Best and easiest directions yet. Thank you so much sir
You're very welcome! I'm glad I could help. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask anytime.
Thats all I need. You rock!
I need this simple stuf for my kubota generator
Thank you! Glad I could help. If you have any more questions or need further assistance with your Kubota generator, feel free to ask.
Um something about this doesn't look right
What type of vehicle are you doing I'm looking for a Ford escape 2003 thank you you know what you're doing appreciate you doing your videos amen
Thanks
If alt has an internal regulator the voltage it puts out will be accepted by the battery without issue. So it should be able to charge the battery once alt is spinning.
This may be a dumb question, but I need some explaining with this one .
I just bought a Mitsubishi Galant and took a closer look under the hood finding a wire running just like this from the battery to the alternator. 😪 Uhh .. why exactly would the previous owner have had to do this ? Is it something to be concerned about? Or do I have to worry about this quick fix needing to be redone here in the near future? If so, how or when am I gonna know to replace it and am I at a greater risk for breaking down or doing damage to the vehicle cuz of this fix? NEED HELP PLEASE 😩
I didn't see a picture send some pictures to my email
Is there a way to contact you for help? I think it would be better if i was able to send a photo of my issue
My email is on my web site
I got a 2005 Mazda Tribute and the cable from the Alternator shorted. Could I do this with my 2005 Mazda Tribute or would I have to replace other stuff
Follow the wire to a point where the wire does not look melted or burned
Plus look at other wiring next to that wire
You should be able to determine if you can replace
Be sure to disconnect the battery
Im having electrical issues. Will this work on a modern car. Bypassing all the cable harnesses ?
What kinda of car
Out of curiosity..
I have a 2012 Ford Focus SE i had the stock alternator swapped with a 370 amp alternator in anticipation of a stereo install. I ordered the Big 3 kit for the installation and i am just getting around to installing that. I see where the big power wire would connect and run to the battery, but where do i run the other grounds?
I know there is supposed to be one running from the battery to the frame where the original ground was, and i read the other would go from the engine block to the frame.
Could you tell me if this is correct?
I wired stereos before, just not alternators or upgraded the install wires.
Also, do I need to do anything else aside from install the wires? Do they need to be fused? Do they require any additional parts?
I would just pay someone to do this but I'll never learn passing it off to someone else every time.
You can send me a schematic
But
You are always good when you ground directly to the battery
I assume your engine is grounded ?
Now days we get more and more instructions to ground parts to the battery
What size wire you use in the video??
Looks like 4 gauge
Can the wire be ve changed without removing the alternator?
Yes, it's possible to change the wire without removing the alternator. Disconnecting the battery first is crucial to ensure safety. Then, you can carefully access and replace the wire while working around the alternator. Make sure to follow proper procedures and safety precautions to avoid any mishaps.

I just bought a 69 nova it has a 396 in it battery is in the trunk. It has one wire from the positive side of the battery going to the alternator and thats it. Its a newer alternator. It tested the battery but it said the battery says its not charging. Dont know if i need too add the rectangular plug into the alternator someone told me the plug has two wires a fat red one and the exciteder wire and to tie the fat red wire into the red battery wire thats going into the alternator. Any advice would help. Thanks
The two wire connection on the alternator has one wire that needs battery positive and the other smaller wires is a key on signal wire that cones from the warning light in the dash
Be sure the bulb lights up
When you turn on the key and the alternator charge fuse is good
Run a battery canvases wire with a mega fuse from the alternator to the battery
Thank you sir.
I need some help with a mopar alternator not working I heard I need to ground it
What year make and model ?
Is it a factory alternator with a regulator ?
Hi what size gauge wire do I need
Sure, I'd be happy to help! To determine the appropriate gauge wire size, I need a bit more information. Could you please provide details such as the voltage of the circuit, the maximum current expected to flow through the wire, and the length of the wire run? With this information, I can offer you a more precise recommendation for the wire gauge size.
🔴 I have two of these #OneWireAlternators. One is factory #acdelco 160amp the other is a identically made #powermaster 250amp. Both are grounded to the engine right now via a #dualmountingbracket but each one power wire goes to it's own battery. Basically two charging systems. My question is can I run both #OneWire alternators in parallel by just jumping the one wire over to the other alternator and then splice the factory sense wire and jump it over as well so that the Pcm only sees Basically one high powered alternator❓️Any info would be greatly appreciated. Btw, I left out that right now I'm controling the voltage output on the 250amp with a #PulseWaveModulator that operates at 128hz just like the factory one. I can turn it as low as 11.9 up to 15.4 volts output, but I don't have anything that let's me know that it's completely charged so I can turn it down. The factory alternator does this on it's on via the PCM and I'd like it all to work like that to relieve the guess work.
Why do you want to run a parallel circuit
@@WilsonAutoRepair I want one charging system, basically I want the vehicles computer to see ONE high powered alternator and not two. I want the vehicle to control the voltage for the auxiliary alternator I added just like it does the factory alt.
@@WilsonAutoRepair Also, not that I want too, more so asking a professional... if I can or how I should
Where’s the inline fuse?
On what component?
Makes no sense to run battery cable to alt..where is is going to wire starter from?
That's the charge wire from the alternator to battery
So what if mines just run straight to the starter? Old school 78 mAlibu have 350 in it From a 98 camaro z28 so it uses the newer alternator from then. 1 exciting wire but the thing is, where would i put the charge wire? The guy before have it ran to starter with the old harness. Need help on should i run charge wire to battery or leave it running to the starter. @@WilsonAutoRepair
What wire to the battery?
The alternator charges the battery
On a lot of classics the charge wire connected at the starter solenoid on the battery post and others were connected on the starter post along with the battery cable
That's the same as connecting the charge cable directly to the battery
@@WilsonAutoRepair ok I just had to make sure! Thanks!
What wire gauge?
