I am a firm believer that your success rate for *that* MEP2 agility obstacle is way higher if your hands are empty. You know, the one everyone complains about.
To be fair, that time King Roald did unconditionally trust you, the temple guard got killed and you almost let all the evil in Morytania into the rest of the world. So, yea, kind of fair of him to doubt everything you say. Made my day seeing this pop up! Looking forward to the next episode!!
Every single interaction we have with him after that is coloured by the fact that his first impression of us is that we're a complete moron. I love it.
I think Vorkath wasn’t aggressive, so they killed her. Then when they raised her from the dead, Zombie Vorkath was aggressive, since zombies tend to be that way.
Her? Is Vorkath female? Did I miss something? The wiki (where I looked up the strategy, this was the first boss I ever started farming for gp and I'm a massive noob) calls Vorkath 'him'
Players: "We want Old School content!" Dev: "Lets have 50 Agility failchecks in a single quest" Everyone in the world: "what the fuck is wrong with you"
11:20 that very well may be the funniest cutscene in the game! its deff up there with the whole misthalin mystery quest!! lol bobs face was just too fucking funny
Dragon Slayer 2 is the perfect loveletter to Runescape in general. Wonderful quest with an oldschool feel but still fresh with really difficult bosses and truly epic moments. That menu theme moment during the ridiculous agility check is absolute peak RS
Really feels like the fire of desire has been reignited for this series and I couldn't be happier, this has been one of my favorite rs series to follow. Curious if you have any plans for this account after getting the quest cape, would be cool to see more coverage on non quest content like what you did with episode 32.
Dragon Slayer 2 is one of my favorite quests in the game, no doubt. The ending where you run along the destroyed boats and fight the dragons is so cool, all while the most iconic pieces of music in the game plays over it. Such an amazing set piece. HOWEVER... It really counters how climactic it's supposed to be when you keep falling off agility obstacles... Add more dragons to fight as you cross to each ship and make the obstacles infallible...
I've always wanted to finish it, but never have. I've contemplated making an iron over the years thinking it may get me to enjoy the game again & I think that's the only way I'd ever do DS2
that was an insane the amount of procs you hit on galvek during the second attempt! Those hits were all powered by our legend and fallen hero Bob the cat. May he never be forgotten.
I had a very similar experience killing Galvek. The elation in your voice when you finally just barely made it was very nostalgic for me. Tied the adrenaline high I got from my first fire cape.
35:20, the zoom out, the far away voice, your guy doing a little dance, Great Job j1mmy just consistently knocking it out of the park with the editing!
Im glad you showed the whole fight against galvek, I wish more osrs content creator would show one cinematic fight before cutting away to another section.
The rollercoaster of emotions you expressed was exactly how I felt when I completed this quest. That final boss was tough for me when I had never really done bossing before! Well done.
Dude, your content keeps getting better everytime. You had me on the edge of my seat in that final fight. Reminded me when i took him on when i used to play. Thanks for the nostalgia. You humorous take with the socks was actually golden. 🔥 Keep it up Jimmy love ya work dude.
No no, D-Day is perfect. That was such a great scene too, it reminded me of the Blood Runs Deep cutscene where you bring out the fremennik navy against the dagganoths.
Just finished this quest for the first time myself on my duo gim, had a similarly climactic finish. 12 hp, no prayer, no food. Looking forward to the next episode!
Luckily when I did the quest I didn't fail the agility stuff as much, because man, the ambient that part had with the title screen music playing while running around killing dragons touched something in me I didn't even remember I still had and the immersion would've probably been ruined if I spent half the time in the ocean
J1mmy! To make tele tabs you use a bracelet of clay and mine the clay in rimmington. Move your house to rimm, ofc. Never fill buckets for clay, always use a sapphire bracelet for an entire inventory of soft clay!!!! For money, you should always be doing some orbs to profit from varrock dailies. Them staves add up MASSIVELY when you do them every day. One week you might not spend a single gp while you train skills like farming and thieving, but you will have made almost a mill worth of alchables. Thats a spare mill on top of what you are making next week, and the week after. Mine sandstone, grow giant seaweed. Or do your bert daily. The only grind is a short while making runes and running to the obelisk.
I've loved my own questing journey and going through all the great storylines that I sometimes miss doing them. Your series carries me through them once again, love storytelling. And I wonder how often you had to do the battle to get all the shots!
There are a bunch of great osrs content creators, but J1mmy is on another level. These By Release episodes are treated like a Netflix show in my household.
Doesn't the part where you're jumping from ship to ship play Scape Main in the background? When I did the quest, that was the moment that sent chills down my spine. Doing one of the biggest quests in the game with the game's theme song in the background just sends the atmosphere up 1000 notches. Understand the frustration though with all the agility failing. Also, I managed to acquire a quest cape a few nights ago, it's my first cape of accomplishment. Here's to quests!
Hey j1mmy not sure if you’ll get around to seeing this ever but, I just got done with a 9 month navy deployment and between you, settled, and the rest of the boys these vids kept me occupied during the many many hours of boredom. So thanks for that my guy
I think we should name this 'The Battle Where By Release was Super Fucking Awsome and Basically Solo Killed The Dragon And Saved The Whole God Damn World'
Probably the all time best Series/Content Creator among the Old School Runescape content community. Imagine the garbage we would have to watch without you J1mmy. Thank you Jatron
“Jardric, NO!”
hits a 64
“JARDRIC, KEEP GOING!!”
I legitimately laughed at having to take off the shoes- it sounds exactly like something RS2 would have had regardless of whether it’s true or not.
lmao same

I thought keeping your hands unequiped helped with those kinds of agility spots.. or am I mistaken?
Then auras became a thing and you could just use a surefooted aura and not fail anything.
I love that you kick the door and it opens TOWARD you when you get into the big meeting.

The best part of this quest for me was when the Evil Bob random triggered when I was at Bob’s grave after killing Galvek

Well you gotta click on her in order for her to be aggressive. I thought that's what they meant
I’d be aggressive too if someone woke me up from my nap like that
I mean even zombie Vorkath needs to be poked to become aggressive. We're all just meanies harassing her out of her nap.
Her? Is Vorkath female? Did I miss something? The wiki (where I looked up the strategy, this was the first boss I ever started farming for gp and I'm a massive noob) calls Vorkath 'him'

The thing about J1mmy is that his tone and style perfectly match that of the game. He's the perfect person to do such a content-heavy playthrough.
J1mmy: use Audible
Also J1mmy: Reldo is doing the reading for me like I'm a little child baby.

Insane as always! Insane how you keep escaping dying in your ultimate super hardcore ironcore man!
Insane
the lack of redemption during the second battle hurt
I like to think when jimmy yells, "By Releaseeeee!" it's canonically the PC character just shouting his own name to hype himself up.
Sum south park timmy shit lmaoo
"Leeroy Jenkins" vibe

Nice vid! Keep them coming
It's the little things you say that always gets me J1mmy, the "Bob, I know you could teleport".
Its gotta be DDDay, or Dead Dragon Day. Those dragons are going to quake in their claws when they hear that today is their death day
Double D-Day?
@J1mmy does ByRelease have a stutter? It’s time to D-d-d-d-day
Honestly, J1mmy does the best Ad transitions in the RUclips biz. Hands down.
You do some of the best sponsorship ads haha! That nft joke was great lol

This was the most memorable quest I did honestly amazing
Very few things in this world can give us the pure satisfaction that only a cooking range sitting one tile away from a bank can give
J1mmy was to distracted at failing agility checks that he didn't comment on the fact that they used the main theme during that section.
There are a bunch of great osrs content creators, but J1mmy is on another level. These By Release episodes are treated like a Netflix show in my household.
Missed opportunity not doing the Audible ad when the book was read in the varrock library
The zoom out at the end made me laugh harder than it should. Great job!
That ending where it zooms out and your yell echoes, fucking golden. I haven’t laughed that hard in ages.
I'm a simple man, the fading voice in the Audible ad when he was "on a roadtrip" was very satisfying. 👌
Seeing a new J1mmy video on my RUclips means i'm pausing everything else in life to watch.
💜🤣
Lol, 17:17, Warcraft II vibes
Nooo, Bob! Don’t worry, Bob just hopped over to RS3 and still living his best life :)

What a legend of storytelling. Great job, fantastic video, gripping from start to finish.
So, as a F2P player from like....2009
This was my first experience with this quest
It was fantastic
Thank you
Dude, you somehow made all of runescape quests 100x better. This is singlehandedly the (second) best series on youtube. Swampman or die
This was so far the most enjoyed video from By Release series! !
Instead of «D-day» maybe we should call it «Operation Barbarossa»? That way it won’t be confused with a major WWII event
Atomic habits is a life changing book! His weekly e-mail list is really insightful too
I like the little dance at the end as the camera pans out
I love 11:42 when J1mmy recognizes that Jardric is the real hero of the story
Waited until I finished the quest myself before watching this. Totally worth the wait. Love you, Quest Man.
2 years on and "you piss in that kiddy pool" gets me every time
the "by releeeeeassseee" at the end is totally relatable
I wasn't ready to see Bob die again, I audibly gasped when I saw that
That is almost exactly how my Galvek fight went on my GIM!
the cinematic shots when he is dodging the wave / fireball combo attacks are so peak
I like how the teleport animation out of the ad read is a bit faster. Nice little detail.
Sick shot walking after the waves with the fireball
I loved the final battle special cinematography!
loving the editing and the way you explain whats going on in the quests, as i just spam space and dont read the dialogue
"You may have heard of the word 'genres' before... They got a ton of those!"
Who knew your best line would be in the ad?! :D
I love this video in particular. The series is great and all, but this video was the masterpiece of the lot imo.
That last fight was to intense. GJ man and awesome series.
That last phase is so stressful. Not as bad as Vanstrom, but still very tense. I took a victory walk all the way from Burth to the Myth's Guild.
this is hella good timing cause i just finished this quest and now i get to watch you do it just as badly as i did
_"Great work, Jartin!" _
I hope that I am not the only person who noticed that from the chief.. lmao
The mission is called "a day at the beach" since you swim so much.
I'm deaf but I love your content so much I signed up for audible
i havent watched one of these in a minute, glad i tuned in to watch J1mmy dunking on every NPC he interacts with 😂
HEHHEHEH my Book from another world. It was cool reading it.
Jimmy: Pause
Me: "The 100k war 100k times"
That animation of carrying bob is the greatest thing i've ever seen

My fave video so far. So sad this series is slowly coming to as end, but I know I’ll keep coming back again and again. Thanks J1mmy 🥰
Bob getting wrecked literally made me bust out laughing
Thanks for these Jimmy. They make my work days a lot better to have something entertaining to watch on down time.
babe wake up, J1mmy just uploaded
That was the most intense battle i have ever seen my heart was pumping at the end!
