I can just imagine a scene where Starscream is resurrected and he keeps his memories, and then he finds Alexis, she sees him and runs to him, and this music is played during this happy reunion. But no. Instead, Energon happened. ;_;
I also just realized now that there might actually have been a way for the bots and humans to resurrect Starscream, similar to how Optimus was resurrected. Optimus was completely destroyed and shattered, his spark completely disintegrated. And yet, thanks to his connection with the Matrix of Leadership, a small piece of his soul still resided within that, and that small essence was enough for the Mini-Cons to use their mystical powers together to bring him back to life. Well, there IS, in fact, also an item that could have allowed Starscream to be brought back to life, other than whatever way Alpha Q did. The Good Luck Necklace that Alexis wears. She fashioned it from the Mars rock that Starscream brought back from space, a mysterious space rock that we have no idea what is or what attributes it may have. But, as we saw in "Crack", it cracked when Starscream was killed by Unicron. This is, of course, just a Japanese anime omen thing, where objects suddenly either fall onto the ground or break on their own, to signal a bad omen or that something terrible has happened or is about to happen (like how the map ball thing fell out of Budd's pocket in Cybertron when Optimus was nearly killed by Galvatron in their final battle). However, if we are to ignore the fact that it may just have been one of those "bad omens" and symbolism, and instead try to look at it realistically, we can assume that, somehow, the gemstone in Alexis' necklace has a connection to Starscream's soul/spark. Like, maybe it's some kind of mystical gem that bonds with the first living soul that comes in contact with it or something. Regardless, if the necklace does indeed have a connection with Starscream's spark, it's likely a small part of his soul - his essence, perhaps - resides within that gem, since he did touch it and held onto it for quite a while, until he returned to Earth to give the rock to the kids. What if that necklace had the power to bring Starscream back to life, the same way as how Optimus was brought back to life with the help of the Matrix? If the Mini-Cons knew that the necklace was tied to Starscream's spark, and they all worked together just like with reviving Optimus, perhaps their mystical power could have resurrected Starscream as well... Swindle and the Star Saber Mini-Cons would definitely want him back alive, and the other Mini-Cons might get convinced to do it as well, if only they knew. If only Alexis knew. Actually, I think Starscream was the first member of the main cast - named characters - to die for real and not be brought back to life, and have seemingly no way of bringing him back. Optimus' death was sad and emotional, of course, but he came back later, and while Smokescreen had seemed dead for a bit, he was saved and didn't actually die, though they treated him as if he had died. Starscream was the first and one of the, I believe only THREE main cast members to die, the other two being Thrust and Megatron/Galvatron. Well, I guess also Sideways, but since he's a servant of Unicron, the main cast wouldn't be so sad about his death. So having all these named characters, and then have one of them actually die, being STARSCREAM of all of them, the warrior and hero, honorable traitor, loved and admired by the children, especially Alexis, that just hurts so much more than those who got to return to life afterwards. I wonder how things would have turned out if, after Unicron was defeated, Alexis and Swindle may have somehow communicated and thought about the possibility of using the necklace to try revive Starscream, and then did, and this music would play as Starscream is successfully revived, and the kids cry of joy... They had a method, right in their possession all along, and they never realized... and so Starscream ended up being brought back as a mindless slave to Megatron/Galvatron.
When I listen to this it reminds me of the hardships the autobots have suffered and they will continue getting through it as a team and as friends with each other and humanity
I always loved Transformers: Armada, but when I found out about the continue about this story - Energon, I started to watch it and... really disappointed 😞
