That HD footage of him walking on stage is insane.
been watching him since around maybe 2017 , just refining and refining rather than blow-up suddenly . VERY overlooked but now nobody can deny him what he deserves . in time he will just get better too
I used to watch him around that time too when I first got into bodybuilding. I was obsessed with the golden era and I liked to see modern guys doing similar things and bringing similar physiques. I also watched Calum Von Moger.
@@projectbodybuilding its great that what we've seen is the progression of modern bbers bringing older classic shapes . wesley though has a frame and condition that if he massed up would look like a qaulity early 90's bber . the striations and clean muscle with tidy lines is rare these days . great guy , would love him to win mr O classic title

3:40 Just look at the sartorius muscle. Insane! His legs are straight out of a anatomy book, perfect shape!
yes, sartorius and the tear drop are great, but his internal gastrocnemius has no shape, and then weak hamstrings, vastus lateralis lacks the sweep, small gluteus, and the x-shape connecting the hips to thighs is straight and bad looking; on the other hand, he has very strong external gastrocnemius and good soleus and these, coupled with a long tibia and a fantastic shape of the quad heads over the knee, allows him to strike phenomenal arnold-style twisted poses like 2:36. About the upper body, too short lats and stright obliques are bad for the x-shape, really far from arnold's smooth and huge wings; the rib cage is short and compressed and the last coasts bulge out in a weird fashion, and the abs shape is too symmetrical and blocked. Then, he has these fantastic arms and really massive bundles in the shoulders which, together with good pecs makes him looking the nearest to arnold's unattainable torso.

Yes, I think that now his front thighs are the best in Classic? No-body has those deep cuts from knee to hip.
I was wondering how he lost his calves. Improvemente everywhere but his calves, why is that?

Also notice how overdeveloped his delts used to be. You can especially see the difference in the side chest.

Great analysis!! You should have a lot more subscribers! Wesley looks great (I think he needs to work on his calves more and lower back if possible (genetics?). Though his legs have improved if you notice he also tilts out his knee further on the left leg to emphasize the sweep even more. Also at the back dbl biceps his neck muscles taper to nothing while Ramon looks much better though overall Wesley has much better "flow/aesthetics/conditioning" than Ramon. One of those shots you posted shows Wesley and Ramon in a totally different league than #3/#4...granted Breon has now been outclassed by the top 2 by a good margin. Of course congrats on past Olympia victories. Look forward to more videos and subscribed.

The tan and The posing trunk make a huge differense so does his posing
He definitely use to use HUGE posing trunks because they were old school. They were slightly bigger than the old ones that the division use to use and he would hike them bad boys up, another old school choice.
What happened to his calves?
idk what happened to wesleyy calves they were amazing
On his dutch channel he recently spoke about it. He stopped training them for a while since they were bigger than they needed to be. Also thinking they would stay once he got them. Then they started fade so he started hitting them again.
Makes sense because they were huge, still are, just not what they used to be

Just watched it, he does look better in the pictures, in the video its like hes not in the same class as the other guys, but still, Brion beating him easily

I think they should stop using most of the mandatories from the open division tbh, let Classic be something entirely different, not something built off open. Have poses like the rear double and side chest sure, but throw a mandatory vacuum, crucifix pose, and other classic poses in there.
Wesley was soooo much bigger taller more aestetic and symetrical than Ramon he looked like another class. Not close at all

What I don't get is Arnold said he looked like Lou but he did Arnold's poses and to be honest he looked more like Arnold.

Nah everyone’s talking about this, when Arnold said that everyone literally said wtf and knew he was making no sense and didn’t wanna be compared to him because of his ego, even Wesley face was shook when he said Lou instead of Arnold and Wesley commented on this saying “Of course Arnold will never say someone looks like him cause he’s Arnold” that’s Arnold’s ego

Yes, he has improved a lot, but I still think that Ramon is the one who will continue to compete for the title with Chris. Ramon just has a better physique overall

But I think, wesely atleast is the only with the perfect genes, atleast a chance to MAYBE beat him. Wouldve gotten way closer than everyone else in the past couple of years

Yeah I noticed that as well. Looked very similar to the atrophy that occurred on Iain Valliere's calves.
Didn't noticed that until you pointed it out, maybe it's just because he's more conditioned now and the true shape of his calves has been revealed, not sure
Upper body damn good. Lower body not so. Build up all and Nobody will touch him as Mr Olympia next
Why are people calling it the biggest upset? Most people agree that he deserved it and he was overlooked too much until now.
Because going into this no one expected it. It's true he's been overlooked, but that's part of it- NO ONE expected the judges would give him the time of day, let alone that he would be good enough to defeated the numbers 4, 3, and 2 in the world. It was a big jump in placings too, from 7th to the new 2nd in the world on paper. We all think he deserved it but it was unexpected that's what makes it an "upset."

It's the same thing more or less- did the underdog win when no one was expecting it? Yes. That's an upset by definition.

This tells me that Urs needs to change his coach...he's getting run over by everybody.. i don't even know how he get's placed better than Breon..
No mention about the fact that his calves started to melted dramatically, especially gastrocnemious part, and also his lats started to recede, just like Ramy and others. This doesnt look for Wesley.
The calves i 100% didn't pay attention too youre right. But the in the back I did notice how late changed shape. It's weird bc they're higher but also gotten a ton wider
Calves got way worse though...seems like he lost a decent amount of muscle. They looked way bigger in 2019
I like Wesley and used to watch his videos a few years ago but in all honesty, his legs look like the dead, dried out corpse used in anatomy dissection I watch..it’s a shame this is what it takes to win ..I preferred him when his ideals were golden asthetics
