You are so welcome!
Man,
I just got the best shotgun of my life! ( so far)🤣 I’m really loving clay shooting but am struggling to get better as I’m not shooting more than once a week and definitely have some bad habits that I have engrained myself with. I very much enjoy these videos and appreciate the clear instruction. I have to say I came to a very real crossroad this week when I went to shoot at the range when the best shooter at our club was telling another shooter a short distance off how beautiful my gun was but it’s too bad that I can’t shoot it. For a moment I was devastated but had to reconcile that he was right to a good degree and that I just don’t put in the time like he has over the years. To his defense he didn’t think I was within hearing range and I doubt he would ever say that to me as he is a good and helpful guy. So I just want to end this on how important these videos are to me and maybe to many others and to again thank you both for this as I want to improve and be the best I can be with what time I have to spend learning and shooting in this sport. Just being completely honest.
Regards 👍
Thanks for your kind words, we are glad our videos are helping you enjoy our sport. Cheers
If it’s any consolation, I’m a relatively new trap shooter as well (15 months). It took me at least 2000 shells thru before things started to come naturally. Now no matter the day, I’m around 92-96/100 targets from the 16 yard line, 90-92/100 from the 21. Hang in there, it’ll come!
Yes the trend in skeet is about 70/30 and was an average raiser for my game.
Once again, great video !
Thanks again!
Love from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳....keep it up
Great stuff! Thanks so much.
Glad you enjoyed it!
When you get Arizona, let me know! Want to buy a dinner to thank you for all great information!!
We eat a lot 🤣. Thanks for the offer. Glad you enjoy the videos
Instructive! Thank you!
You're welcome!
The point about skeet guns used to shoot like 50/50 and now they're like 70/30 was surprising. All of my books are old i guess.
Great explanation ...... thank you .....Malta calling :-)
Thank you too!
These videos are awesome...
Glad you like them!
Great video!! 👍🏼
Thank you
Nice comparisons!!
Glad you think so!
Grande Mark!!!
Morning from Denmark :-)
Hello there!
If I wanted to raise the POI of my shotgun is it just as simple as raising the adjustable comb and not worrying about not seeing a figure 8 with my beads since I would now see a lot more rib?
Yes that will do it every time.
I am left eye dominant right-handed and I always want to close one eye but I was told you're not supposed to I've tried both ways not sure which is better
You will either have to close tour left eye or cover it with a patch on your shooting glasses) or learn to shoot from the left shoulder then you can keep both eyes open.
Thanks good video
Glad you liked it
My right eye is dominance, l am right hand shooter, l follow your teaching doing 3 shots at pattern board, finding the pallet 2 to 3 inches left off the CENTRE. How can I adjust to the right, l use a trap gun with adjustable comb, thanks
Push the comb 1 to 2mm to the right
Thanks
Hello what's the best POI for olympic trap and it's the same for all 9 schemes ? Thank you
Pretty sure it’s in the video. 70/30 is very popular
Does the trap point of aim shoots higher because the high rib on top (therefore you point higher) or because every trap gun shoots higher than where you’re pointing?
Thanks!
It’s beneficial to have a higher point of impact for trap due to the consistent rising targets in this discipline
@@GoShooting thanks for replying!
So what distance is this pattern reference "calculated" at? I would assume that a trap gun that shoots, lets say 70/30 from the a break point of 30 yards would be considerably higher if shooting targets at 50 yards?
No. The percentage above/below stays the same the same at all distances until gravity sets in. Try 20 metres. The percentage will be the same at 10 metres or 30 metres
Great video..my question is for dove hunting, what percentage POI is suitable..thanks in advance😀
Roy ideally the same as a Sporting shotgun. 60/40 +/- 10%
Thx, one question. Is it possible to adjust the pattern or is it fixed and depends on the Gun.?
Chokes and ammunition will alter the size of the pattern which can make comparisons on the Point of Aim percentages dangerous, but Point of Impact is not altered by these factors.
Morning from Baku!
Morning!
When aiming at a patterning board should I close one eye to "aim" at the point of aim, or keep both eyes open and have the bead blurry like normal? Thanks in advance!
Its a good question Grant. First of all you must ensure you mount the gun to your shoulder at the pattern board in exactly the same manner you mount it at the firing line. Once you have achieved that you need to aim the barrel, like a rifle, at the pattern board. If you need to do this with one eye closed then that is fine. The end of the barrel must remain steady when pulling the trigger.
Great question 👍🏻
Was wondering what material your pattern board is made of?
20mm steel plate
@@GoShooting thanks for the information, I enjoy your videos and have learned a lot.
When you can make a Universal Trap program,
with its hold points, focus points and a shotkam
Thanks
