We need a book tag video! The one where you read a tag and select a book from your shelf accordingly. U have so many(personal library) that it would be so fun to watch you searching for one particular book from your 1000+ 😂😂. I mean, I don't wanna torture you into searching such a huge collection, but I kinda do. 😅😂

A book cart is a great reminder to read those books. I use a stack my bedside table as well as a certain designated bookshelf for my top TBR and borrowed books. I always try to flag a borrowed book or DVD with a post-it with the name of the owner on it.
When it comes to destashing books, this is my method. I do it in short spates. I select ten books at a time. And I pick one of these categories:
    1. Books I read and hated and don't want to share
    2. Books I liked but won't re-read, which I can give away to friends or trade in
    3. Outdated reference books or text books or non-fiction
    4. Books that left me feeling "meh" (trade in or donate these)
    5. Duplicates - either give them away or trade/donate
    6. Books I stopped reading and have no desire to complete - just let go! You can always re-buy later if you regret it

I really needed this today. I've been poorly for almost a week with what we thought was an ent infection, turns out it might be f-ing mono (don't ask me how, I'm the singlest pringle in the can and me and my family don't even share cutlery.) Anyway...I had to have my blood drawn which really exhausted me for some reason and because of its I didn't have any motivation to read. Thanks to you, I've found the motivation to read. Hi Jack! This year I’ve been reading more and buying books than I ever have in my life. I had to buy a book shelf and now it’s full. I now have trouble organizing books I buy, but I love owning different editions and finding books from used bookstores. I have a desk that I put the books I’m reading or want to read soon. I like that you’e talking about the books you’re organizing and how you appreciate the covers. Saw your “Death of A Book Seller.” Have you read other fiction books that take place in a bookshop/library? I’ve read “The Lost for Words Bookshop” “How to Find Love in a Bookshop” and “Bloomsbury Girls.” It’s cool to read books with characters who also ❤ books. Good luck!

jack have you ever read any books in translation from israeli authors?? two recommendations are amos oz and meir shalev, I think you might enjoy both of them very much. amos oz's 'a tale of love and darkness' (an autobiography) is a long and difficult read but worth it for a heartwrenching 1st hand account of the 1967 war as a jewish child living in jerusalem in this period. it's incredibly incredibly powerful and I really really recommend it. meir shalev reminds me somehow of chimimanda ngozi adichie in his ability to capture the essence of a culture or a country, especially of growing up there as a child/in your formative years, and to convey it on paper, while relaying the passage of time and the process of maturing and learning as you become older and older and as you expand your understanding of your surroundings beyond the little details of daily life - I recommend 'four meals' or 'a pigeon and a boy'. I really hope you find the time to have a look at these writers whom I think are both super super significant and a valuable read!
