The "simple" ones are just relaxing to watch! Thank you, Bruce, for creating these videos. Love watching them. My wife says this small engine addiction is some sort of disease. Must be highly contagious and long lasting... I've been afflicted for years!
You just reminded me Bruce, my 92 year old customer called me last night and wants her “better start on the first pull!” Toro Recycler tuned up for the year. I better get on it!
Jake and i just picked up a 10hp rototiller from a 98 year old gentleman one block over to replace the recoil rope, his son and daughter were there when we returned it but since it had old fuel it would only fire and run with a shot of carb cleaner. He did not want to spend a lot of money so we showed him how to spray the intake with the air filter off and fire it up. When we checked on who was going to be using the rototiller we were shocked that this 98 year old guy IS THE GUY that does the rototilling and still plants his own garden. WQW hope i can still move around never mind run a rototiller through a garden when i get close to that age.
I always “extract” the oil using a siphon to avoid the mess. Thanks for sharing a video of a mower that the owner takes care of. I rarely see an air filter that clean when someone brings me a mower to work on.
Now that is a nice well kept mower Bruce and what we call a basic tune up. Rare to see a fairly clean air filter like that one on a well used mower but maybe you do not have to cut your lawns in Alberta as much as we do in Ontario. Hope the fires are keeping away from your area stay safe buddy.
That’s actually a Loncin engine (“inspired” by Honda lol!). Toro still make this aluminum deck mower, it’s all black now instead of red and it’s called something other than SR4 but here in the US you can still buy them at Home Depot. Big bucks though!
Ah yes the Toro SR4 with magnesium deck, when I get them, I fix em up, and they sell as fast as I can shine em up, the landscapers love em cause they don't rust, usually the ones I get are the quantum briggs versions.... Nice job as always.
Love flippling these SR4 Super Recyclers. That has the "CHonda" motor on it. Chinese Honda clone made for Toro. Dont forget to grease the rear wheels on the SR4's. Should be a grease fitting on both sides.
Hi Bruce, I have that same mower but with the Honda engine. I had a lot of trouble with the rear drive recently, after about 8 years of good service. That rear drive is pretty difficult to diagnose and the parts are very expensive (rear wheels are crazy $$).
That was a nice easy little tune up. I have to ask... hopefully another coming up in a few days??? Are you planning on switching off to parasailing or firefighting or something? 🤣
Ah, cotton wood trees. Hey Bruce, about the Pender lift, wouldn't it be great if it was an air lift? If it had a small air cylinder that you charged once in a while, push the button and up if goes.... save those knees! Challenge!
@@BrucesShop $1.45 a liter??? 1.45 * 3.78 = $5.48 a gallon, your gonna have to stop spilling the grass-o-line! Yesterday, I paid $3.95 a gallon in Beaverton Oregon, I thought that was high!

WOW Does she do it alone?
Absolutely, she mows 1/3 acre twice a week! Her name is Nellie, I’ve known her for nearly 30 years, she’s one tough lady!

You know the valve cover didn't look right. When I said Honda I wondered about that.

I have been asked that before. i use it the way it is. More is just more for me.
Thank you for the video
That was to easy 😊
I was given a Toro mower, newer than that one. The controls take some getting used to.
So true. The ladies like them
@@BrucesShop my feminine side must be coming through, I quite like it
Bruce how do you clean the spark plugs? Good video
I have a wire brush on one of my bench grinders. The I wash it with carb cleaner.
How many threads are on that spark plug? Just the one. And it goes around and around and around. And it comes out here!
This one is 11 or 12. BPR6ES
Well that was easy🤓
Finally I was due.
I see you got some white bunnies helping you out today.
Poplar fuzz?
Is that the 1,000 lb. lift from Harbor Freight? Max height 36 inches.
600 lbs from Princess Auto in Canada.
What model is this? Is it the super recycler?
I don't think so. It is gone now sorry
Petrol in Ireland is 159 euro
Here it is $1.45 Canadian.

Is that Fall fluff or Spring fluff
We have mostly poplar trees out here. Spring fluff.
Where are you buying non-ethanol fuel these days?
At the CO-Op here in town
