The greyed-out tree for longsword is an event weapon. Part of the rewards from the USJ collab quests. There's an armor set that can be layered, a bow, a longsword, palico gear, and palamute gear. Damn shame the weapons can't be upgraded into master rank. I don't know the full backstory or lore behind the gear, but you're basically blue Inuyasha.

What's a Samurai duel without a good comeback story from defeat? And is it just me who imagine S.Magna's super long range sword slash feels just like Hawkeye's from One Piece?
Easily my favorite flagship monster, I kinda wished they remixed the Magnamalo theme for the scorned version. But definitely a worthwhile fight for that grind to MR100
Yeah I’m pretty sure him having a broken horn and all the red dragon element scars on him indicate that Scorned just so happens to be a Magnamalo who got caught in Ibushis storm. Weird how he ended up getting dragon element tho.
@@Darkwarp1994 Yeah whenever he does that big red explosion he gets a third tail blast that inflicts dragon. He honestly doesn’t use it all that much but he has it.

DG you should bring small barrel bombs to lvl up Ls gauge with tempered counter for a SSC wake up on sleeping monsters. Nice hunt btw 👍🏽
