Love the series! I’m glad that you made your way to Maine. I’ve been watching these giant crappies being caught out there. Absolutely unbelievable. I don’t think the crappies will be going anywhere, but I don’t think you’ll see any protection given they are an invasive species to Maine. Either way, keep up the good work. The quality of your videos is excellent, and I hope that you can continue making the crappie chronicles for many years. I’ll be buying the cookbook for sure!
On my bucket list. My uncle lives there and his biggest was 19 inches and he tells me that he averages 12 to 14 inches. He tells me they don’t even have a limit and people consider them a junk fish..Keep up the great work guys..Goose Gutzman
Awesome job guys!! It is SO great to see the excitement you all have when you get on a big school or when you catch a donk!! Keep up the great work and hoping for a 4th season!!! Heading now over to order pinks book!
Going out to Unity pond in Unity today. 3+ lbs monsters in there. Locals consider them trash fish, more for me and my buddies ❤ thanks for ahowing how special Maine is
Love it. Another awesome episode!!! So true about the crappie fishery up here. Really great you guys are diving into how great Maine is for a fishery. Awesome seeing you guys enjoy my state that I love.
the fact that you guys promote selective harvest to educate folks about the importance of keeping the genetics strong !!! ..awsome trip guys looking forward to many more ...thanks
Unbelievable what a great couple of videos but this last one daaaaaaaaannnnnnnggggggg those were some what did pink say blimps that’s awesome 😂😂 can’t wait for the next episode also how do you find out the results of the clam tournament anyway keep up all the great work you guys do and keep slamming those blimps 😂stay safe
Bernie! Nice to see ya back man! Thank you so much. Hope we can see you at Giesenbrau tomorrow!? We'd love to finally meet ya! We owe you a beer/beverage of your choice.
Glad to see ya catching some giants. There's a lake in Albert Lea that holds gaints. I know it does cause I seen videos of these 19-21 inchers. My cousin her and her husband with there 3 kids were on tonka and they all caught 2lbers. 10 yrs ago in st Albans bay it was 15 per person tho. They had there limit in 2 hours
Nice slabs guys good to see them go back we have been catching some real toads here in Northern mn I have to pry 15" fish away from people to release i cant imagine a 20" and I don't ever use the real lake names outloud and try not to fish the same spot two days in a row dam people might catch on
Here in Northern Lower Michigan. I cant find a Bump Board like you use,,,,,What Brand and where can I order that unit.. I'm now thinking about a dream Trip East ,, Thanks
they also have insane unprotected pike fisheries there. Someone needs to show the DNR what canada fly in places charge and start protecting that fishery IMO
There will be an announcement of the next livestream sometime in the next video or 2. Should be in the next 2 weeks. The case he uses is made by Clam and the line is Frost Mono in Clear/Pink Metered line. So you can tightline with it is why part of it is pink.
I grew up in Minnesota and moved to Maine in 2007. When I got here Nobody even knew what crappie was and when I started talking to other fisherman they are so focused on the "native" fish and fishing trout that they refuse to accept fish species such as crappie because they could be predators to their species. In fact lake trout are basically killed on site because it's not salmon and I've even had DNR tell my wife that she should have killed a pike she just let go. Not a crime at all but they were not happy. Once I located crappie here it became my go too because I was landing monsters and nobody seemed to be paying attention. That being said. . No crappies here lol!
You live not far from me. I love in Chaska right by the 212 medical building. Would love to go fishing with ya guys. Ya should come to this lake that's right next to me I haven't fished it really but you have to walk to it and there's a ton of crappies in it then Sunny's pike bass. They did a survey in 2019. Was 258 crappies 113 sunnies 16 bass 9 pike. Got carp I think gold fish as well. But ya should go with me I got everything except a vexilar. Been trying i get one for years now. But yeah ya should come with me so we both can have our first time actually fishing this lake . A few people that I talked to said they have caught a few 13-17 inches out it.
im curious, what are the limits down there ? here in zone 18 in southern ontario with a sport license. which is like 5$ more than the other one, you can keep 30 crappies EACH! they have the limit for bluegill/pumpkinseed set at 300! 300!!!!!! 50 perch! its crazy to me, and i see pics every year of these numbers being taken including tons of fish id consider too big. 13 plus inch perch. 14 plus inch crappies, 10 inch bluegills. people dont know what they are doing to our fisheries ! send help lol
At what size do crappies stop being good breeders? I’ve heard once they hit 15 inches they are past their prime for reproducing and passing on the best genes.

How deep before barotrauma kicks in? Lots of release on basin fish’s… 🤔
Here in Northern Lower Michigan. I cant find a Bump Board like you use,,,,,What Brand and where can I order that unit..
I'm now thinking about a dream Trip East ,, Thanks
Thorne Bros has some of the Ketch Boards we use in stock.
As Joe Holland, he’s the Maine crappie master.
Joe is a great guy! He would have been in here but he was up filming with Dudley when we were in town
Are you fishing Candlewood, like Bart mentioned on one of the live episodes, but he sounded unsure when he said it?
they also have insane unprotected pike fisheries there. Someone needs to show the DNR what canada fly in places charge and start protecting that fishery IMO
Exactly!
Ryan pinkalla looks and sounds like Larry Joe Campbell lol I thought it was him at first til I saw the name 🤣
When is the next Q & A? I want to ask Grif to show his case he stores all the pin heads in that he had in show #1 from Maine.
Why is the line pink? What line is it ?
There will be an announcement of the next livestream sometime in the next video or 2. Should be in the next 2 weeks. The case he uses is made by Clam and the line is Frost Mono in Clear/Pink Metered line. So you can tightline with it is why part of it is pink.
@@adambartusek never seen that line before.
Bart where can I find your guide CJ. ?
He’s linked in the description of the video

Have u guys seen any dogman yett?
bro they're freaking out over 1 1/2 pounders 😂 here in VA I had 11 pounds for 5 crappie in one afternoon

There is 0 Limit on Crappie and Perch in the state of Maine. We're trying to help change that.
@@adambartusek that’s insane !
We are starting too see why the 17.5+ fish are truly once in a lifetime. If you guys can’t get them the only thing left is luck.
They’re definitely not easy lol
Íve caught 6 over ¹9 inches and wàs iñ àmàzémént and ràre
At what size do crappies stop being good breeders? I’ve heard once they hit 15 inches they are past their prime for reproducing and passing on the best genes.
Супер 😊
15 1/4 inch but I'll let it slide haha
🔥👊😉🔥
Crappie is an invasive species...here in Maine. People treat them accordingly...
I wouldn't travel to Minneapolis for some crappies and it's only an hour drive. Definitely wouldn't go to Maine.
I catch em in nh and mass and make tacos out of them..
