Nemophila is a fantastic band! You’re gonna hear different ways to pronounce the name and some will argue the way you pronounce it! Nemophila is a genus found in the flowering plant family boraganacaea! The correct way to pronounce Nemophila is Neh-Ma-Filla! But I heard Saki (lead guitarist) say Neh-Moe-filla! Most say Nee-Moe-Fila! Either way they are awesome! Please check out Life! Great story behind that tune! This band has been around for 18 months and are from Japan!!

Awesome reaction. You might love their song Life, very beautiful ballad, emotional song, uplifting. Tissues needed. Their song Raitei is a true banger. It means thunder, and what a thunderous finish to it.
Guitarist Saki on the right is also in the band Marys Blood. Their song Marionette is a banger. And their song, My Starlit Sky is incredible. Marys Blood grew from the band Destrose in 2000s early 2010s. Just as Miho - bass, and Haruna - drummer formed Lovebites from Destrose.
But Saki formed Nemophila with Haraguchi san- bass, and singer Mayu. Nemophila song Life, you might really love, the emotion, the lyrics, Mayus voice is so beautiful in it, and the guitars are emotional. Nemophila formed in late 2019. Drummer Marata Tamu gave birth early last year, took time off, came back , just in time for a live virtual stream in august. Her playing drums, holding back emotion while playing Life, is such a beautiful thing. Hazuki the other guitarist is also in Lisa X band. Nemophila is a blue flower.

  • @hiawatha.g
    @hiawatha.g 3 года назад +34

Yeahhhhh! My pick for best new band of 2020 (they were founded in 2019, began posting their originals early last year). They are a supergroup composed of:
    Mary's Blood guitarist Saki
    ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu
ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X)
    ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and
ex-Soramimi drummer Muratatam (also does other projects)
Other than Saki, none of them had previously been with a breakout band, despite having amazing chops. Getting these five together did the trick-they are just exploding.
Initially, they were just a side project, co-organized by Saki and Mayu. They started off posting metal covers of well-known rock, pop and metal songs. Then they began posting originals, starting with “Oiran” ruclips.net/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/видео.html Their originals show a trend toward harder and heavier.
By the way, "Dissension" does not refer to descending or descent, but to disagreement, ie., dissent.

Since they are a new band .. they haven’t released an album yet ... but I am eagerly waiting for it to drop. They have amazing singles so far and they do a lot of awesome covers too. They are very very talented and they are diverse. I mean they killed a cover of AC/DC’s Whole Lotta Rosie and even did a Kiss cover. They have a bright future for sure. They will blow up big time .. hop on board now. 🤟🏻

You can almost always assume it's a Japanese band. Korea doesn't do much metal, or rock. Certainly not heavy and hard stuff like this. They mostly do pop shit (sorry....but to me it's shit). And Japan pretty much has an amazing metal scene these days. Lovebites, Band Maid, Aldious, Unlucky Morpheus, Nemophilia, Mary's Blood etc ...all Japanese

The absolute best part is this is a passion project. They are sinking their own money into this just so they can make the music they want to make. Sometimes it is like a ballad, sometimes it's heavy, sometimes its this stunning song. Their covers are also top notch, they really love playing the Trooper (Iron Maiden) and say it's probably the song they play that gets them the most pumped.

In Japan they are called a super group due to each member is from a well known band. I'm in love with Murata Tamu the drummer, she is in demand as a session drummer and you can hear why. I also love the guitarist Hazuki who I did not know until now. The leader seems to be Saki from Mary's Blood, another band for you to react too. FYI a Nemophila is a small blue flower.
Their covers of Megitsune (Babymetal) and the X Japan cover are just awesome.

Nemophila is kind of a super band. Saki, the guitarist on the right as we view the video plays in another band called Mary's Blood. She invited some ladies from other bands to form Nemophila. They cover several genres of rock and metal with their original songs. They also do some amazing covers. I think that you would really like their song "Oiran" as it is quite hard as well but very different from this piece. They do an awesome cover of Iron Maiden's "The Trooper."

You reacted to Lovebites live, but I believe this is your first time reacting to Nemophila. Both awesome bands. You should do more Lovebites. And more Nemophila...and while you're at it, some Mary's Blood. They're Saki's (dark haired guitarist) main band, and they basically kickstarted the whole current "boom" of Japanese all-female metal bands because before they were Mary's Blood, 4/5 of them (2/5 now) were in the original lineup of Destrose, which i like ground zero for this whole scene (Miho and Haruna from Lovebites were also in Destrose). Saki was also in Destrose later on, then ended up in Mary's Blood. Plus they rock. "Marionette" is a great song to start with Mary's Blood. Saki will shred your face off.
edit - I always complain that people should provide links so reactors are reacting to the right version, and then I didn't leave a link...d'oh! Mary's Blood - Marionette ruclips.net/video/MLM2unV0kwU/видео.html

Herman Li is most probably aware of them. He said in one of his streams/videos a while ago that he's friends with guitarist Saki (the one on the right of your screen). But Nemophila's music is not really anything like DragonForce. They are not even that guitar centered like a lot of other Japanese bands are. The Japanese band that's closest to DragonForce is probably Lovebites (at least from the more known ones), they even played a few shows together in the UK a few years back.

Nemophila is a super new band though so there isn't a whole lot of original content out. Basically, they were all stars in other bands and join together to form this "super-group". They have a bunch of covers, but the one you need to react too next (and my favorite by them) is Raitei (which is literally thunder and they definitely bring the thunder :)). I'd easily put this up in Band-Maid tier greatness. I could listen to nothing but those two bands and I'd be happy forever lol.

Pronounced roughly Ne-MOFF-fill-a with the accent on the second syllable. People all over RUclips are mispronouncing it. It's actually a regular word that's in the dictionary.

It's pronounced Nemo (as in the cartoon fish) + phila, which is pronounced 'filla' (as in 'fill a hole')

Really great band, they're performing on Thursday as part of the Naon No Yaon show, an all female artist rock and metal Japanese festival. Other performers include Li-Sa-X, Gacharic Spin, and Mary'S Blood. It's being livestreamed if you're interested and you can get tickets for it here: www.visualive.tokyo/products/detail/96 (Press the UK flag at the top to get the site in English).
If you want another track of theirs to react to I'd suggest Raitei, you can find it here: ruclips.net/video/lh-dVLKP314/видео.html
Finally, I don't think you've ever checked out DOLL$BOXX? Another all female Japanese metal group who mix in funk and electro elements with great melodies. They've got loads of great MV's but if you're up for a slightly longer video of ~13 minutes there's this absolutely stunning bit of live footage where they perform 3 songs that really can't be recommended highly enough: ruclips.net/video/EOLZ2gLGwL4/видео.html The songs they perform are Shout Down, KARAKURI TOWN and Sekai wa Kitto Ai wo Shitterunda (translates as "Surely the World Must Know Love?").
