I own a 2013 up here in the high desert of New Mexico. Same British racing green with a few mods. It's not the fastest, nor the most comfortable bike, but it's "good" all the way around. Brakes are not great but you get used to them. What it does right is give you a fantastic feeling. Which is why I like to ride. For the feeling it gives you. It's got good torque, easy to ride around town, and damn does it get a lot of attention. Harley guys, sport bike guys, tourist, women 😉. It's a sexy bike and it does look like a retro/classic bike. Which is the whole point. I think they started throwing more plastic on them around 2016-2017. That's a shame. I ride with a buddy up here that has a 2016 Street Cup and everyone asks about the Thruxton not the Street Cup. Why? Because his looks like an "attempt" to look retro that doesn't quite hit the nail on the head. You need as little plastic as possible as well as chrome parts to look retro/classic. So, if you have a choice, and you want a True modern classic, get the Thruxton 900. They're just damn fun to own and ride. Cheers!
Awesome bike.....modern classic for sure = really crap brakes and suspension etc......but thats the beauty of it...... Its a bike you have to ride, and thats what old school is all about. Love it
Beautiful bike. I was debating getting a Thruxton. I like the classic stainless steel look of the arrows, but I would have to get the Tec pipes. Do you know if these arrows tested here had a baffle in them?
