You probably know this Megan, in German (I’m Swiss), Schnitz means “slice”. An “Apfelschnitz” is an apple slice, for both fresh or dried. ❤
Thank you! I forgot about that!
U can dry any fruit...pineapples are very good🤤

❤ Thank you so much for giving back and spreading awareness. I'm a Lancaster County neighbor. Conestoga Valley Christian Community Services and Crossnet Ministry in New Holland truly helped me so much during the hardest times, especially during pregnancy. The food pantries supported me when I could not buy food. Their clothing banks were the only clothes my daughter and I wore for two years. I was so thankful to people that donated their clothing and the volunteers that helped me shop when I could barely walk. God really blessed me through these people, and volunteers like you ❤
Hi Megan, in the UK many food banks have appeared especially with the cost of living crisis and many churches now have them too as the council ones you have to have a voucher, but there are many people in poverty who can’t get the vouchers and the one ran by volunteers and churches are much needed nowadays.
I love that you took the boys. We are a Catholic family and every year I ask our 3 granddaughters what they would like to send to countries where families have nothing through an organisation called CAFOD and explain that these gift help people to live. They have chosen chickens, goats, bees, seeds, school supplies there are so many option and last year the youngest chose a safe water supply as she read how far a little boy had to walk to get water. I let them all chose something and I do it for them. It is very important that our children/grandchildren realise how lucky they are. (Sorry for long message)
I’m loving all your recipes in fact I love everything you all do and the way you bring up your children. I can see that bump growing he’s going to be blessed to be born into your beautiful family xxx
I've done something similar with goats and chickens. What a cool opportunity for kids too!
I’ve never heard a butternut squash called “neck pumpkin” before. How charming!
That's what my mom always called it. Maybe it's a regional thing.
@@MeganFoxUnlocked I love it! 💛
I was thinking the same thing!!
Your vlogs are truly special. With all the crazy that goes on in the world it's nice to see a Christian family enjoying life, dressing modestly and inspiring others.
Well said!
@@darbyclark3798 Thank you!
You can also donate your voucher from Blessings of Hope, to someone else who can use it. My daughter and I volunteer there about once a month. It is a great ministry. They also have a dehydration center in East Petersburg and partner with Barnabas Aid ministry.
Blessings of Hope is such a great organization. I volunteer there several times throughout the year when I have time.
I watched this last night on my sisters tv but am here on my phone watching it again. There’s something so comforting about your videos and I need that right now lol
Megan, for Kale you can also use Olive oil and salt and pepper... love from Cornwall, UK xxx
So funny, I put on your video as I was slicing some of our apples to dehydrate them, and here you were doing the same. 😂
I love to add cooked squash into homemade macaroni and cheese! It makes it a bit sweet but is delicious. Doesn't really matter which squash you use, butternut, buttercup, Hubbard, Cinderella.
We love dried apples!!! I always sprinkle with some cinnamon while they’re wet from the lemon juice and that makes them even better😋
Ooohhh! Glad I still have the dehydrator!
Your videos truly make me feel so at peace and so productive at the same time. Thank you Megan!
It's tradition at our house to make a similar pumpkin whipped topping and we serve it with fresh homemade ginger snaps😊❤
Oh and by the way, a few names you may be interested in!!
Judson, Winston, Baxter, Carver, Oakland, Remington (Remy), Ashton, Hudson, Austin, and Zane
Everything looks so yummy! Thank you for sharing!😊
Probably you know, but just in case you don't reheating rice has it's querks. Please do an online search. If the rice has not cooled down fast or stored wrong, one can get food poisoning. The supper in a pumpkin looked delicious❤
I have NEVER heard butternut squash called neck pumpkins - that’s a new one to me here in the Midwest! Also I need to try this bread.
Yes, you can dehydrate papaya, pineapple, cantaloupe, almost any fruit and herbs
Great video. It was fun. Ty Megan.
Very nice video, love that frosting on the pumpkin bread😊🎃🧡🍁🍂
The dinner in a pumpkin is so cool!
Just watched the intro! Great timing on your pumpkin themed video- National Pumpkin Day! Your pumpkin bread recipe is a tried and true favorite at our home. I'm very interested in seeing how apple schnitz is made as well as the dinner in a pumpkin. Hope you have a very blessed "falliday" season!
It's National Pumpkin Day?! Now that is pretty cool!

I always do. Your videos get me hooked. Its a visit i do not wanna miss😂❤
Can't wait to try this pumpkin bread!
When you were drying your apples, it brought back sure wonderful memories. Mu aunt use to put hers on top of the smoke house in the sun to dry covered with a white sheet. They looked just like the ones you did.
Wow! How long would it take?
Using the orange pumpkin is great!
Also, you can give your vouchers to others so if it is too hard for them to drive to both places or whatever. I have been grateful for those vouchers when I needed them and didn't have the ability/ease to go.
hey girl- loved the video!😀😉 such yummy recipes! Blessings of Hope looked so nice☺ Always enjoy seeing your kiddos🥰
I like the music for the intro!
And I love your friendly fly/baker friend 😂

I love the pumpkin bread!!☺Made it this year already and given the recipe on to friends too!! Love your vlogs as always Megan, especially if they are full of food!😃
I just love your channel that pumpkin bread looks so good everything you make looks good. That was a good idea for the food pantry. Can’t wait to your next video. Have a blessed Thursday night.❤
Thank you for your videos Megan. With everything going on in the world, I just needed a friend to clean the kitchen with 🤗❤
I have made both sweet and savory versions of the stuffed pumpkin. We have always used orange pie pumpkins! So delicious ❤️
Literally searched for your Mary Ruth's code earlier today because I remembered you had one awhile back... Thank you!
Love your videos! Great recipes ♥
We use an apple peeler corer,,, cinnamon and monk fruit as sweetener yummmm
Meagan you are a good mom🤗
I’ve made your pumpkin loaf already once this fall and use it as a Christmas cookie exchange for the last two years, so thanks for that;)-
Great video as always!! 😊
The banana that you're referring to is a Plantain. Absolutely amazing.
I used to make a similar dinner in a pumpkin dish every year-but in a regular orange pumpkin.
Just sitting down with some turkey soup. I froze a bunch from our thanksgiving at the beginning of October 🇨🇦.
Can’t wait to watch. 🍁
Thank you!!
Happy Thursday ❤ xo
I enjoyed the help you and children did at food pantry. Thanks for taking us along! A stay at home mom is the best life! TJMaxx or Home goods has a pretty nice selection of winter coats! Enjoyed your recipes, too.❤
The music right off the bat is outstanding!
We keep our peels on when freeze drying apples! Such a good snack!! I love your videos, it's so refreshing to see another Christian mama my age homemaking and enjoying the simple life!
I've been waiting for your dinner in a pumpkin recipe!!! I've been wanted to make it myself but wanted to see how you did it and go from there.
3 mins in already know I’m gonna love this!
Awww you're loyal!
Love dinner in a pumpkin! I watched your video three years ago and we have made it every year since. It has become our tradition as well!
Your videos lately have been absolutely stunning. So well edited and cozy ❤ I mean you always have great videos, but there’s something different
I have had a tough day until now. Thank you megan for brightening my day!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Bummer. Hope it's a one day thing! Happy weekend!
I like mine crispy, so slice thin and to give a good flavor I toss in a bowl with fresh squeeze orange juice, pears r so good
You might know this story, but Bonne Maman (the orange fruit spread) is a French brand of preserves. They are known for the fact that they were a family-owned business that worked hard to harbour and aid the French Jewish population during the Occupation in World War II. Many people only buy Bonne Maman in memory of this. I used to buy it when I lived in Canada, and continue to do so here in France. Love your videos, and your wholesome view of the world! Coming from Toronto, not far from Kitchener, Ontario, I have had Mennonite colleagues at work and have real admiration for what you stand for.
I had no idea. Thank you for sharing that story.
You're welcome!@@lisaruttenberg5886
Good to know!!
I have made the apple Schnitz before and love them! I need to make some soon… I do have a dehydrator so I will be pulling it out to make some apple Schnitz when the weather cools off.
Our church does a food pantry every week. We buy some food and some we are able to get from donations. The clients go through and pick out what they want and it is based on the size of their family. I have been working the food pantry for 4 years.
Wonderful Megan … love that you are doing this and making it known. In our area (state) we have a similar organization- The Food Bank.
Also Megan I love your videos - filled with family friends and church … not so much having a perfect coiffed house!!
I love using our dehydrator for apples, pineapples and bananas! Sooo good my kids beg for it! 😋 we also make beef jerky in it-so much more economical!
Oh my goodness. I made the pumpkin bread today, halving it to make one loaf, and I’m so glad I did or I could see myself getting though two in no time. Such a fantastic recipe! Thank you :)
Yes! We have Love My City here in Layton UT and prepare boxes for about 300 families! It's only once a month but the big one is coming up before Thanksgiving. My 5 yr old granddaughter is learning that helping others is a blessing. Love watching your channel Megan.
The children's multi-vitamin contains erythritol as the 3rd ingredient which has been linked to health problems. The 4th ingredient is Xylitol. As an adult, I can handle these two artificial sweeteners, but I rarely use them.
Love your videos!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Yes, your little chopper is from Tupperware! I have this one and the bigger one also! I am a Tupperware consultant 💜💜So it's fun to see the great kitchen items!
You should try to thinnly slice tangerines, or Clementines and dry them for snacks. That is SO good. Intense sweet-sour flavour👍
I was just think about your pumpkin bread recipe Megan! 😂 I'm making it next weekend!
oooh! I'm excited for you!
Great video Megan! xoxTX
Dehydrated pineapple is so yummy! It stays bendy, so sweet. I love to dehydrate mini marshmallows too! For hot cocoa in the winter or just to snack on, so yummy!! 😄
Yay for banana chips!!!
I make dried apples but I like to use an apple peeler. It cores, peels, and slices evenly. It’s a game changer!
Please share the harvest glow bowl! I'd love to learn to make that with my boys! (6 and 2)
Your channel is such a blessing! Thank you for truly wholesome content! ❤
You could use Fruit Fresh for your ascorbic acid. Always found in the canning section.
Your whipped topping looks so good now I need to make it. Iced coffee or lattes are great anytime of the year. Even if theres snow on the ground 😊😊
I love making whip cream, so much better than whip cream in a can
Love your glasses❤️❤️❤️
Meghan you look so cute with your glasses on. You should wear them more often.
Your dress is so beautiful!
I’d like to make some sweet bread with butternut squash! That looks delicious! Also just simply mashing the cooked butternut squash could be a yummy side dish… the wheels are turning for me! This is such a fun season for amazing flavors! 😋 Praying for a continued healthy pregnancy and blessings to your family as you anticipate this new precious baby ❤️❤️❤️❤️
We just got back from a visit to Lancaster. We stayed in Lititz and made sure to stop by September Farm!
Pine apple so good.
I made my first ever kale chips and loved them ! Pumpkin bread looks delicious!
Look in the canning section for ascorbic acid it’s just vitamin c. I like to use a mandolin to cut these to speed up the process.
It is also called Ball brand fruit fresh absorbic acid
You can totally use an orange pumpkin for that dinner - I did it a few times when my kids were young.
we love dehydrating apples! my hand crank peeler/slicer/corer that can clamp onto the counter edge comes in super handy, I just skip the peeling tool on it. Also you should totally order some dried elderberries and make your own syrup, soooooo much cheaper and can be used like pancake syrup, the kids suck it right down :)
When my son was young he loved dehydrated bananas and pineapple. I did the bananas. I soaked them in pineapple juice so they would retain their color. Pineapple is like eating candy. I did not make it, but bought a bag by the Golden Gate Bridge near San Francisco, CA.
A hack for you! Make your whipped cream in the blender! Super easy.
Hi Megan, I've been using my dehydrator for lemon slices, orange slices and herbs. For things which are more juicy, you can squeeze the juice out between a wooden board, and a heavy weight ... Like how you can do tofu if you have ever tried that.
Thanks for the tip! I want to try pineapple.
If only I weren't allergic to apples. That pumpkin bread and the glaze looks amazing.
I was nursing my baby while watching this and he would look over every once in a while and smile at you when you'd face the screen. It was cute.
In 2005, there was a time when my husband and I would drive to Lancaster every Saturday (three hours there three hours home). We did that for months! Ah, pre-kids was a different time.
I've done pineapple in my food dehydrator! I just thin sliced a fresh pineapple and let it dry. I didn't do anything fancy to them beforehand. I've also done strawberries. Both are super yummy and dont last long enough to go bad...haha!
