- This week Steve Genson with Genson's Fish Hunts (fishhunts.com) talks about how he works a Bulldawg during the different parts of a musky season. If you are looking for an amazing selection of Bulldawgs visit www.teamrhinooutdoors.com
"I catch 100`s of muskies on these every year" LOL......
Great tips guys. What type of mount is he using for that humminbird?
Can you please advise on the rod you're using in this video - is it St. Croix Big Dawg?
Sorry just saw this comment. Yes it’s the Big Dawg from St. Croix.
thanks for the video
Thank you for watching. Good Luck fishing.
Heard that split grip can make your ribs sore ripping Bull Dawg, you seem to be working it with ease, I heard the split grip good for figure 8 and casting, but full grip seems to be the way to go for ripping Mags and Pounders. What's your preference?
I prefer full cork rods for almost everything. Steve likes the split grip in this video because on this St Croix rod the butt of the rod is a little longer in that model vs the full cork. It's really a personal preference thing.
@@TeamRhinoOutdoors thanks for the input, yep, just trying to figure what grip I should go with for ripping rubber.
Can confirm split grips will beat up your ribs, especially when you’re dressed for warm weather and have less padding in.
@@esoxaddict2197 thanks so much, don't have a lot of options at the fishing stores around me, gonna make sure I get full grip
great tips
Thanks for watching Rory. Good Luck fishing this year.
I want to ask, how to cast heavy lures.....Your technique seems to be difficult and could Hurt the shoulder....or not?
First you need a proper rod. Trying to throw that stuff on a wimpy rod is a recipe for injury or, at the very least, tiring out in very short order. On the back cast let the rod load with the lure and launch it easily. Trying to work against the weight of the lure before the rod loads fully is waaaay too much work.
What action rod should I use for this lure
Depends on the size. For Regular Dawgs I usually use a MH to H action rod. Mag Dawgs I'd use a H to XH rod. For Pounders I use a Custom X or Chaos Shock and Awe XXH. Good Luck this fall
Thank you!!! I heard these baits are awesome, I’m going to have to pick some up, I’m also new to Muskie fishing so I don’t know to much about it!!!
Hello! Thank you for the video! please tell me the spinning model st. croix legend tournament in this video?
Spinning Model?? do you mean casting?
@@TeamRhinoOutdoors sorry, casting model - 8'6" Big Dog?
What test weight are you using?
We typically use 80 or 100# super braid. There are many great lines out there but we use Cortland Master Braid most often. Good luck fishing.
What color bulldawg is that do you remember the name
I believe that was an Ice Walleye Pro Dawg. Thanks for watching and Good Luck Fishing
What reel are you using?
Abu Garcia Revo Toro Beast High Speed. We also use a Tranx 400 High Speed as well. Thanks for watching our videos. Good Luck Fishing.
Just got a Toro beast last week and I love it already I also have a question what would you recommend baitwise for a river the allegheny river in northwestern Pennsylvania in particular I don't want anything that will sink like a rock but don't exactly want all topwater
Can you troll with those lures
Yes you can you'd likely need to add an inline weight or ball weight to get some depth out of them. Thanks for watching
You guys answer every comment😂 no problem in that tho
We certainly try but for sure don't reply to everyone. Thanks for watching
GREAT" THANKS!!
Thank you
Ooooooh to be 26 again and spend all day rippin' like that! Not for me. Never said I didn't throw Dawgs... 😉
Can you troll with it?
You can. It's not the main way to fish them but it works. You'd likely need to add some kind of keel weight or ball weight to get it down in the water column. Good Luck
So it’s a job not a sport 😂😂
