WTTE 28 carried a secondary affiliation with UPN when the network launched January 16,1995 airing UPN programming on certain nights since FOX had a full schedule. WB Affiliate WWHO 53 would pick up a secondary affiliation with UPN in the Fall of 1997 shortly after Paramount Stations Group purchased the station on July 31,1997 along with newly signed on WB Affiliate WLWC 28 in New Bedford/Providence. WWHO would rebrand itself as UPN 53 while carrying The WB Affiliation primary and the UPN Affiliation secondary up until April 2000 when WWHO switched its primary affiliation to UPN and The WB Affiliation became secondary, WTTE would pick up Kids WB programming once WWHO dropped it which lasted until 2001.
