  • Today we are exploring another abandoned silver mine in Cobalt Ontario, Canada! This old mine was blasted out and turned into a huge open pit exposing all the lower level workings of the old silver mine! Follow Jay Explore! Underground and I as we explore this site! It's full of drifts and tunnels from the original 1900's mine that once existed here!
    This is part 1 of 2 of this old forgotten Canadian silver mine!

    Did a survey class using Brunton compass in the mine while at school in haileybury back in the 1970’s.

      Very cool! Some of the adits we've explored up there definitely show use into the 80s it would seem. Some from the schooling programs that used to run in them!

    This place is almost literally my back yard.. Super impressive once you head in there and see everything. People nowadays are just soooo soft compared to folks back then.Great vid, Im sure ill run in to yous one day around there.

    I'll be living in sudbury I've been trying to find some abandoned shafts but can't find any be great if you guys can bring me to some 🤙

      Sudbury really doesnt have too many accessible adits. A small handfull, loads up in Cobalt though, 1 every 5 feet lol 😄😄 send us an email if you like theres some small ones around here but nothing too crazy! Adventurous_4Life@outlook.com

    Amazing place! Is this publicly accessible, ie. I won't get charged with trespassing if I go?
    Cobalt is about 3 hrs drive from where I will be in October. Thanks.

      There's a bunch of places like this in Cobalt that have no marked private signs. We only film places that arent marked with private signs. Now by all means these places arent public access and the risk of injuryis very real.

    I’ve lived in cobalt my whole life, used to be in a lot of these places. Great for keeping beer cold.

    Are these still opened? I took a road trip out there a few days ago and all the ones I found are gated ..

      Should be 😄 most of the ones close to town have been gated off long ago. To get into the gated off ones you have to repel down open cuts. Open Adits are farther outa town!

      If there where they weren't many. Lots of cobalt and silver though! I believe quarts is more prominent in gold mines!
