Did a survey class using Brunton compass in the mine while at school in haileybury back in the 1970’s.
Very cool! Some of the adits we've explored up there definitely show use into the 80s it would seem. Some from the schooling programs that used to run in them!
Can anyone tell me how to get ahold of this ty guy , I'd really like to meet him and ask him some questions about the area.
Message him here! ruclips.net/channel/UCmHij3pcjxb2KQJ0pAFU7Vw he's taken a few people out exploring!

Amazing place! Is this publicly accessible, ie. I won't get charged with trespassing if I go?
Cobalt is about 3 hrs drive from where I will be in October. Thanks.
There's a bunch of places like this in Cobalt that have no marked private signs. We only film places that arent marked with private signs. Now by all means these places arent public access and the risk of injuryis very real.
@@Adventurous4Life Did you guys have to repel to get into that site, or is it hike in?
If i remember correctly this place can be walked too!
I’ve lived in cobalt my whole life, used to be in a lot of these places. Great for keeping beer cold.
LOL! Great for keeping beer cold! That's for sure, they stay cold all year with ice in them as you probably know! Thanks for watching!!
great video - thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! Really interesting area!
Are these still opened? I took a road trip out there a few days ago and all the ones I found are gated ..
Should be 😄 most of the ones close to town have been gated off long ago. To get into the gated off ones you have to repel down open cuts. Open Adits are farther outa town!
Excellent exploration work guys, thanks.
Thanks! Was an interesting area to explore that's for sure!! Glad you enjoyed!
Love this place!!
It's definitely a really sweet site!! So much to explore in one area. It's like a maze of open drifts!
Where abouts is that, I go up there a lot to explore abandoned mines and I’ve never found this one
Go visit this channel if u haven't been to it yet. Chat with Ty! He'll probably more then likely show u around. Especially if u have climbing gear lol!

If there where they weren't many. Lots of cobalt and silver though! I believe quarts is more prominent in gold mines!
