I love your videos! Very helpful. And to the last point: I'm in a writing slump for a week now, but only compared to my usual tempo. I saw a video from Brandon Sanderson where he said that writing 150-500 words an hour is a good number for writers and I was relieved af because even in my writing slump I bring my 500-1000 words in 1-2 hours down. On a bad day I write ~600 words and just realizing that it is still progress and not even a small one really made me more positive about my writing slump.
Currently binge-watching ur channel. Love your positivity, humour, and the way you understand that every writer has their own unique style. Your non-judgemental approach is so refreshing and inspiring. Thanks for creating such supportive content for writers. ✏📚
Truly motivational. I got out of the slump just a week ago by putting a project away (that I worked on for a long time) and starting a new one in a different genre. Sometimes drastican changes can help only.
😃 Yeah, you're right! Those slumps really help. They break up the time, and like you said, I wouldn't stop writing (or drawing or whatever) as things go well. Actually, I do appreciate those hours of being "in the zone". But there needs to be rest, for sure! Especially if what I'm doing sickens me. 🤨 Gotta put that down for a while.
I just think of that scene in Kiki's Delivery Service, if you can't find the passion anymore, there is no shame in finding something else, if it's something you truly love, you'll come back to it in your own time.
Man, I needed this! Thank you, now stop spying on me. 😂
"If your writing is already making you miserable, what do you have to lose?" Thanks for my new mantra 😊

😂😂😂 Love the intro.
I think when seas are calm the sailing ship stops altogether. (That's me right now.) but I don't know. Not a boatperson 😂

I think I'm in a more or less perpetual slump. When I write something I call it a Writing Stretch.
Slumps can also be used for research, illustrations, covers, editing, etc. It makes stubborn grinding look like inpired artwork.
