Love the series! I’m glad that you made your way to Maine. I’ve been watching these giant crappies being caught out there. Absolutely unbelievable. I don’t think the crappies will be going anywhere, but I don’t think you’ll see any protection given they are an invasive species to Maine. Either way, keep up the good work. The quality of your videos is excellent, and I hope that you can continue making the crappie chronicles for many years. I’ll be buying the cookbook for sure!

There will be an announcement of the next livestream sometime in the next video or 2. Should be in the next 2 weeks. The case he uses is made by Clam and the line is Frost Mono in Clear/Pink Metered line. So you can tightline with it is why part of it is pink.

I grew up in Minnesota and moved to Maine in 2007. When I got here Nobody even knew what crappie was and when I started talking to other fisherman they are so focused on the "native" fish and fishing trout that they refuse to accept fish species such as crappie because they could be predators to their species. In fact lake trout are basically killed on site because it's not salmon and I've even had DNR tell my wife that she should have killed a pike she just let go. Not a crime at all but they were not happy.
Once I located crappie here it became my go too because I was landing monsters and nobody seemed to be paying attention. That being said. . No crappies here lol!

You live not far from me. I love in Chaska right by the 212 medical building. Would love to go fishing with ya guys. Ya should come to this lake that's right next to me I haven't fished it really but you have to walk to it and there's a ton of crappies in it then Sunny's pike bass. They did a survey in 2019. Was 258 crappies 113 sunnies 16 bass 9 pike. Got carp I think gold fish as well. But ya should go with me I got everything except a vexilar. Been trying i get one for years now. But yeah ya should come with me so we both can have our first time actually fishing this lake . A few people that I talked to said they have caught a few 13-17 inches out it.

im curious, what are the limits down there ? here in zone 18 in southern ontario with a sport license. which is like 5$ more than the other one, you can keep 30 crappies EACH! they have the limit for bluegill/pumpkinseed set at 300! 300!!!!!! 50 perch! its crazy to me, and i see pics every year of these numbers being taken including tons of fish id consider too big. 13 plus inch perch. 14 plus inch crappies, 10 inch bluegills. people dont know what they are doing to our fisheries ! send help lol
