Thanks a lot for this video...Love your videos . I have a doubt , when we insert the lens guard to the 360 lens, is there a chance for scratching on the lens as the lens guard pushes in by scratching over the lens ? Next thing what I need to know is whether the 360 mod can capture 4k videos ? When I tried the 4k option is not getting selected.
The lens guard doesn’t scratch the lens - you just have to be careful. You can shoot 4K in 360 mode but that resolution is shared with the entire 360 image so it will be lower resolution. When you reframe 5.7k it’s usually around 1080 resolution in one direction. If you take the clip into stories it exports at a higher resolution for some reason.
@@EatSleep360 Thanks a ton for your reply. I have ordered an Insta 360 one R 360 Mod and found a dead pixel in the touchscreen. What shall I do? Any suggestions ?

SteAmy Travel Adventures youtube will compress it anyway but go for the highest bit rate if you can wait for it to process and select h.265 which is a more compressed codec but the same quality so smaller file size. Great video Rich - very helpful. I have a question I’m wondering if you can help me with. I’ve been using the Insta360 One R Leica 1 inch to vlog with and for audio I have the Saramonic Blink 500 wireless mic receiver plugged in with the transmitter end in my pocket wired to a lav on my collar. Anyway, I’m confused on the editing workflow with the 1 inch mod footage. It seems that I HAVE TO use either the Insta360 phone app or the Insta360 Studio app on desktop and then export using the FCPX plugin to Final Cut. Is that the case? When I tried to just import to FCPX from the micro sd card the footage came into FCPX in super wide format even though I set the camera beforehand to “linear”. So I guess you have to use the app or the Studio app to set the footage to the FOV I want. Kind of makes setting it on the camera pointless. Is working with Insta360 footage always this 2 step process using the phone app or studio app and then taking it to FCPX afterwards? How do you do it for your RUclips videos? Help!
I use Adobe premiere which had a plug-in via the insta studio. Sometimes I edit direct and other times I edit in studio first. I haven’t tried one inch footage in premiere though. It sounds like it’s giving you Max field of view so you can adjust in post. I think if you select mp4 and not insv codec which I think is possible it won’t give you the wider option and sill stick with linear. I’m not familiar with fcpx- thanks for watching

I tried without the battery as well. Still had the same issue with overheating. I came across one post where someone had tried connecting a heatsink to the back of the core module. That improved their record time for them up to almost one hour. Unfortunately it required them to glue the heatsink to the core with thermal adhesive. I've tried turning off the screen and using a SanDisk Extreme Pro microSD. I was hoping to be able to do long shoots for homes, museums, etc with external audio input so the superior audio could be baked in and let me do most of my editing on my phone. Got the one rs today, is it possible to start and stop by the external mic on my bluetooth headset in my helmet, when connected with bluetooth to the rs?
@@EatSleep360 that should be perfect, how do I start it now while riding my motorbike? I have read somewhere you can start it with the mic on AirPods, almost the same
My issue is that the one R app wipes out my phones memory. I do all my editing on my phone. So... when I tinker around with a 5 minute video recorded from the one R, then try to export it. I find that it TAKES FOREVER to export in 1080p and 4K... FORGET ABOUT IT!!! like 2 hours for a 7min video... then at the end of the export it fails (did it save it's progress.. NOPE!) got start over :(. So why did it fail? turns out it was because all of a sudden there is no room on my phone. So I look around to see whats taking up all my memory...and its the one R app sucking up 25 gigs. What gives?? before my vids are even exported, the app has sucked my phone dry of memory. I get it, 4k vids take up a lot of room, but it seem like its way over sizing still. UGGG So... is there a faster way to get the vids to my phone from the camera, that doesn't wipe out my phone and take a fortnite? I was thinking (and Tried) just removing my SD card and plugging it directly into my mac, then doing an air drop direct to my phone. It was definitely faster getting the info on my phone this way... however it didnt go into my photos album, it downloaded it into 3rd party app i have called "files" and it download .INSV files. which it seems are Unless to me. So now I guess if I want to use this airdrop method, I first must convert the files to a format the iPhone likes, now I'm back to square one, it just takes forever. So I really hope Im just missing something and there's a better way. Can you make a video on this issue. I subbed and will anxiously await. THX
East Tactics thanks for your comment. I can relate to your frustrations - I have 128gb on my 7 plus and that is being hammered. To free up space on my phone I now store all my photos in icloud which does free up a lot of space but is annoying when you want to look at a photo and it’s got to download first. You can clear the cache in the one r app in settings which may help a bit. I haven’t tried downloading a 4k video yet but yes 2 hours is crazy. You could try editing in studio on desktop but I know this defeats the object if you want to edit on mobile. Sorry I can’t be any more help at this stage. Hopefully something will change in a future update to make the process easier.
Eat Sleep 360, thx I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t going crazy. I tossed this frustration out to the world hoping that somebody has a crazy cool idea or tactic to mitigate this issue. Happy to be subbed to you though
This is why I like my GoPro max. Simple and ready to go. I dint need to carry all these mods. Yes Max still needs some improvement but it’s mostly firmware and it will come
RealBox yes I know what you mean - the Max is so close to being the perfect action camera - I have a wish list of updates that I’d love to see, I hope they come soon. The one r will no doubt address their needed updates quicker but it is still a modular system and you can’t get away from that. Thanks for your comment.
to REALBOX - Hi. I still hesitate over the Gopro MAX cluster. I have the same view as you and personally I see if the image of Gopro more natural than from insta360. Could I ask you for 30s of raw video as it comes out of the gopro MAX SD card? I would like to look at the quality without hitting youtube and compression during processing. I would try to play and edit the video. I'd like to talk to you, I have a more question. Well thank you
The small screen sucks especially when the 1” mod is on and the screen is facing forward. My fingers can’t touch the edges to change settings if it’s set that way. Removing the 1” mod from the cage requires disassembly. The battery needs tabs on it so the cage can be left off allowing the battery to be easily removed. A cage that attaches to the tabs or battery needs to be made so a mic can be attached. Remove the overlook of the gap between the battery and camera. Larger batteries to remove the battery hassle. 360 recording lens covers are clunky and get in the picture as well as become a problem when trying to remove them to swap into another mod. I’d rather have a larger camera if it fixed these issues... I’ve only had it for a few days and already contacted them with problems such as CHOCOLATE 🍫 on my boxes! It could be infectious with the coronavirus who knows... I honestly regret the purchase, especially when the idea was good but not well thought out. I wanted too long for a let down especially since I ordered the day of release and it took so long to get I feel like I’d be defeated if I gave up on it without using it. How can I trust a company that cannot deliver something proper especially the manufacturing process; there is no reason to be eating chocolate while packing when germs are on everything you touch.......These are just issues I ran into so your mileage may vary. 🤔👎🏼
PROJECT ANUBIS thanks for your comment - if you look at my review on this channel you’ll see I also had a lot of things I found annoying with the camera. It has grown on me especially with the new updates but this doesn’t take away from the fact that the modular design won’t be liked by everyone. Thanks for watching.
You can set the screen to AUTO-rotate so you just have to flip the camera around until you get the orientation which allows you to access the buttons. Harder still, you can remove the lens-protector from the 1inch mod by unscrewing it in order to access the side of the screen. It's not perfect, but at least its easier than removing all of the gear from the case every time.

Some android users have trouble connecting for some reason - you can try connecting direct to the phones WiFi - if it asks for a pass code it’s 88888888
I CAN'T EVEN GET THE CAM TO WORK !!! It won't connect to my wifi... I have a HTC-U11 PHONE All these video's and NONE With if your phone doesn't connect to wifi to get it up and running ....HELP PLEASE SOMEONE...!!!
Sorry to hear that. There are some work arounds with Android so it’s worth putting the question on the one r Facebook group. All I can suggest which worked with my phone is going to your wifi settings directly and selecting the camera that way. You may then need to put in the WiFi password which is 88888888. Well..there's a faux battery on thingiverse www.thingiverse.com/thing:4298801 that fits perfectly and printed in TPU it will probably outlast the camera. About $.06 (if that) in material and a few hours doing other things while it prints. Not a $2 hose clamp for sure but works nicely so you can still use the frame if needed....There is also a battery cover to protect it's connectors and a cover for the connectors on the mods, quadcopter mounts plus a few other bits n bobs worth printing if you have the tools...hope this helps

I recoded som mountain bike footage yesterday and the chunk of video was choppy. It cleared up at the end but by that time it was useless? Is this just a fluke or can I do something to avoid this from happening
May have been the card was too slow - these sort of errors have been sorted in latest updates.
Eat Sleep 360 I just purchased it 2 days ago..I assume it updated when I connected it to the app. I’ll check again and double check my card

Got the one rs today, is it possible to start and stop by the external mic on my bluetooth headset in my helmet, when connected with bluetooth to the rs?
No unfortunately not - a lot of people want to use the helmet mic with their camera so hopefully they will make it possible at some point
@@EatSleep360 that should be perfect, how do I start it now while riding my motorbike? I have read somewhere you can start it with the mic on AirPods, almost the same
Should be also great when you can talk while filming

360 one r always hang..i pull out the battry then push in back..mm so bad thing
UGGG
So... is there a faster way to get the vids to my phone from the camera, that doesn't wipe out my phone and take a fortnite?
East Tactics thanks for the sub much appreciated 👍🏼
This is something that many reviews don’t talk about. You need a really powerful phone to get it to work efficiently.
syumassh yeah my 7+ only just cuts it
Lol I'm not using the GoPro Hero Max anymore so I'll its bag.
Well thank you
McDjMagicAndrey thanks for your comment - drop me an email at hello@eatsleep360.com and I’ll send you a clip next week
McDjMagicAndrey sorry I just realised this question wasn’t directed to me - if you get stuck I can still help, just let me know, thanks
RealBox yeah this is a big reason I’m stil deciding between max or Insta. Plus, Max our of camera footage in ALL reviews to me looks better
How about adding that it's just for iOS to the title!

I like the prompt sound :/
I am having a horrible time tryi g to connect to the phones wifi
Hope this helps.
@@EatSleep360 SMH...Done it ...oh well guess I'll just return it thanks anyway...
👍🏼🙌🏼
i want be buying this as this as poor customer service
I love that we turn to a 3d printer to make a brittle plastic semi-sollution where a $2 hose clamp and a bit of rubber would be far superior.
That’s a good point and a great cheap solution
Hey man, could you elaborate on that? How would it look like?
Well..there's a faux battery on thingiverse www.thingiverse.com/thing:4298801 that fits perfectly and printed in TPU it will probably outlast the camera. About $.06 (if that) in material and a few hours doing other things while it prints. Not a $2 hose clamp for sure but works nicely so you can still use the frame if needed....There is also a battery cover to protect it's connectors and a cover for the connectors on the mods, quadcopter mounts plus a few other bits n bobs worth printing if you have the tools...hope this helps
"Where are you meant to store the 4K module when not using it?" uuuhhhmmmm Have you tried the box it came in?
I meant when using all the modules out on a shoot - you need to store them after changing them over otherwise they’ll get scratched. I have a video out tomorrow looking at three bags for the insta360 one r.
@@EatSleep360 I know what you actually meant, It was my bad attempt at some humorous sarcasm. The box IS a tad cumbersome for a field trip (If & when we are ever on parole from house arrest)
By the way, I am in a wheelchair, I recently bought the new chair which an All Terrain wheelchair with chunky tires.... I had my Insta360 one R delivered a few days ago & I am now trying to figure out a way to attach the selfie stick to my chair (I'm gonna look like I'm in a Dodgem car at a fun fair LOL)
Aahh sorry I misinterpreted the sarcasm 😂 - on a wheel chair I would buy a Manfrotto super clamp with a spigot -that you can screw the selfie stick to. The mount is really strong and will attach to different parts of the chair. You’ll be able to get some great no-drone-no-problem type shots
I just subscribed and I too make 360 videos and my favorite is the Insta360. Check out my videos. Thanks for making these tips. Great video
Okay, now I'm pissed. Insta360 needs to make themselves available to their customers, not just pose a fake screen of a supposed help group. I just experienced customer support with them for the second time, and it was the same as the first a few years ago. They need to apologize for their unfinished, untried work before they use us as guinea pigs for their hurried products. Remember the batteries and display on the 360 X? I would forgive all if they would just own up to it and repay their customers. It's all about trust.
