you were making that statement towards all imams with "They themselves" It's blunt, offensive, and unnecessary. You might not even know of more than a handful of Imams.
***** Wa alaykum al-salam sister. No problem, we all make mistakes, at least you were sincere enough to admit it. Be careful who you take knowledge from.
This is so true. You can't force someone to marry someone who they don't want. Therefore, is better for them to choose who they want to marry. Although, Allah knows who will marry who.
The preacher is saying something reasonable although I am Christian I side with him 100 percent. God bless you. You're real a man of God. Please my follow Christian's and muslims take a lesson from the Preacher. I love all of you God bless
Sometimes it's actually the parents who look for non-Islamic characteristics in spouses for their daughters such as degrees, income, physical appearance, etc. as opposed to virtue and good character.
U know what do the best for urself but once u feel like u r trapped then just have sabr bec taking risks can again be devastating so have sabr..we really need to develop sabr
SubhanAllah. This made me look back at my life before marriage. I am so very thankful for my parents. Even though my mother wasn't happy with the age difference between me and the man i wanted to marry (14 years older than me), I told her that it was what I wanted for a number of reasons and she agreed that my reasons were valid. Other than that, my father took care of everything, making sure that i would be getting married to not a perfect (because we know that only Allah is perfect), but a good man. Hamdolilah today we are married and expecting our first daughter inchallah. My dear brothers and sister in Islam, i urge you, please, Marry the manwoman who can both make you happy and fears Allah for if he does Not fear Allah, they will never be the right man/woman for you. Marry the one who encourages you and reminds you about Allah for if they does not, the angel of death will. Marry the one who looks beautiful not only in your eyes but Allah's eyes as well. I urge you, pray Istikhara before making the decision to marry someone, not after. And lastly I urge you, when you get the chance to get married, take it! Wallahi, marriage protects you from the evil all around us and within ourselves. As your sister in Islam, I sincerely wish you all a blessed, fruitful and happy marriage.
Mademoiselle Emma That's really good advice, and age difference is not a proper reason to halt ta marriage, but what i'm concerned is ppl who are practicing are getting married to non practicing muslims coz of love and attractions, this is really dangerous especially when the husband is responsible religiously for the wife and the wife is responsible religiously for the husband and they will be questioned regarding this, i think even if anyone gets attracted to anyone due to our day and age where men and women comes so much in contact, the attraction should be based on religiosity first, and then the character and then the physical features, unfortunately the order has been reversed, first the beauty, character and then religion, and even if one half is not practicing, the other half still only sees the good side avoiding the bad sides due to blindness that infatuations can bring, and they just think to themselves the other person will change but many never do, parents of the girl(wali) do have a right to stop marriages to a person who is non practicing but the girls who are rebellious goes to the sharia court and spills all lie that the man is really good and practicing in the process making the sharia court take the guardianship from the wali and completing the marriage, well the fact is even if the girl can fool sharia court, u can't actually fool Allah, and if the wali had legitimate reasons in light of sharia, the marriage is devoid of the barakah , and many of these marriages faces serious problems in future.
I hope that some fathers have listened to this video and read some of the comments here about broken hearts. But many are stubborn and just follow their own superficial cultural dumb desires. Have the hadeeth never reached you when the messenger of Allah said: “A matron should not be given in marriage except after consulting her; and a virgin should not be given in marriage except after her permission is sought”. Ibn Abbas narrated that a young virgin came to the Messenger of Allah (saw) and mentioned that her father had given her in marriage against her wishes. So the Prophet (saw) gave her the choice of repudiating the marriage”.
This is so powerful i wish my parents understood this !! i really want to marry this brother and he wants to marry me but my family doesnt let because they are poor!! i dont what i should do !!
Rayana I think you should try convincing you parents that "Earning money" is a part of life and is not complete life. It might make up less than one percent of the person. Ask her to see him on the whole, his external features, his mental attributes, him being respectful towards elders, etc. Sit in your room and think about as many positive qualities as you can about him. Write them down if you want to. Then speak about all of them to your parents. Now, ask them if it's wise to ignore all the good qualities and hold on to just one "negative quality"? Moreover, being poor isn't even bad, a person earns that which is written in his fate by Allah. I hope you get what you want and I also hope that you take each and every step of your life wisely and with in-depth thinking to avoid problems as much as possible. Ameen.
One of the best lecture so far. And it put so much knowledge and give cobfidents to womans as they have rights to reject the proposals as well n merry whom they want. Mashallah
Masha'llah Very Great Reminder! I Ask Allah SWT To Reward You For Such A Reminder, And May He Allah SWT Reward You With Such Reward That You May Be So Happy With! You Are Doing Great Work, Wallahi I Will Make Dua'h For You For Whomever You Are. Jazak Allahu Kahairr
This was powerful. Practical advice not just about how to get along with your adult children and how to raise small children but more importantly about how to take responsibility for your own actions and failings and to not be a hypocrite. All interspersed with a depth of spiritual awareness and beautiful visuals. The preaching style is very foreign to me. The periodic interjections of guttural semitic sounds are jarring and make it kind of hard to follow but even still I found this to be a touching presentation.
I'm not a muslim, but I've always had much love and respect for Islam as well as I do for my own religion (which I love dearly)💎💎💎 But I agree with everything he says because the child should decide who they marry because after all it's their life💎 Some parents may be super stubborn and restrict their child to only several, some or even a very minimal races for marriage🤦🏻♂️ They tend to stubbornly forget that this isn't about what they want for their child, but this is about who their kid wants to marry💎 It puts way too much stress on their kid because he/she really wants to be with a certain race because they feel happier and they want that type of person in their life forever💎 Those parents who restrict their child should be more open minded because it will make their child's life a lot easier and happier💎 The fact that the child has to worry about what will their parents say to the person they want to marry isn't going to cut it💎 "what if my family offends my lovers family strongly or even worse... offends my lover?" Why should anyone have to worry about this? This isn't right and it's not good for anyone's emotional and mental health💎 These type of parents need to learn how to adapt and stop thinking too much about themselves and how it might "embarrass" them in front of their friends or relatives💎 We as your children are appreciative of what you have done for us through out our lives and how you've guided us💎 But when it comes to marriage... it is completely out of your control, but all you can do is try to assist their decision and see where things go💎 As for the result of who the child marry's... it's your job as parents to respect your child's decision and do whatever you can in your power to adapt and understand their lovers' culture💎 For me personally I know I won't have many problems with this when I will be a parent because I'm somebody who easily adapts and finds the good in every new thing that comes my way💎 I just hope the parents from the generation before the millennial generation and even before the one that is before the millennial generation, is able to learn how to be more understanding and learn how to adapt💎

May Allah help our parents understand, some parents stop their sons and daughters from marrying who they want due to ethnicity and race passing through this situation can be tough on us.May Allah give us the strength to bear this it so difficult.

Very well said. It's a shame that the Imams never mention this issue in Friday khutbahs.
+salman yusuf not all Imams are like that.
You shouldn't make blunt statements towards societal leaders such as Imams.
Allah knows best.
bruh you said "because they them selves are part of the problem".
you know what you said. so does Allah.
you were making that statement towards all imams with "They themselves"
It's blunt, offensive, and unnecessary. You might not even know of more than a handful of Imams.

MashaAllah , May Allah grant mufti menk a place in Jannah.

Saira Khan lol that is the only thing EVERYBODY LOOKS AT. INCOME DEGREE FAMILY . UGGGHHH
Muslim sisters in the U.S. care more about dunya. I'm now happily married with an Indonesian lady, and we have a beauriful daughter.
society is cruel.....not islam...!!!!
Indeed...
Subhana'allah i wish my parents knew this,...i get so sad listening to these kinds of videos... In a force marriage¡!!!!!!!!!!!!
Allahu Akbar. Just know that you can strive and struggle for YOUR FREEDOM!
U know what do the best for urself but once u feel like u r trapped then just have sabr bec taking risks can again be devastating so have sabr..we really need to develop sabr
Sabr is sth that u will get something at the end
Inshallah you’re ok now I hope sister
wow islam is so fair
Nabiyaha Cabdi yes it is
But people tend to complicate it.

Mademoiselle Emma lucky bitch
Age is no excuse to halt a marriage if both love each other. Those people conveniently forget that our Nabi's first wife was 15 years older than him.
Mademoiselle Emma
Mademoiselle Emma so happy for you sister😄

Tell them that money is only from dunya.
That's true, the father is the most vulnerable to become a hypocrite.
It's haram to force anyone to marry, regardless of gender.
This is one of the most amazing speeches I have heard!
Please pray for me so that my parents can understand me that I am not ready for marriage now 🙁
MashaAllah what a superb speech. My favorite Scholar Mufti Menk
