you
Aaliyah Johnson Did you do the big chop? I'm doing it right now, and I love it!
What products did you use for the roller set? and what are some of your favorite or everyday products?
On the roller set, I just use setting lotion mixed with water. No oils until after so that my hair can remain full and lightweight. For everyday, I just use coconut oil, She Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, and Curl Butter by Garnier. :)
Thanks! Do you usually wash you hair before doing the roller set? and which type of setting lotion? I've tried lottabody, but i want to try another brand.
Yes, I apply the rollers on freshly washed, damp hair. I use lottabody..I've actually never tried anything other than that
Ok thanks! And you just sat under a dryer or airdryed? I airdryed the first time, and I liked the effect for he most part.
I sit under the dryer and then take them out and pincurl
Tutorial on the side puff plz
wow I love your curly me I about to chop my buut I too afraid 😣.Your video is awesome 😊I like your blone curl😍
Thank you! And just go for it, it will grow back!
what oviduct do you use on your curls day to day and did you say you wash it daily? What is you night routine
What are all of the products that you used to maintain your healthy hair?
All you need is patience and looovvvee❤️
That’s it!
Your hair journey has always been poppin even with damaged hair
Thank you so much!!

Mia's Mane thank you so much , that's so nice , I really needed this ❤️❤️❤️
Damn yo hair grew alot
So my face is a lil round lol rounder than most. Probably because of weight but I really want to do the chop. It's been more that 8 months since my last keratin or relaxer
Every time someone tells me they want to big chop, I️ can’t help but say DO IT!! I’m all for a big chop because I’ve seen what they can do for you. And girl, do you not see how big my head is? 😂💀
Mia's Mane haha thanks for the encouragement. Your vid is very helpful !
lol What Product.....do you use on your curls day to day and did you say you wash it daily? What is you night routine
Lol I was definitely a little confused there. But I have a curly hair routine that mentions all of the products that I use. Also, I do not wash my hair daily. Maybe twice a week depending on how I’m feeling lol. And at night I just wrap it in a pineapple w a scarf. 😊

Oh girl, I'm nobody special. Just blessed w a few opportunities to get out! Lol but thank you!

Girl, yes!! They get too scissor happy and will ruin ya whole day! Lol, how is it going? I hope it’s going well!
Mia's Mane good I been going at since 2014. My hair is down to my bra hooks. I started my no heat Challenge last month. Can’t wait in October to straighten my hair to see how long it is.

I tie my hair in a satin scarf to protect my curls
Very inspiring thank you so much! ❤

Jazzy Jose lol, that means you enjoyed it! 🤗
You shouldn't dyed your hair. It was already beautiful.
You're hair color is so bomb! New subbed alert!! Hope you can take a look at my channel, too. Excited to see more from you!
Thank you so much! It's time for me to touch up on this color! Lol, I will most definitely check out your channel!
Why bleach when that is super super damaging to your hair?
Bleaching is not always damaging. My hair is still healthy and growing.
I'm sorry I agree with Maranda Flinn but your hair looks really dry and damaged from the bleach. Imagine how much your hair would flourish if you quit heat and chemicals:)
