i started to get ready every day after my workouts and showering routine! it has changed my mood and confidence over time. i feel so cute yet so powerful! i tend to smile more and enjoy the day when i feel ready! my therapist also advise me to do something for myself every day and getting ready has truly changed my perspective of myself and what others thought of me. loveee ya stacey!! keep preaching!!

I'm a mom of 3 and I needed this reminder! I am worth the time it takes to get myself put together. And for me that means workout clothes (because I do workout daily), doing something cute but practical on my hair, and some mascara. Also showering right after my shower so I don't stink the rest of the day. But it hit me hard when you said this is the day to wear your perfume or wear that outfit. Too often we wait for some special occasion, but you're right, today is a special occasion. 😃
Girl 2 yrs ago i was at my heaviest weight of almost hitting 400lbs. Last yr october i went through wls thinking it was going to make me feel better about myself. Today im now 278 and still dont feel good about myself. Since quarantine ive stopped getting myself ready. And went into a depression. And still have my moments. Its hard, i have no self esteem. I do my makeup get ready and i feel good, but once that comes off im like disgusted looking at myself. I stilll wear the clothes I use to when i was almost 400lbs. Ive gotten a few new outfits but nothing helps. But i know i have to start loving myself. Its a struggle. Right now watching your video made me cry. Lol. Thank you for putting this video out. I need to make time for me and get back to my workouts and staying on track so i dont gain that back. Today because of your video, im gonna get all dressed up and i will love myself. I have been working from home/in my room and I always have made it a thing that I have to get up, make my bed, brush my teeth, shower and change out of PJ’s even tho I’m going to be in my room all day. I do skip out on doing my make up but I do make sure to always at least get out of my PJ’s and out of bed since since it’s so easy to just stay in bed and work lol

I’m not a mother but I haven’t been real motivated to dress up everyday of the week like I used to before the pandemic, I dress up 3 times out of the week and I want to get to a place where I dress up everyday and I am the person like you said I reserve fits, perfume and hairstyles for special occasions but what am I waiting for?!!!!!! I’m not a mom yet but I needed to hear this for many many years my dad taught me to put others first because that’s what he did and always complained he never got anything in return. Today I’m 26 years old and I can say parents let your kids live there life and walk next to them that goes to me I poured my entire 6 years into a man that in the last two I could say I completely lost myself when it comes to appearance I lost over currently 35 pounds and I’m happy but now I’m in the how to get up everyday and get ready. It’s hard because I was used to the mentality of putting others first but thank you mamacita for this.

I love classic dresses. It is so easy to put on and I look good while dressing simple with cute sandals.
But I notice that some people get so negative about it.
The list you showed in one of your videos in your notes is something I've been using ever since. And my mom really liked it too! It helps me to put myself first in the morning just to shower, get in real clothes, etc and my kids don't care, they wait until I'm ready! Which is not what I expected. Our family wants us to put ourselves first and make sure we look good so we feel good. My friends dad used to always say, "when you look good you feel good." And I've remembered that for the last 16 years lol

I used to not wear my expensive perfumes that I love because I wait for “special occasions” but after I saw one of your previous videos where you said that everyone is worthy of wearing expensive perfume everyday, I literally think of that every day and now I’m going to do that with makeup too!

Omg yes to the moms not getting ready .I used to get ready and go extra on my makeup and outfit but that all changed when I had my first baby’s 3 months ago,and don’t get ready at all. I really need to set aside time for myself because I’m 22 and I still want to get up and feel good about how I look but l feel drained or unmotivated. Thanks for this video Stacey ❤️

You are MORE than worthy of your own time, effort, and energy. Your exterior is the reflection of your interior. If you’re style is a bit more sporty with joggers and cropped hoodies, awesome! If you prefer dresses, awesome! As humans, the only thing we have to perceive others is appearance. Take the time to make your exterior reflect your interior because if you cant respect yourself, who will?

The first 3 minutes made me cry so hard. That’s exactly how I feel. I use to take care of myself before having my daughter and now I feel guilty of even brushing my hair. It’s not my husband or kid, I think it’s the dam society I grew in making me feel bad. What’s sad is that my mom is in great shape and takes care of herself... I just can’t seem to do the same. Btw her family is low key haters and judgmental.

Realize that taking care of yourself sets a good example for your kid, so it's a very good thing. And stay away from the toxic side of the family!
@@dianaestrada8711 your husband should step in and defend you and set boundaries with his mom. If he chose you to be his wife, he has the duty to cherish you and not let his mom make you feel bad. Talk to him about it.
As for you mother in law, the next time she whines about you taking care of yourself, tell her: "your son likes it".

As a busy business owner, I find myself in leggings and cute crew necks all the time because I’m always on the go, I’m not a dress/girly type of woman, I don’t think one needs to wear makeup to look “ready” or heels, to each their own, but I’m thankful for my skin and I honestly feel so pretty without makeup, I just curl my lashes and a nice lip balm, and sprits my fave perfume and go about my day feeling great, self care is so important and it also comes in all shapes and forms, we got to find what feels good for us - and you’re so right, life is short, go get ready what ever that means to you ❤️

To be honest I don't like to get ready everyday because I find recieving stares or unwanted comments and advances from men tiring, which I have to deal with when i put effort into my appearance and therefore look appealing. I prefer to wear hoodies and look as invisible as possible to avoid having recieving attention as I also have mild social anxiety so it's easier for me to complete errands, use public transport etc, when I look 'rough'
I live in a bad area aswell so when I am dressed up I feel afraid that someone may even try to follow me or something like that
