This is such a small detail, but I love how Jin Zixuan rolls up his sleeve at 0:48. It’d be so easy for the show to just pretend that these long billowing sleeves are never in the way, but time and again in the show they demonstrate how people actually lived in these clothes. Characters are often seen holding them aside, moving them out of the way, making sure not to sit on them, etc. It makes the characters and world just feel that little bit more real, even when surrounded by magic and monsters.
Wen Ning was overprotected by his sister who did mean well. But I think that Wen Ning was lonely and Wei Wuxian immediately treated him with respect, goodwill, and kindness. It was clear from the beginning that Wei Wuxian liked Wen Ning. No wonder then that Wen Ning tried to help Wei Wuxian whenever he could.
Wei Ying was like an older brother and a protector to Wen Ning, that's why he was so loyal. I also like how Lan Zhan understood that Wei Ying was trying to help and protect him. He might have seen him as a nuissance at first because he made pranks, but then he saw Wei Ying's true nature, aka a good person. Even when he saved the Wen survivors, and they had that argument, Lan Zhan knew in his heart that Wei Ying was right, and because of that, he once again thought about the Lan principles and rules. Same when he gets whipped 33 time and asks Shufu what is black and what is white and so on. Lan Zhan definetly had his knoledge base shaken by Wei Ying. More than that, he questionned everything he knew up to him meeting Wei Ying. And all the adventures and tragedies made Lan Zhan more human, less stuck up in rules, and eventually a husband and adoptive father.

Said it before: Lan Zhan was in fact defeated in that rooftop fight because Wei Ying didn't unsteathe his sword. Then we have the classroom moments: when Wen Chao gets all nasty, Wei Ying first thinks of defending himself and the Jiang clan name; 2nd one there is when he talks about using resentful energies to help (the basics for his later demonic cultivation). Then we have the Water demon exorcism, again he displayed his skills and his kindness (saving Wen Ning and Su She). After that: the episode wtih the lanterns and wishing he can be a protector of the people and living without regrets. When he defends his sister's honor and the clan name by fighting with Jin JiXuan. This is just the start of how Lan Zhan changed his mind and his heart about Wei Ying. Despite being a prankster and a teaser as a teenager, Wei Ying defends and protects Lan Zhan on several occasions, as well after his return as the Patriarch and then re-incarnated. All of this shook Lan Zhan to the core and made him love Wei Ying very much and not waste their 2nd chance at happyness. He already loved Wei Ying, but after his return, he was alot more confident, both in his feelings, as well as in knowing that Wei Ying was right (from the start).
