    I have a twin and I told her to go natural and she did for a few months then relaxed it, now she makes fun of me for caring so much about my hair, imma be the one laughing when my hair reaches mid back and hers still to her neck XD

      Mia's Mane oh my god girl, you literally just became a role model for me!!! I literally just did a big chop 2 days ago, basically at the same length you did it and I also did it before going off to college like you lol!! and I'm gonna admit I have been feeling a little insecure because i haven't had my hair this short since I was probably like 8 months😂😂 but honestly you've inspired me and given me a tremendous amount of hope that it'll grow back, and that it'll grow back HEALTHY and CURLY now!!! But I'm also having the problems as to styling it and caring for it since I'm used to my long hair😬😭 so you should definitely do more videos with tips!!! I'm about to watch your other videos right now haha😂 but I just wanted to let you that you really raised my spirit about going natural and thank you😊💖

    Thank you for this video. You have given me so much hope. My hair was damaged since perm one. I had to keep it short or it just wouldn't grow right. I'm 37 and went natural a yr ago. This hair is so much better but I am always scared I'm going to wake up one day and it's going to look like it did before. You explained your journey step by step, not just pictures. I'm glad I saw this one first. Patience is a virtue and I appreciate the way you explained your journey so far. You. Are. Awesome.

    Idk if you know but quick tip: healthy hair burns at 450 degrees ! your hair type can handle 2 passes of a flatiron between 380-400 degrees without getting heat damage !! Especially if you use the comb chase method and still get bone straight !! But your hair is bomb definitely thinking about dying my hair after seeing yours !

    Grl your video made me laugh, smile, and get s bit emotional 😭 lol.. I have had the same similar journey.. went threw relaxers my whole life, along with non stop heat damage, braids, twist outs, weaves, sew ins, over-lays you name it I had it lbvvs 😣 I decided to go big chop just 1week ago today!! Was a bit nervous but the last weave I had in took it out and along with half my hair 🤦🏽‍♀️ was so bad. Head was so sore, hair was matted and shedding horribly.. so instead of getting another weave I decided to just BIG-CHOP & dye it blonde 💁🏽 definitely take some getting use to but I over all love it. Love the color and the easy maintenance, but since I perm it about 2months ago smdh 😣 I lost my curl pattern so now there’s many straight parts and nappy curl then loose curl then straight spiky curls .. shits driving me crazy 😒😒 but when I look at ur video one thing that stuck out was “PATIENCE” one thing I know is I have to have patience with this natural hair journey.... and I will have no choice but it’s very frustrating to want the definition of curls/coils and get 10% of that 🤷🏽‍♀️ . Just wanna say ur beautiful and fave beautiful hair as well so I’ll stick my ground I’m now a TWA so just starting off.. I went from bra length hair to now this 🤞🏾 wish me luck🙌🏽

    Your hair color looks really good! I want to color my hair but I'm somewhat scared, lol. I decided to use henna instead. But because my hair is dark brown, the wine red henna color mostly shows up in the light. I want to color it so bad but I'm afraid of damage and I just cut off a lot of heat damage and split ends earlier this year. Idk lol. Anyways! I'm a new subscriber :)

      Mia's Mane Well, I took that leap of faith earlier than expected, lol. I dyed my hair today with Clairol's Textures and Tones, the honey blonde one. But because I had the red wine henna in my hair, it just turned it red instead of blonde 😩And I messed up on a few parts so some parts are still dark while the rest is red lol. It's growing on me though, but I hate that I missed a few parts lol

    When you were relaxed and then went natural did your relaxed edges fall off while your natural ones grew in or did you cut them.Because my edges are bad right now and I'm relaxed so I'm wondering when I big chop.Will they get better?Sorry I'm asking to many questions.

    • @MiasMane
      @MiasMane  7 лет назад +2

      As my hair grew, the relaxer grew out and I just cut it off. Your edges will prosper, girl. Just throw some coconut oil on it and let it be! Don't put a lot of tension on it and leave them alone

      I've done both. I did it gradually this time. Cut the back first, then you will have a bob, then cut the rest as you feel comfortable. Just leave it in protective styles until you have the length you want after that.

      On the roller set, I just use setting lotion mixed with water. No oils until after so that my hair can remain full and lightweight. For everyday, I just use coconut oil, She Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, and Curl Butter by Garnier. :)

    When I was younger (middle school) legit I thought the only kind of nice hair was straight hair ,like I was jealous of my friends hair ,even though they were putting in relaxers to make
    It like that . I never did my own hair and neither did my mom always a salon. When I started learning how to flat iron my own hair that's what killed my hair. I didn't even realize I had curls , if my hair wasn't straight and done it was in a braid or like pulled in a bun. Now my hair was curly wavy , these days it's just wavy . What's keeping me from cutting it is the social stigmas from my community . I have long beautiful hair but that doesn't mean it's healthy , homegirls hair is dry and can't keep moisture. I want my curls back to life but being black my hair is suppose to be a blessing as is so no one understands ;/

    I hope someone can give me advice I did my big chop yesterday after going 17 months without a relaxer, Only to discover there is heat or color damage on the side of my head 😞 like I tried to put some conditioner on it and it will barely curl like the other side of my head does, and I feel so defeated because I just chopped off my relax ends because I felt I was ready to officially be natural but I can’t even do wash n gos because that one area won’t curl right and it just looks frizzy and I’m at that awkward short hair big chop stage and feeling defeated 😕 I was doing some reading can protein treatments really get the curl back? I’m not going to cut anymore hair because I will literally be dang near bald if I do 😞 Do protein treatments work? Will my hair still grow and be healthy? Or will I have to cut it?

      Ive had the same issue. You could try apHogee protein treatment or you can try many protective styles that will help train your hair. Everyone's hair is different, so it is hard to tell.

      Partynextdoorrr lol same for me until I realized I did nothing w/my hair. I barely wrap it at night. I hardly moisturize n I ponytail it a lot. In the last 2 months, I've been making sure to remember to keep it moisturized and if I'm not gonna wrap it, I need to twist it and pin it up at night in a very lose bun to keep from laying on the ends n breakin them. Castor oil in my shampoo n conditioner bottles. I use any poo/cond...just add the oils 4 what I need help w/to them. ie:Castor..carrot...tea tree, etc oils. They treat something diff. Acv rince every so often when it feels weighted down w/products. It feels so good and I can actually see growth.

      No, I do not. I actually do not have a regimen, really. I just wash my hair if I feel like it or wait it out if I'm feeling lazy. There's no set schedule with my hair. I'm too inconsistent. lol

    Why bleach when that is super super damaging to your hair?

    • @MiasMane
      @MiasMane  7 лет назад +3

      Bleaching is not always damaging. My hair is still healthy and growing.

    • @jazminalvarez3734
      @jazminalvarez3734 6 лет назад

      I'm sorry I agree with Maranda Flinn but your hair looks really dry and damaged from the bleach. Imagine how much your hair would flourish if you quit heat and chemicals:)
