Fun fact, when this ride was installed it had a ton of issues that made it pretty unreliable. Silverwood actually hired RMC to consult on repairs. It is now one of the more reliable vekoma giant inverted boomerangs from what I've heard.
We need a resurgence of these kinda boomerangs. The biggest issue became maintainence, and not being as comfortable as expected really. However, with how Vekoma makes track now, I'd imagine most could be fixed. Not that a dueling custom layout isn't cool for a boomerang, but they are basically family or family/thrill and non-inverted. BRING IT BACK VEKOMA!
Every boomerang I see reminds me of riding Sea Serpent back in the day in Wildwood, NJ. Graduation summer of '87 I spent a lot of time down there and rode it countless times. I know they did some upgrades on it last year but I haven't gotten back to ride it again. Absolutely a Vekoma classic.
Six Flags New England needs to switch back to the trains that previously ran on Goliath when it was Deja Vu over at Six Flags Magic Mountain. That way it will go back to being just as enjoyable as this ride right here.
@@coasterhockygamingboy9549 so true. the only one I'd even consider an improvement was the big apple coaster in vegas, and the lapbar+shoulder harness thing being kept was dumb. Smoothness wise they took a "I don't know what to even say" to like a 3 1/2 out of 10 lol. Not helping, you'd think 5 was achievable!
it's all about the cars and the maintenance that makes the difference since there twins. Aftershock is just the better twin. And That's with SFNE being only a hour and change from my house.
OMG!!! Oh man, I miss this coaster back when it was at my old home park being SFGAm ( Six Flags Great America) as DejaVu. The memories of the good days of when it was open and running and the bad days when running over to it and finding out it's closed/broke down for the day.
Giant Inverted Boomerang POV - NIGHT Version!!? I, from Thailand, truly appreciate it!! I wish that there'd be this kind of roller coaster in Thailand (eg. SIAM AMAZING PARK, DREAM WORLD) as well!!
Honestly one of the better older gen Vekoma models. Haven’t been on Goliath at SFNE or this particular one, but I’ve been on Invertigo at KI and I gotta say that thing was not rough at all. I wish there were more of them to be honest. A lot better than regular boomerangs, and DEFINITELY a lot better than SLCS. They honestly are fun little compact coasters.
Hey coster studios I think if u go down to the UK in another Europe trip some time in the future then chessington is a good Merlin theme park to go to and they are getting a new drop tower some time soon it's a family theme park but I think u would enjoy it
When this premiered at SFGAm and I rode it as a kid, it almost ruined coasters for me lol I hated it pulling you up the tower and out of the station the most!

Actually Vekoma Reprogrammed the ride after it left Six flags great America at the end of the 2007 season

I will say that Aftershock is 100x times better than Goliath at SFNE.

@@dojavillager5998 Every boomerang uses a cable lift. The only ones that don't are the family boomerangs which use drive tires.
