Thank you Pastor . Very helpful . Guess what , the reason I listened is because you mentioned Barney’s . I was in winter park fl. When Barney and his mother started his business in a little in side market . I believe he was a aspiring preacher and was studying for the ministry . Well, maybe coffee was the wrong decision . God does work in mysterious ways .

    Thank you for this.
I don’t want to put down my church but I’ve been hurt by so much. Abandonment, fake friendships, horrible gossip, being used and uninvited, I had to quit a position because of my health and received many unchristian messages from other church members… some serious issues that have left me with wounds that are still bleeding and I had to ask for forgiveness… 😭 when I did nothing wrong. But I still love them. I still go to my church even though many did unspeakable things to me.

I have a testimony about this word
Faith I said it’s about me
The lord blew my car up and told me to look at the car and said it’s About you while my car blew up I said no lord I will never say “It’s About Me”

some parts of the sermon are good, I think a lot of pastors like this one simplify Recovery from Church hurt and there wasn’t a distinction between Church hurt versus spiritual abuse and I understand this may have not been that type of a sermon, but it would’ve been good to give a definition of the difference. I don’t expect pastors to know about Trauma and all the details and nuances and depth of healing and recovery needed, I do think that we are the body of Christ and we are to help each other, so there should be a Christian therapist in your church that could really give some insight to help with these types of sermons so that there is more sensitivity to trauma, because the steps that you are saying to do is not very easy and A lot of people know what these steps are as it’s been preached all the time, forgive, let go : it’s just to do these things is what’s missing in these sermons, how do I do it when my heart is ripped apart I know you gave some points but really the sermon also needs to include that your feelings are valid. You were done wrong and it’s going to take a process and Therapy may be needed or getting into support groups, maybe the church will have some church hurt Support Groups, as we are trying to do this in our church although it’s been difficult because leadership is not seeing such a need so can you see how people want to heal from church hurt but sometimes the church leaders actually doesn’t know how to specifically help people to do so, it’s really easy to the answers, sometimes the simplistic messages can very much confuse people- people feel they can’t do it and struggle but I just told you to forgive me to let go over and over again , Un empathetic .They haven’t been able to forgive. They haven’t been able to forget it. They haven’t been able to let go and then they’re being made to feel if you can’t let go that you’re not a good Christian I understand that’s not what the preacher said but it’s implied and then people get discouraged and feel like they can’t be a good Christian and so they give up, so people get easily discouraged. I just want to raise awareness that this topic needs more parts to it and cannot be rushed and cannot have Step 1234 and that’s it. Sometimes you cannot just let it go right away depending on the severity of what’s going on that is way too simplistic an answer. I hope somebody who reads this can be encouraged that if you’re unable to do these things that was outlined it’s OK you’re not a horrible person, you’ve been very hurt and that we need to acknowledge it and we need to walk you through safety steps of how to heal. and just let it go and not directly deal with the problem as there may be confrontation that is needed is irresponsible, depending on the situation again way too simplistic and answer. May God help this church with church hurt!
